If you have not looked this group up it's worth a visit to Wikipedia. The three primary singers Mitch, Scott and Kirsten all went to high school together in Arlington, TX. They won a talent show on NBC called Sing off and were on their way. They do not have a bad video. What's really interesting is that they make up their arrangements as a group through trial and error. There is no music put to paper. Thay have a marvelous sound and are the best acapella on the current scene IMHO.

Welcome to the family! It’s been 7 years and they still blow me away. There are too many songs to name, but Sound of Silence (with the new bass, Matt), Say Something, Gold, all the ‘Evolution of’ songs, Daft Punk (their first Grammy), Jolene with Dolly Parton (3rd Grammy), and any/all of their Christmas music. Basically everything on their channel. Enjoy!!

I used to be part of a community choir - our choir leader & his wife went overseas on holiday, and we had 3 weeks with other people taking the lead - I'm was in my mid 40s - and was one of the YOUNGEST members of the group - by far - (about 50 people) we were fortunate that one woman played piano - she started this up *every.single.person* knew the WORDS to this song - one of the highlights of my entire life!

Pentatonix got their start by winning the a capella singing competition, The Sing Off, in 2011. Their competition performances are available on line . And they got better with each competition performance. You should watch those videos in order, to get a feel of where they came from. Avi, the bass, left the group because the touring schedule was getting him down, and he wanted to return to the nature of Northern California which is what he grew up with. He formed his own group, Avriel and the Sequoias, and their videos show the relationship he has with nature He now has a new song out that's a solo, Change on the Rise. Kirstin Maldonado also performs solo. Her solo work is magnificent. She also performed on Broadway, in the musical "Kinky Boots". Kevin Olusola, the beat boxer, is an accomplished cellist and does a lot of solo electronic work. He's worth checking out, as well. Scott (the blond guy) and Mitch (the guy with the high voice) have a side project, Super Fruit, on their own KZbin channel. They not only have outstanding music, they also do a lot of comedy work on their channel. Avi was replaced by a new bassist, Matt Sallee. So far as I know, he doesn't yet do any solo work. (Please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong).

I had the same reaction to Pentatonix the first 20 or 30 times I heard them! And then all of a sudden Mitch starts singing in his upper register and it's so beautiful ! I think he has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard on a man . I'm madly in love with his Angel voice! Can't get enough, it's so beautiful! But still after years and years of listening to their music I forget that it's only voices making all of the sounds I'm hearing. I'll be in the middle of one of their songs, moving to the beat, then remember that I'm listening to a voice not an instrument and then I have to stop like you do in the middle of a song. Time for a reality check, take a deep breath and then turn it back on again! I just really love this group and how creative they are. Thoroughly enjoying your reactions! New subscriber here! Avi left after 6 years because they work so hard and he wanted to live a slower pace life, around family. It was a shocker. They have another Bass that's done 3 albums, 3 tours and the Fandom loves him. I'd like to hear something with Matt in it soon! 😊

Hello from Holland. I love seeing your expression when hearing them. Please react to daft punk. They won a grammy for that. They also won a grammy for dance of the sugar plum and jolene. And yes that is mitch singing. They startet on the sing off season 3 in 2011. Scott, mitch and Kirsten grew up together and they found Avi through friends and Kevin on KZbin. They met 1 day before their sing off audition and win the whole show. That is how good they are. Maybe start there.

Nobody will ever top Queen's original version, but that's probably the best cover you'll hear. And to do it acapella is just insane. The way they capture the feel of the original (right down to the left/right speaker fade in the opening) is part of the tribute they wanted to pay to Queen in covering their masterpiece.

Subscribed, fellow Aussie here. Make sure you get people to upvote their requests, it will save you a lot of time scrolling. I would avoid reacting to Pentatonix (PTX), Christmas covers until, well Christmas. Your subscriber base will grow a lot more then as well, you will get "Mary did you know" requested a lot, this will keep people happy if you give them this one, leave the rest until December. To give you a few PTX genres to listen to: Gold, Can't hold us, Radioactive, Daft punk, Jolene. Another artist to listen to is dimash kudaibergen start with his SOS performance.

Once you react to Radioactive, you might want to hit Papaoutai and then dip into Lindsey Stirling's channel (the violinist they collab with for both songs), at least for Master of Tides. The video is a lot of fun to watch, and was my little guy's favourite for quite a while. :) Aaaand Shatter Me, with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.

Dude, really you have so much to listen to. Did you know there is rarely any music backing them up. That music you hear is Avi and Ben with not only great vocals amazing sounds backing up the extraordinary vocals. Start from the beginning!!!! So excited for you. SING OFF the one video with all of the songs they did. shows their process. Avi left and he took something with him. See if you see that with the new bassist they got. so much fun watching you discover many people's favorite group. Certainly my favorite group. Also, like 2 Cellos if you haven't seen them but that is power instrumental.

Welcome to the world of Pentatonix! 😀😍 I am going to enjoy your reactions. Any and all suggestions by others ....just close your eyes and pick. You won’t be disappointed. Imagine is fantastic not only the music but the message. I think most of what Pentatonix became famous for was covers of other artists AND made the covers sound better than the original artist 😍, but they have also written and performed their own songs - suggest Run to You. You’ll love it. Listen to the melding of the voices as well as their weaving of their voices. They always create something truly beautiful.

Keep gravitating to these kind of groups and your site will blow up. A good personality coupled with reactions to good music seem to be the fast lane to reaction success. The fact of your obvious enthusiasm for beloved artists and groups joined to your apparent lack of experience with them works. Avi (the bass) has been with the group 7 years, I think, the discussion was that he was having trouble keeping up with the tour schedule with all his side gigs that have blown up in the past couple of years. We will keep feeding now that you have shown a willing spirit. PS the bird is a nice touch.
