You should make these jobs into video series so you can show a lot more of the process. It's very interesting to watch

Thank you so much for your comment and watching my channel appreciate it. I did do a trailer for a show called MegAdocks out of California one time but I don’t think it ever took off at least they never called me lol maybe I wasn’t the personality they needed. 😄 It is very interesting as you say that’s why I enjoy my job so much and still being out in the field doing it.

I’ve used helical piers in the residential work that I’ve done in the past. Would those ever be used for hold backs or any other application in your sea walls ? I’ve only used them in specific situations but I always want to learn something new from someone like yourself who is a real pro
@DaleWHickman6 ай бұрын
Hey Brian thanks for your question and watching my channel. I thought about the Piers myself but it’s additional equipment needed to install those. I’ve got the equipment now to install the Manta-Rays, but I am quite impressed with the Piers .

Hi y’all thank you so much for watching my channel in your comment. I really appreciate kind words! I wish we could too, but we are pretty backed up over here and I like to be able to go home every night and sleep. We use concrete slats what we in Carolina is called pig slats but we use those instead of those metal catwalks any ideas why they don’t use that over in your parts?
@DaleWHickman5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching my channel and your question not really sure what that is. Sounds like it might be pretty heavy also.
@seancasey24446 ай бұрын
Do you build the walls with concrete sometimes or just the metal.Down here in south east Florida all the walls are concrete .
@DaleWHickman6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and question. Majority of our walls are vinyl and wood at times we do a concrete top cap. We have nothing but sand here so easy to install stuff in the ground. I don’t really care for Concrete; myself because of its ability to soak up salt water causing rebar to expand and crack the concrete. There is fiberglass rebar which cost a lot more money as well. As you may know.

Is there a reason why the new sea walls are not being built higher for the increase height of salt water in the near future?
@DaleWHickman6 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching my channel in your comment Robert typically we build them just a little bit lower than the elevation of the lot so they drain properly. A lot of times it’s customers preference where they would like their wall elevation. Sometimes it’s even government regulations as far as the elevations that they are allowed to be in certain areas.

WHY don't you just drive interlocking stainless steel piers behind the wood , then remove the wood and back fill with sand ???

Thanks for your comment and question there was two more walls behind the front wall. We would of had to give up a couple feet of property and it is very expensive on Pensacola Beach. It was very narrow at one end as it was.

@@DaleWHickman short sighted people dale...they dont realize all the good that comes from the wealthy...take superyachts for example....building one superyacht employs hundreds of skilled laborers across many industries so next time dont hate on the guy for having that yacht thank him! he couldve just horded the money and hundreds of workers would not have been employed for years at a time
