Didn’t hit me until far later that her and Nicole share the same va and suddenly it all sorta made sense Whether or not it was planned and intentional that the same va would secure both roles is something I doubt But it’s still pretty interesting how penny shares a lot of similar traits to Nicole but if she were just younger, more chill and nicer; but the bursts of anger, dignified maturity and ESPECIALLY dry wit are 100% still there Ik some people will find that world ending, but honestly I find the subtle inflection differences between the voice just made a penny a much more adorable character and pair for gumball. I loved their relationship but was never really “rooting” for them growing up, it always just sorta just felt like an obligatory crush to me. Gumballs a nice bf but I never felt anything strong towards this aspect of either of them. And while i still feel this way mostly, this video, your comment and this fact/difference between Nicole and Penny actually makes me genuinely think for once that maybe there is a little more to them then 12 year old me thought.
