Amry...you are amazing ....and even though I raised and showed Arabians and Appaloosas for over 40 years I have learned so much watching you start Penny on her path to becoming a great equine partner....and she is very smart ....wish I were closer to you as I have one I'd love for you to work with....if I were a bit younger I could do as you instruct....very similar to the way I always trained ....but at 76 ...my balance is gone and not quick enough to do any more.... looking forward to watching you and Penny continue your path to becoming an amazing team....

I have been watching 👀 your uncle Allen's channel. I'm seeing you're doing great job with Penny. I also have a cousin and her husband are great trainers with horses 🐎. Just in the pass one or two have been in movie, "Monte Walsh," staring Tom Selleck. The Canada 🇨🇦 TV show the worked a one hores on Heartland. Actress Amder Marshall. They both graduated from Risk college of Idaho. I'm sorry but I am proud of them both. Great job to you and maybe you could of have a hofse in the show Yellowstone or Heartland too.
@debbys-abqnm45372 жыл бұрын
Jack Schaefer wrote _Monte Walsh,_ _Shane,_ and many novels and shorter stories I've had the pleasure to read. I can't recall any story in which a gun appeared, but there were plenty of regular folks, including Native Americans, all written very realistically. Schaefer was smart about horses and saw them as much wiser than silly cattle (and the horses knew it!)

Penny has an admirer (other than ys humans out here watching). That large, brown/red, well configured horse with a blaze down his/her face was watching from the other side of the fence and was quite interested in what the youngster was doing. If the mystery horse is one you trained and a friend of yours, feel free to tell us about him/her and how Penny seems to think about him/her. Penny's future owners may be interested in how she reacts to new horses 😄
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
Haha! I was wondering if anyone would notice the other admirer we had during this lesson. That horse's name is Milo ... he is a horse I sold to a friend but he was staying at our house for board while she was out of town. Him and Penny get along well ☺️

Your video was at the top of my feed when I logged in and I was excited to watch it! Thank you for sharing your time with those of us who find this type of work fascinating. Your cousin Alan, on his channel recently demonstrated using his thumb at the corner of a colt's mouth preparing to give a deworming paste. So I found that part of your training very interesting while prepping for a bit. I noticed that at the start of Penny's bucking you went straight toward her and increased your intention energy. It was compelling viewing throughout!. You're a very good teacher!

Thank you so much for the support and kind words Laura! I am so happy that you enjoyed this video ☺️☺️ and I really appreciate feedback! Alan deworming is a perfect example of why they need to know how to open their mouth. More to come soon!

Amry, you’re a pro! So cool to watch Penny’s journey! Thanks! How many hours a day/week are spending with her at this point? Where did you hone your craft (the family farm?)? Who’s your Obi-Won?
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
Wow thank you so so much! I really appreciate it. I have been obsessed with horse since I was a little kid and thankfully my dad let me follow my passion. He always made sure I had horses and he taught me a lot as a kid. I wanted to be able to do all the cool things I saw other people doing on TV with their horses. I watched thousands of hours of horse training videos on KZbin... KZbin taught me so much. I have also spent a few years with other local horse trainers or ranch owners in Arizona and Idaho. I have two role models that I have had since I began my horse journey - Clinton Anderson and Fallon Taylor. - I will work Penny about 5/6 times a week for 1-2 hours.

Negotiations, does the wind cause some confusion at first.
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
I would say yes... the wind can make them hear things that distract them. It is in their instinct to be on the look out for dangerous things and wind can make it harder for them to be aware :)

Also with horses. Their is no equal either between horse and rider or between their herd mates. You must be the dominant leader or they will dominate you.
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU for understanding that!! yes you are exactly correct.
@ScooterMLS19602 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason why Penny is not allowed to drink before having her think session? Does that break the sequence?
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mary! Great question... yes part of the reason is that I do not want to break the sequence. The other part is that I want to give my horses time for their bodies to cool down. A hot sweaty horse that drinks can colic or get a gut ache. Overall I just prefer to wait a while after working them ☺️☺️

Horses are afraid of things above them as they they think it s a predator
@cnahorses2 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly!!
@debbys-abqnm45372 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking that whips remind horses of snakes, which are a predator (of a kind) that might haunt a horse's genetic nightmares. Similar to cats apparently fearing cucumbers...!
