"I thought 2020 would be the year I got everything I wanted. Now I know 2020 is the year I appreciate everything I have."
@mareebee70464 жыл бұрын
This is so true. It took me a while to figure out why this year is happening the way it does. Cause I believe everything happens for a reason. And yes. It’s the year to appreciate everything I have. For years I’ve been taking things for granted. And everyone was getting that way. The whole world and I could see it. I kinda think 2020 was a “pause” kind of like a reminder to love all the things you have in your life. Because they could be gone so quick.
@rosegranger28724 жыл бұрын

I'm struck by how they ALWAYS serve the music first. This song is almost entirely Scott's. The lead stays with him, the rest strictly harmony. And Kevin's cello, which works extraordinarily well with this song. Only at the very end do the others chime in on the words, with only a couple of lines. The harmonies are gorgeous. I can relate to this on a spiritual level almost. Just a short month ago, I was deciding what method of suicide I wanted to use. I'd been listening to their cover of Mad World and just decided I couldn't do this anymore. Then I got a notification for Be My Eyes, and despite all the pain, I decided to listen to it. And it changed something in me. I started obsessing over all of their songs. Which is weird for me because although I am familiar with their most popular covers, I don't really listen to their style of music. But the more I listened, the more obsessed I became. I started watching all their music videos. Then other videos. Livestreams. Then I found Superfruit, when it was just Scott and Mitch. And I became consumed by them. And somewhere along the line, I realized I didn't want to kill myself anymore. That these people whom I barely knew, made me feel like I mattered. And I can't tell you what that felt like. Because I had not mattered to anyone in many, many years. So I reached out for the help I needed but could not admit I needed, and I'm still here. They got me through the absolute worst time of my life, and that is saying a lot considering my life of abuse, PTSD, molestation, anxiety, depression, divorce and hospitalization. And I am not exaggerating when I say if it weren't for them, I would not be typing this. And yes Pentatonix, Thank You.

Thank you Lyric Oh, Lord, it's been a year With little joys and little fears It's finally here, Christmas day My love, I need some hope A little faith, a hand to hold It's awfully cold, Christmas day Watch the snow fall down like me sometimes But you pick me up and then pick me up again Like the winter leaves I can't survive Without your light Thank you for your smile It's warmer than the fire Your gentle laughter Is sweeter than a choir I'll never know The right words to choose So all I can say Is thank you We fell into the snow And talked about growing old So here's to a hundred more Christmas days This house will be our home And my heart will be your own As the candles glow, Christmas day Watch the snow fall down like you sometimes But I'll pick you up and then pick you up again Like our winter tree on Christmas night It needs some light Thank you for your smile It's warmer than the fire Your gentle laughter Is sweeter than a choir I'll never know The right words to choose So all I can say Is thank you Thank you Spent all this time hanging lights But I'm just blinded by your eyes I look outside, the ground is white But you and I should probably stay inside Thank you for your smile It's warmer than the fire Your gentle laughter Is sweeter than a choir I can't believe This year you've got me through The least I can do Is thank you

This song makes me want to cry so much. My dad passed away on Thanksgiving this year. And now he won’t be here for my birthday or Christmas. I don’t know what to do and feel numb and lost, but I know I can make it. I can make it through all the pain because I have family and friends by my side.

Dear Emma, I know it hurts, and it will continue hurting. But know this, also the loving memories are at your side, and in your heart, and they stay loving memories. My Dad passed 20 years ago, and I still remember how he loved us all. Wishing you well, and strength in a tough time.

I'm so sorry. We lost my father in law a few years ago, 3 days after I married my husband. I thought going through that would make it easy to find words to comfort others, but it didn't. I don't think adequate words exist for these situations. What I will say is that your grief will feel like giant waves for a while - it will crash into you suddenly and intensely. As time passes, the waves will happen less often. I expected the pain to lessen, but unfortunately it doesn't. It does get easier in a sense though. Now when we talk about my father in law, we can smile and laugh as we remember the good times with him. I recommend reading "you want a physicist to speak at your funeral", as it gave me great comfort on the hardest days. I will be thinking of you this holiday season and sending you a lot of warmth. I hope you find peace and comfort in the coming months.

This song is one that makes me cry every time. It came at a low point for me. 2020 was the hardest time I've been through, and while it makes me cry, it's always a good nostalgic cry. I'm not religious, so Christmas for me is a time to be with family. To carry on traditions that we do every year (Evergreen makes me cry for that reason, too). To celebrate the joy we feel every year. To hold the ones you love close and cherish them. Pentatonix always knows how to make Christmas feel even more special and nostalgic ❤❤❤

I hope your love made it out of the ICU ❤️ my friend’s husband was In The ICU with covid for 30 days before passing away this January. They missed their last Christmas, anniversary, and new year’s together. Seeing what she went through was one of the hardest things I’ve had to witness while feeling nearly helpless as a friend. Their love was the stuff of romance movies that only comes along once in a while. I pray that your outcome was a better one. Her name is Julie as well, which makes me wonder even more how your story ended…

The little play on Jingle Bells makes this feel all warm and nostalgic even though it's new and unfamiliar. The emotions are deep and the lyrics reach into your soul. Each scene in the video is a Norman Rockwell painting, or maybe a snow globe. If this wins awards, that would be great. If not, that's fine too... just know the joy this has brought to us and how amazingly gifted you are individually and collectively. Wishing you a joyful Christmas and a much more sane year in 2021!

During this difficult time, I have a lot to be thankful for. I still have a job, as do my parents. I have the knowledge that death is not the end, and I'll be able to see my loved ones again. I've been blessed with the gift of music, which I use to help those around me feel comfort and peace during their own struggles. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, and a bed to sleep on. I have a family that loves and cares for me, and supports me through my struggles. I have a God who loves me and wants to be happy. I have a Savior who sacrificed his life so that I could be forgiven of my sins. I have my church leaders who provide inspiring messages from God. So although I don't have the greatest health, and I struggle with depression and anxiety, I still have much to be thankful for. #GiveThanks
