Pens Inks No Spend - how’s it going

Goodmorning everyone,
Thank you for tuning in and watching. It’s been a busy few weeks in our family with lots on.
Just thought I would share with you the pens I have written dry already this month, pen and ink pairings that I had to troubleshoot, as well as my no spend and how it’s going.

It's fantastic that you sorted the Click Falcon. It is frustrating to have a problem that you can't get to the bitumen of. Now you've done it! Good on you for persevering with your no-spend; you've done well. I love your envelopes. I think you've given a lot of people some incentive to make their own.

I’ve been on a no-buy myself and I agree that it has gotten easier over time. I’m still tempted at times but I find when I hold off a day or so, the temptation fades. Also, your envelopes are lovely.

Lovely video Jayne! Congrats on your no buy success. I have been restless buying inks and pens lately. I blame it on pregnancy hormones. But I’ve also sold quite a bit of pens that didn’t bring me joy or weren’t comfortable to write with. I probably need a no buy soon!

Hi Brittany, that is great that you have found what works for you. In the past I have sold pens to buy new ones that I wanted to try. Not sure how long I will do this but for the moment I’m happy with this plan. Have a great weekend lovely 😊

Hi Chris, I can’t remember the last time I bought envelopes, I just enjoy resourcing whatever I have on hand to make them, reduce, reuse, recycle I say ♻️😂 I hope you are able to find some papers around the house to make your own envelopes, makes them so unique and special! Have a great week 😊

That is such a amazing idea to make your envelopes out of magazines! I am doing the same thing with my budget. I have £25 per paycheck that I can spend + funds from selling pens and other things that I am not using. I'm trying to use the funds a little more thoughtfully.

I absolutely love your envelopes, such a fun way to be creative but also it's so lovely that you then send them off to pen friends! Definitely inspired me to see if that's something I could do! I was supposed to be on a no spend after getting carried away with the little platinum meteor pens (I got like 9 of them!) but then there was an offer on a Pilot E95s that was just absolutely too good to pass up. So I've had to reset the clock on the no or even low spend, but it's a pen I have wanted for ages so it felt like I shouldn't deny myself something I know I want if I could afford it rn. I definitely want to try for no pens purchased in July now though!

As a fellow Australian, I had a chuckle over what you said about the Jack Frost ink The surprise for me is the combination of Moroccan Mint Tea ink in the Sailor Pro Gear Slim - Blue Green Nebula. It makes me wonder if I should purposefully have one *_"crazy"_* combination inked up each month

Oooo, did you get the stamp version of those bottles and ink rating? Does that work better for you than the stickers? xD I remember when you did that as an experiment a month or so ago. Really love the organized setup xD some of my inking videos start very very disorganized, but then I retake them with an organized look for a video haha! I find that when I buy so many pens in a row, I either have recency bias with just writing with them or I start to feel like, "oh my gosh I have too many of these same pens" because the user in me can't catch up to using everything I like to collect. So it's an internal struggle, but in the end, I still feel happy to have specific pens in my colleciton if they are meant to be there and have a special meaning to me. Some pens, I think back on them, and re-evaluate their worth in my collection and I will deem that some pens just were bought on a whim and it has no meaning to me right now - those I will feel like selling. Others, I get this special feeling when I think about losing that pen from my collection, and that's how I know to keep a pen rather than just selling it because I didn't use it in a while.

Hi Lao, absolutely 💯 this hobby looks different for everyone and what works for one person may not work for another. Yes I ended up getting the stamp set as well. It wasn’t expensive and I can see myself using it over and over again, however I bought downloads of some of their other stamp sets so I can create my own stickers with them.
