The reason small plastic boards appeal to me, is that they are portable, a great intro to skateboarding/cruising, cheap, really light, indestructible (will never suffer moisture damage), and are a really great way to get from point A to point B and having fun while doing it!
@JSRWoW10 жыл бұрын
They can pick up a lot of speed too, i sometimes race with my bantam vs friends longboarding and it does a good job to keep up, nice and smooth and yes very portable i do agree with that! :)

Good solid review; keep it up and don't worry about anyone on here that's being rude or negative. It's nice to see young men doing something productive and not at home playing video games. It's also good to see that you threw in thanks to the camera man as he was stable in his shots. Continue working on your craft, work up a script or atleast some large cards with key points and pay attention to trying hard to not have moments of everyone speaking at the same time. The flex test was interesting and a good giggling of the video. Perhaps dubbing sound over some riding footage letting you discuss the qualities of each board while letting the audience see it in motion would be a great feature in the next video. (Easy to accomplish in iMovie on your iphone). Innovate ; the perspective of comparing 3 separate items with 3 hosts is great. A suggestion : Watch some motorcycleUSA review videos on KZbin and take some notes.

Nice comparison mates! Had thought about getting a Bantam for my 1st cruiser a while back but they were a bit more expensive at the time so I went with Penny. The board + parts are pretty sturdy if maintained properly. I use mine for commuting, never for slides or anything. I reckon I have my longboard for that. I also find that sliding on a 22" board with 78a wheels and no concave is just a bit too sketchy for me. But they're really fast and smooth and great for cruising and carving. Really easy to carry around too. I don't get why people hate cruisers as much as they do. I mean, if they say "true skaters" don't ride cruisers only skateboards/longboards then I wouldn't mind not being a "true skater".
@KACEProductions9 жыл бұрын
Yea. Plus they made a lot of these types of boards just made of metal in the 60's and 70's. Thats true skating. Thanks for the input and positive comments!

Bones Reds are fine and they ride nicely for the price. But don't go replacing your Penny bearings for Reds before they break. The Penny bearings are nice and will serve you well. They make for a fast and smooth ride. Reds, I find they tend to slow down after using them a bit. Even after cleaning them up they feel significantly slowed down, unlike Penny bearings which last for a long time if maintained properly. I wouldn't mind getting another pair of Reds if I'm a little low on budget but if I wasn't I'd go for at least Bones Swiss.

The Kryptonics Torpedoe is a horrible board, horrible bearings. Me and my bro found the Globe Bantam for 60 bucks on sale. So search for sales, but even though you are not an avid skater, you would have a lot more fun on a more expensive board, and it would last longer than a cheap board.

would you reccomend a stereo vinyl cruiser ? plastic or the wooden one ? i just want to cruise around and might do basic tricks here and there
@rageagainstthetoymachine24108 жыл бұрын
+Aakash K Wooden because plastic boards like penny DO break, just search youtube for thousands of videos of penny boards etc etc snapping in half...the plastic flexes very well at first but after a while it can only flex so much before it gets weaker just like wooden decks...and the new penny boards are very low quality the old ones were great but everyone will agree new penny boards suck. i know we're not talking about penny boards but the concept is the same for all plastic boards they do snap after a while. but you won't be able to do any tricks on a cruiser board unless you're referring to just doing a sex change (jump and twist around to face the other way) or very very simple things that are not really tricks at all...honestly i would suggest you get a standard shape skateboard you will feel just as comfortable have just as much speed if not more and be able to learn some simple tricks like ollie up curbs etc etc which you cannot do on a cruiser board...you basically push on flat ground and ride down hills which is very boring after bombing the same hill 20 times... depends on your area though i guess maybe you have alot of hills to ride down. long reply but i'm just trying to lead you in the right direction because it sounds like you're more interested in actually skating. but no matter what you do stay clear of plastic decks just youtube them snapping...i legit watched a video lastnight of 3 guys reviewing penny boards and one guys deck snapped before they could finish the video and all 3 decks were brand new...
@Skyee_AK8 жыл бұрын
+RageAgainstTheToyMachine wow thanks for the big reply lol. anyways i ended up buying a "krooked krash test" skateboard 8 inches.. been trying for a week but i have trouble balancing while riding, im a beginner, i triedd ollie and i feel lol
@rageagainstthetoymachine24108 жыл бұрын
+Aakash K Very very good choice going with a standard shape deck, but just keep riding around and eventually you'll become very comfortable riding and have alot more balance skating builds up your balance fast, don't worry about trying ollies or any tricks until you feel very comfortable just riding normally and even then it takes alot of time and practice don't worry :P my first ollie took me 3 months to do haha, but one thing i like to do for balance practice on rainy days when i can't skate i just lay my board down on carpet inside and try to balance myself on the back wheels only. its a manual while just standing still, its basically a wheelie on a skateboard if you don't know what manuals are haha youtube it and then just do them inside while standing still instead of moving like you will see in videos of manuals. it will build your balance up trust me.
@Skyee_AK8 жыл бұрын
+RageAgainstTheToyMachine thanks man. i will keep trying.. i mostly would like to cruise around .. maybe do basic tricks like ollie now and then... its all bout having fun isnt it 😂

150 penny? the classic ones are $99 plus tax, I think the most expensive would be the customized or the nickel which is around $120. but I don't know where you are and how the prices are there. the penny in this video is an original one which probably costed him 110 with tax already included
@connorg.548810 жыл бұрын

Wait so between the banana and the penny which has a smoother ride? I'm planning to buy one

I'm Ethan in the video, the one with the Banana board. Since the making of this video I have bought the Original Penny and I absolutely love it! In my personal opinion it rides better than the Banana, the Banana has more stiffness. That makes the latter better at speed, but the Penny for carving.
