I love the lyrics of this song. Kirstie wrote it. We all need that person who will love us when we are struggling to love ourselves. It’s very relatable and beautiful.

There is another version of this out there on the Kelly Clarkson channel. They did this for the Kelly Clarkson show and it was recorded live. All the artists are doing this right now during the Covid thing. What they did is after the show they gave it to their video editor and he did some video editing magic with the video portion to make it more visually interesting but the vocals are a live recording.

This is an original by Kirstie. They definitely see each other as family and are there for each other. Kevin feels that way about his wife, Leigh (They are now parents as of last week) I know Scott and Mark, who are partners, are there for each other. Matt and his fiancee, Sarah, are there for each other, and they are all there for Mitch. Their parents are very supportive as well. If you want to see their parents, find the Pentacom with parents on KZbin. It is like comicon, but with Pentatonix fans. They ask questions of their parents. The most recent one in 2019 is the best I think. All the parents came. I'm happy you appreciate both their music, arrangements, and compositions.

The audio was recorded live in the studio, the video edited, then debuted on Kelly Clarkson. As such, it is a different version than the recording on the album, but PTXOfficial is now calling this version the "official video". This is the same thing they did with The Lucky Ones and the "live" version of Coffee In Bed. Kirstie wrote this, and the subject is very similar to another Kirstie song from the album, Be My Eyes (she actually wrote about half of the songs on the album). She's airing a lot of her personal problems in her songs lately, a very therapeutic way of getting better...and I applaud her for it. Also, she gave everybody in the group a chance to shine in this one.

I am really liking your more recent reactions. What I like is how the music takes you. So many reactors ramble on about their appearance, and they keep talking through the music like they don't even hear it, but you concentrate on the music first, and the lyrics are second. Their vocal sound is so pure and unique that even without lyrics their songs are spectacular.

As other comments mentioned, this was a live recording (with maybe reverb put on the chanty stuff, I can't tell) with an edited video for The Kelly Clarkson Show, since Covid makes it really hard to actually be physically at the recording of the show. If you're looking for an actual video of a live performance on a stage, check out their performance of Hallelujah from their live Christmas special, or their 2016 Popspring performance which includes 4 songs. Both can be found on KZbin and both feature their first bass, Avi, instead of Matt as they performed them before Avi left the band.

My interpretation is that the recording was made live, with all members singing at the same time in the studio and with minimal post production effects. The song was then used for their typical video format, with lots of cuts and camera work.

"Live" in this case means they sang during the video recording instead of playing the audio track and lip-syncing to it (how they would do it when filming an official video). You can hear the difference if you compare it to the audio version on the album - which definitely is worth checking out. There are so many more layers to get lost in. If you have trouble concentrating on the lyrics, you could look them up before or after recording the video. I sometimes have the same issue, of not getting the lyrics with the first listen. That's why the replay button is your friend when the artist is Pentatonix. ;) Love your PTX reactions, keep them coming!
