@@lleylannastewart I was at that show! My complaint is that JBA has terrible acoustics. I am from Greenville, hopefully Concerts will be back in 2021. I want to see them in a great arena. I saw Dave Matthews outdoors in Charlotte, it was terrible, the sound mix sounded as if he was mumbling. I could not even sing along. I was so excited to see him. I went to South Africa in 2016 and fell in love with preserving Rhinos and Elephants. He sells things at his Concerts to help those efforts. The best arena in our area is outside Atlanta. I can't remember the name, Exfinity maybe. We have seen Hall and Oates, Tears for Fears and U2 there. There are hotels near most Concert venues that will shuttle you to and from, without having to worry about parking.

Perhaps it's time for some introductions. Megaphone Man (I like that by the way) is Mitch Grassi. Voted by the members as the best singer of the group. I tend to agree. The Girl is Kirstin Maldonado. Best Mezzo Soprano by far. My opinion, of course, but if you disagree, you're wrong. :) The Tall Blonde Guy is Scott Hoying. Great Baritone in his own right. The Bass Guy is Avi Kaplan. Has been known to register on seismograph equipment occasionally. The Human Sound Effect is Kevin Olusola. Respectable Tenor in his own right. Sings occasionally. Human 808. Has more sound effects at his command than all of the Walt Disney Corporation. Plays a massively wonderful Cello. Saying these kids are good is a massive understatement.

No, it is not. You need to look again, Samantha. When Tara first comments on the addition of the wind, Kevin is singing WORDS and Avi is the WIND. At times, it IS Kevin making the wind (like when you hear the bass notes) and, at times, it is BOTH of them. (I wouldn't be surprised to see that others in the group added to it as well.) They work so well together and add so much to the group. The trio would not be as good with the addition of 4 and 5.

Tara, you are awesome! I enjoy every moment of your videos! I didn't think there was any way this vocal arrangement could be improved, but I have to agree with the two suggestions you did make, regarding the grit and the dynamics. Two little points that you might be interested in: 1) When they do this live, Mitch doesn't use the megaphone, and he still sounds like a guitar. 2) Pentaholics cringe when people refer to "THE Pentatonix." The preferred form is simply "Pentatonix," as in "I've heard Pentatonix many times now" or "I love Pentatonix." But just as you forgave Mitch, I will cheerfully forgive you, because your reactions are, indeed, awesome.

Great reaction! I have seen this before and been amazed for sure! I just caught on to the homage they are paying specifically at the 8:05 mark (5:05 mark in the original video) to Dr Brian May, Queen's guitarist, who is an atstrophysicist -as they voice emulate Brian's guitar solo, they are showing the perseid meteor to the sound of his emulated guitar - that is genius!

I was following a Pentatonix thread (reaction videos) on KZbin when I found you. I found you easy to look at and listen to. You are intelligent and well educated in music, your observations and criticisms are gentle but pointed, and the mastery you have over your voice is astounding. You Tube and other media platforms change their algorithms frequently and when they do, some channels rise and others fall. Those channels rising and falling are collateral damage or blessing. I suspect KZbin recently made some algorithmic changes that resulted in you rising. Today Facebook reported a 50 million customer data breach so those on Facebook should expect changes. Never in a million years would I have ever typed into the search bar "vocal coaches" but you popped up and I am very glad. Keep up the good work.

During live versions of this song on their newly finished tour, Mitch gave his first part of the solo a lot more emotion. Maybe you'd want to check them out sometime so you don't have to "forgive" Mitch as there would be nothing to forgive (but maybe you wouldn't be really happy with the way he shapes the "mEE" vowel sometimes haha). I've always thought Mitch's voice belongs in musical theatre and those performances confirm it for me. It would be great too if you would react to Superfruit's Hip Hop Goes Broadway videos. They're really fun and they have great vocal moments and it'll be interesting to hear your thoughts about it :)

Mitch is a tenor and has the solo for most of this cover. Scott is the baritone of the group and the tall man with blonde hair. Obviously they figured it out because this is amazing. Just a side note: The bass, Avi Kaplan studied opera in college and the beat boxer, Kevin Olusola, picked up beat boxing as a hobby in high school. He also plays piano, saxaphone and is a classically trained cellist. As if that isn't enough he graduated from Yale with a degree in pre-med and Asian studies. Please review their Christmas music especially the more dramatic ones like Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen but then also the more fun ones like O Come All Ye Faithful and Joy to the world but then the really simplistic ones like White Winter Hymnal and Away In A Manger plus everything in between with the Christmas songs. . I wanna see what you think of them.

I would love to see you react to Pentatonix singing Imagine. I would also love to see you react to the newest version of "Mitch Grassi's Vocal Range (A1-B7)". I absolutely love your reactions and critiques.

Please react to Hallelujah by Pentatonix, Break a Little (Kirstin), or Future Friends (SuperFruit)
@ScoHet6 жыл бұрын
Yes to all this! Break A Little (Acoustic) (Live From The Shadowland Foundation) is the one I would suggest. (right off Kirsten's own channel)

Scott that would be a great one, but it hardly matters because she sounds basically exactly the same because she’s such a good vocalist
