Jett Lawrence talks about the steep learning curve that was the 2021 Supercross season, and that when it was all said and done he counted it as a failure.
It would seem like he has applied the lessons with a win at the opening round of the 2022 East Coast Supercross series. Easily coasting to a win over Austin Forkner and Cameron Macadoo.

It's funny because he's such a kid but when he needs to flip the switch he does a damn good job and is a smart littler wanker. Not to mention his race craft is heaps ahead of everyone! I would've been a Celebrity if i was in his shoes too but not because of how well kept I was. I'd be J-Law and then some out there just stirring shit up every chance i got. The kid is very impressive, that's for damn sure.

He represents Ireland and you represent Australia.Love your attitude and talent.You are doing everything correct to date.Keep your circle small and vibes good. Don't forget Hunter made you with his up and downs. He taught you what to do and what not to do.Be thankful of big bro!!!! Great SX championship! Proud of you, as should you be. That statment is the furthest from the truth. All of my motorcycle friends are in their mid 50s we talk about the old days and the kids that are killing it like Jett Lawrence. Our hopes are he's going to go as far as Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael. Supercross and Motocross are in desperate need of new Heroes.

There are a bunch of reasons , 90’s and 2 strokes was the era it was due to affordability . Was nothing to buy a 2 stroke and be competitive ect , 4 strokes and mapping ect have built a huge barrier to entry . Toss in the internet and streaming age and nobody being able to focus on , there are so many reasons why mx isn’t what it was and a ton of things that have to fall in place for it to get there . Racing culture has taken a huge shit now with the factory amateurs and chances of a dowd or even McGrath popping up is not likely . The farms with the year round kids and the nascar feel of it has shit all over racing . Deegan has tapped into something with the channel and he maybe a saving grace , but they keep trying to make Jett into something he isn’t and that Carrie’s stress too . Deegan is Gna be the celeb if cards are played right .

If he’s got 100 haters he should strive for 100 more... it just means he’s doing something right. As a American rider with 40 years of racing experience and closely following all aspects of the sport here and worldwide, he and his brother are exactly what our sport has been lacking. Hopefully the Lawrence boys personalities will rub off on the younger generation of MXers. The “I’d like to give it up to my sponsors” monotone bullshit drives me crazy. Be yourself. Make mistakes.Laugh at yourself. Be transparent. Be a kid. Enjoy your success. Jett and Hunter are doing it the right way.

James was certainly a superstar way more than Jett, he was talked about on ESPN, had a tv show, and his deal with Nike. But Jett has the POTENTIAL to get there and help grow the sport to reach a more mainstream audience. He has won me over and for his age work ethic and ability, he seems leaps above the current 250 class except for Craig and his brother and maybe Forkner.
@bones6554
@bones6554 2 жыл бұрын
JS7 was certainly a superstar and deserves notoriety. The only reason he was talked about so much is because he was a black man in a "white man" sport. He was a marketing tool to try and get black people interested in motocross. James was smart by taken the endorsements, "Get what you can, when you can" because nobody stays on top long.

Id like to think Jett & Hunter can keep each other grounded, remember where they came from, if 1 or the other is feeling it, the other steps up and grabs hold of the other. You only Suck if ya believe ya do. If you back yourself, win or loose your a winner in your own world, good people around you make the knockers invisible.

Hi Jett, live your life how you feel let them talk they know nothing about sacrifices, pain and passion. I live similar things every day, I am a sports journalist I have a program that only talks about Motocross, Supercross, MXGP (the program is called MotocrossMyPassion and is broadcast on TV every week for 60 '... ..) I often clash with the invisible "keyboard lions" and it is not possible to interact with them because they are firm in their beliefs. Don't let this affect you and always be yourself.
