Penuel probably you won't read this but if you do bro, allow your guest to express and finish their points above all let them express their train of thoughts. Rob wanted to share more however he you kept interrupting him. He had this burning point he wanted to share and he did not share. I hope you'll learn from this and grow. All the best bro.

Mate, what a great conversation. People want us to live under idealogies. We want to win, we wnat the country to win and our people to win. This has nothing to do with colour, race or class. Keep up the good work.
@afd4017

you can't "win" without a clearly defined identity. The consciousness of black people is rising all over the world finally. We're learning our history and gravitating towards intellect when our whole lives we were raised to worship white civilization and gravitated more towards arts & culture. We just need to now translate this movement into economic activity & nation-building. That's why we need platforms like Penuel's (who reminds me of Lex Friedman's podcast a little bit) to have these intelligent and practical discussions, to tell our stories and rebuild our country for all south Africans & ultimately the world

@@bungane_omkhulu This is naive at best. Apartheid is only ONE of the issues we face. The main issue is that the ruling party is actively NOT fixing the issues. I don't know if you know this but this man lives in CPT/Stellenbosch which is one of the best places to live in, in the world. Basically his still living in the first world luxury, nothing has changed. Also there's too much wealth in SA for white people to leave, the opportunities are endless all you need is access and he has that access and that is why he will never leave.

@phelelaninkabinde8522
@phelelaninkabinde8522 2 жыл бұрын
@@devol_1 well firstly you have to be close to the powers that be... basically what I'm tryna say is, it's all about your environment and who you know. It's very hard to access any knowledge about wealth when you live in an environment like a township where millionaires aren't accessible. A good example of having access is Penuel, he has access to Hersov and the chances of him landing financial assistant for a business venture are very high just by his association with the guy for example. There are many other ways to access wealth but having access to a mentor like Hersov is one way for example.

Love the reference to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. When those who have reached self actualization, and who extend a helping hand to those, who are still struggling at the bottom rungs of the hierarchy, then you know they have truly "actualized". Rob appears to be one such person. Because he gives a "damn" about the beloved country Loved the way Pen, conducted the conversation. He is a very intelligent and refreshing, young man and I'm hoping that , the majority of the young people of this country would catch his "fire". Where he's at, at the moment, is way beyond the malignant rhetoric, the obsolete paradigms, the failed ideologies and the emotive and destructive chants, that takes us nowhere pretty swiftly. So a big shout out to both you worthy gentlemen. Hoping there are going to be more and frequent pockets of constructive engagements like this one, spontaneously, occurring, across the republic which would turn our country right side up.

I am a South African living in Australia. I was once walking in Milnerton with a friend and his dog. In front of us was a woman with a dog. The dog made a big pile. The woman walked on leaving the poo on the beach. My friend had asked me many times about the difference between Australia and South Africa. I said to him. In Australia, we would have pulled out a poo bag and put the poo into the bin. However there is a sting to this tale. You see, everywhere you go in the World shit happens. In Australia, we hide it away in the bin. In South Africa, it's in your face.

Quite brilliant Robin. Truly. So simple and "in your face". Pity you left SA. The country needs people like you - with logic, common sense and integrity

There's something to be said about South Africa. South Africa is a unique country in that, it raises rich people that want to make a difference, whereas America just has a culture of profit at all costs. I like how sincere this guy is, and how involved he is in wanting to fight for this country.

Rich philanthropy was once considered a unique American phenomena. You don’t know American history.

@@Rbb0828 Not even Americans know their own history. And we always seem to put forward an overly optimistic version of history. And seeing that we are living here, American history is irrelevant. What is coming out of there CURRENTLY is much much worse.

Rob makes me happy when he says that he grew up in a wealthy family so unapologetically. We only ever hear of people who made it coming from disadvantaged families and sometimes people make us, who come from well-off families, feel like we are spoiled brats and do not deserve our success. We are also people who want to become independent and create our own prosperity.

Rob I have watched your meetings and you are an amazing forward looking person. And this particular session is particularly important. At 82 years old, I wud still like to contribute to the success of South Africa. I spent 35 yrs of life training and educating people in 3 different industries, I vote DA not sure how to go about contributing. 3 of my 4 children have left SA only 1 daughter still here

Thank you God Pen for this interview, it’s amazing how we can judge someone by just their skin colour without hearing them speak, I believe it’s because of the propaganda we have been fed over years which has been planted to try and divide us, when you can listen to the person and just hear what they have to say, you realise you are more alike than what you have been told. We needed to hear from Rob, and we need to hear from many others like him, that is how we build a better future based on values not skin colour.

Thank you Pen for a great interview. I agree with Rob, now is the time to start agitating. Get the conversation going, make our young people think of what they want for their future and how they will get it? I agree with both of you, enough is enough. This is the first of your shows that I've watched. I look forward to catching. Thanks for being a light...

This is very infromative and eye opening, hopefully we can have more platforms like this that provoke the kind of thought that helps move our country forward these guys are both true patriots of our nation and want the same bright future for our country yet they are not of one race truly inspiring.

Black, White, Brown, Indian (EVERYONE)... Let's pull together and make SA great again!!! Yes, we have our differences............. but we also have our similarities! We can dwell on our past and be forever hateful towards each other! Or we can look to the future together and make this place one of the greatest in the WORLD!!! Let's make this the Rainbow Nation it was meant to be!

The irony is that most MINORITY communities have been doing this for years, a generation of menial workers gave birth to generations of professionals, barring a few that want to hold on to a victim mentality and blame everything and everyone else, my parents were discrimated against under apartheid and then still discriminated against in a "democracy" but that never stopped us from doing our greater community in doing our best. We don't care what others think or say about us we just get on with the job. Live as a conscious citizen

Great conversation and hope more of these are taken heed of within a proudly South African context. Excited to see what sorts of projects your collaboration comes up with and do hope that you also include the voices of the uneducated which the majority of South Africans speak as a voice of. The old cliché of hearing what only the educated have to say, in my opinion, stifles the raw talent available in South Africa as the so called educated have been trained to think and act within a certain paradigm and afraid to colour out of the lines to actually bring about prosperity or change.
