Thanks Joao, I hope your keeping well? I'll keep on plugging away, just need more brain capacity to remember all the things I need to remember. More from me in the future Im sure.

Congrats all! Geoff your vids are great! You are just being to hard on yourself or maybe over thinking it, shoot on. Cheers!

We all go through those periods mate, highs & lows. Sometimes it's best not to look for perfection, instead just look to improve 1 small aspect of whatever it is your doing each time you do it. If you still have the content from those locations put some clips together in a totally different style then your use to producing? Looking forward to your lens review. Cheers

Thanks for the kind words Lee. Good enough is better than perfect! but not quite there is worse than a fail. And thats what im struggling with, Its the macro of the video creation that's driving me potty as i'll get 70% of it done, but not record a bridging segment between 2 thought processes or establish a link between one scene and another. or simply get distracted by pretty colours and lights :) I'm quite linear in thought progression, so missing steps screws me over when it comes to the building out of the video after the event. lol :)

Congrats to Lee Iverson, Lisa Huston and yourself Geoff on the sponsorship/Lens review! The images were great from everyone! Don't worry about the slump in video content. It's happened to me as well, I've started pre-planning all the segments, sometimes I shoot the middle first, then the end, then the beginning. I don't always do it in order. If I know the middle will be tricky, I'll focus and spend my time on that first, then do the rest later. Or, do some B role and use a voiceover instead (there's countless times where I just can't record video do to factors outside my control at the time).

Thank you kobie. I'm feeling a little more positive now some time has passed. I have reshot for the 10th time the lens review/impression video. Hope to have it out tonight.

I can definitely relate to the video stuff, it feels like a completely different art form to stills. Whilst there are crossovers in skills a lot is not. I feel 100% competent with photography but I cannot say that at all about videography (yet). So like anything its about doing homework, research and upskilling, short film courses etc. I have so many ideas but I cannot execute any of them due to either lack of necessary equipment but mostly skill (both in field and post). The biggest enemy however is time and motivation. I get paid for Stills so the justification of researching something related to photography is sound. Video currently makes me zilch, so investing time (which is money), or time away from family is harder to justify. I haven't even paid for Resolve Pro yet, still using the Free version because again its an expense that becomes hard to justify. I do hope in 2024 to master things better, and be able to offer some short video clips/reels to clients, and in this regard I hope it places videography back into the motivating realm whereby taking the time to upskill or invest in certain products pays off. Most of all though, just do it. All the competent YTers today had far inferior videos in years gone by. Like our Stills work, some older work is questionable, we see progression in our craft and video is no different. It's just with YT we are really putting ourselves out there. Try not to be overly perfectionist is my advice, you'll get more and more polished as time goes on. If you wait too long to try and gain that polish its likely to the detriment. YT shows that growth comes not from quality anyway but rather quantity.

Thanks Eddie. Totally get what your saying, and thank you for your feedback. Being reflective, and taking a step back im sure what i can do from a videography perspective is leaps and bounds over what I was capable of when I first started this, but so is my expectation and so it should be. I agree KZbin rewards quantity over quality for the most part. But i'm driven that my next video should be better than my last and that plays into the frustrations I have when the timing between videos can be lengthy due to work and family and learn by repetition isn't taking place. Meh! Gonna get a small violin for my next video :)
