Hi. Can you please react to legendary Russian rock band Kino song Calm night? It's rock music masterpiece. You will be surprised so great music you never heard. Lot of bloggers from different countries really like this band and song. Now really interesting your reaction too. Original from 80s. Audio with more than nine million views.

I call this one, “Scott is sneaking in from off camera to blow your mind” song? It is 3 times that he comes in from off camera? 😂 And Matt, finally Matt!!! They are on another level and I think it is because all five of them are on another level at the same time, the right time. Just so great! 💕

I always look forward to your reactions & analyses of Pentatonix. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been listening to them for, if you’ve seen them live, if you’re a newcomer to them…they somehow ALWAYS find a way to surprise us with their amazing vocals, whether it be an original song or one of their covers.

I absolutely LOVED this reaction! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and personality with us. And thank you for recognizing how the group surrounded and faced Kevin during his solo to show him "respect." Too often, he and Matt (and previously Avi) are overlooked and not given the recognition and respect they deserve for the incredible talent they bring to the group, which is absolutely needed/required to round out the amazing sounds of PTX.

When I saw that you were going to be reacting to this song, I got really excited - I knew there were a lot of surprises in store for you, and a lot of details in how PTX performed this song that you would appreciate - and details you would catch that I haven't, even though I've heard it a couple of dozen times (at least!) by now! In some ways, this arrangement seems kind of a throwback for PTX - usually when they switch off leads like they did here, Kirstin will have a solo section that's as long as the Mitch and Scott, but here Matt took a lead instead, and Kirstin stayed in the backing vocals for nearly the entire song - kind of reminiscent of how she performed back in the early days, when she stayed out of the limelight more. And Kevin! That "bay-bee" at the end of his cello solo just shocks everyone, especially those that haven't really heard him sing before! A couple of interesting visual bits that you may have missed on first hearing, because you were concentrating on the vocals: When Scott does his "shock" entrance, both Kirstin ad Mitch reach up simultaneously to their in-ear monitors and make some kind of adjustment - don't know what they did, but it's a little unusual for them both to do it. Kirstin often adjust her IEM during live performances, but Mitch doesn't seem to do it very often, so I'm really curious as to what they were doing with them. Also, towards the end of Kirstin's (too short!) lead, Kevin reaches out with his foot to adjust the sound of his electric cello from "normal" to "electric guitar" for his cello solo. Always a joy to see Kevin playing cello - you can see from his face how much he loves playing it. Really looking forward to another Pentatonix "week" of reactions!

I love how you noticed so many of the nuances and background singing as well as the stellar leads. There is really something about this performance that feels like a step up for Pentatonix in their evolution and makes me wonder if there is any limit to where they can take their work. There is a sort of organized looseness to this that I can't imagine would be possible if they hadn't been singing together for so long. Fantastic reaction!

Part of what makes Pentatonix so amazing, and often accused of electronic layering is the fact that with 4 to 6 octive vocal ranges on so many of the members they can make it sound like effects when actually it is two or three of them hitting the same note at the same octive and the same timber or just a half note offset. There have been so many times it frustrates me that reviewers say "You can hear the layering and effects they have previously recorded." when it was just that PTX is that skilled.

Another great reaction. I love the way your excited and "awe" personality shines through.. What really surprised me is that Kirstin did not take Mitch's second verse since she didn't really get featured unlike all of the rest, which is rare.
@TeapotNinja10 ай бұрын
It is an interesting choice but I love that it forced me to listen to what she was doing in the background. In so many of their songs, particularly the early ones, Kirstin has always had this exceptionally intricate and powerful glue-like ability without necessarily stepping into the lead and it's kind of nice to have it back for a whole song! Very nostalgic.

VEVO is the company that posts a lot of videos on KZbin for various labels and content creators (and also helps with the blocking), but they also create originals content, including VEVO Live videos like this. They invite artists to one of their multi-million-dollar, state-of-the-art studios to record live versions of their music. There are over 1,000 VEVO Live videos on KZbin, but I think this was the first from Pentatonix. They also did a VEVO Live version of their "Pure Imagination / Christmas Time is Here" mashup (you reacted to the official video recently.)

I so much appreciate your analysis and technical contributions! Plus, your voice and personality are lovely :) One small note, I'd be interested to learn if its just me, but in your videos I'll often get a pop/crackle that I don't get in others. Perhaps a sample rate, peaking, or other software issue during busy audio or processing moments? (there are a couple examples around the 2:23 and 13:30 marks) Or maybe a mic or other cable that gets bumped and shorts a bit? Not a big deal, but I'd want someone to tell me so I'm sharing with you. Have a great day! Looking forward to the next one :)

This is on their 2023 Christmas album. When Scott was asked why because it's nowhere near a Christmas song he said that having done so many Christmas albums you run out of songs he then said because this song mentions snow at the beginning that that was good enough for him and it goes on the Christmas album. I looked through your playlist and did not see any Dan vasc. He does a cover with violet orlandi which is gorgeous. Her voice is stunning. If you haven't checked him out please do it's well worth your time. Another song that PTX put out and there's only a visualizer for it is called I Rise. It does have one that have the words written across it. Scott's well-tuned well-developed well-nourished voice really really comes through

That makes sense though since the PTX-version doesn't seem to try for a cry. It's way more rock and anger and intensity, while the original is very low energy and pulled back. They are doing two totally different things, so makes sense that if you love the original that this will not hit the same. Because they are not going for the same thing.
