@@ollie3746I kinda don’t agree with this… I’m very not into children and I have very strong views about pregnancy. If I had a pregnant roommate (a real roommate) I wouldn’t do much like cleaning up their vomit. Of course, if I go to the store, I’ll pick up things for them if asked. But as a roommate (a real one, again) it’s not my responsibility. The guy in the story, however, has responsibility over this pregnancy. So what he says just goes to trash and honestly that woman should leave the guy…

The sawdust thing reminds me of a court case with a company selling 'granola bars' that were made to help you lose weight, and they were actually mostly saw dust. Addendum, while it doesn't have to be dangerous when ingested in very small amountsfor a very small time, sawdust is definitely not harmless either. For one, you must be absolutely sure that the tree is not poisonous, and that there is nothing else in there besides sawdust, because you may very well poison someone if the wood has been treated with or exposed to chemicals etc. Secondly, sawdust can absolutely wreak havoc on the intestines, and can potentially cause permanent damage. It can even be lethal in the long term. Wood dust is also classed as a carcinogen.

My mom had hyperemisis gravidarum with both of her pregnancies; so bad that she lost weight in the first trimester, and even though my dad was working 75 MILES away one way, he still took care of her (and me with the 2nd pregnancy) as soon as he got home and went to all the drs visits. Literally what the hell

as someone with five half siblings (three on mom’s side, two from dad) if any of my sisters were given my name i would have been absolutely distraught. my brothers on my mom’s side are identical twins and their father gave them Both his first name, we’ve always called them by their middle names. even when i’d be accepted by my mom’s partners, there’s a certain type of isolation that comes from seeing her start a new family. it’s like she gets to start from scratch and pretend nothing happened before so to imagine those feelings with the new sibling literally being given my exact name??? nah i don’t wanna be around whoever made that choice, and i don’t know that i’d ever care to heal from that in any way that involves contact. that’s absolutely feral behavior.

At the beginning of the "pregnant roommate" story, I was on OP's side. I guess it depends a little on the situation but getting pregnant and then expecting your roommate to pick up the slack seems like...maybe not an asshole move, but certainly not the best possible idea. The pregnancy changes the entire dynamic and I don't think it's fair to assume that a roommate would just be okay with a baby in the picture, or for them to basically "be the dad". BUT HE ACTUALLY WAS THE DAD!?! That's wild. I did a complete 180 there. From "OP shouldn't be expected to suddenly play dad just because they're the pregnant lady's roommate" to "YOU'RE THE ACTUAL FUCKING DAD, MATE, SO DO YOUR JOB!" Holy crap, what an asshole. And that's not even mentioning referring to his actual wife as a "roommate".

I was the first boy born on my mother's side of the family out of all my cousins and my name starts with a K. The second boy also has a name that starts with a K, but his name was a very common traditional name in my mother's culture so that was okay. Then when I was 12, the third boy was born and his name was a regular English name, but instead of starting with a C, they decided to start it with a K (not so unlike my name). I felt a bit weirded out but it's not the biggest deal. When I was 19, the last boy was born, and his name shares the first 4 letters with my name. In school people constantly confused my name with that name. My aunts and uncles accidentally call us the wrong name now all the time. I'm doing okay, I'm an adult now and this isn't going to cause any trauma. But my youngest cousin who practically shares a name with me will no doubt see the similarities and be affected by it. I have heard every single one of my younger cousins be compared to me, and I don't even want to know how bad that's going to negatively affect them.

The "sawdust" one seriously made me angry and a bit terrified. I've dealt with depression for like 10 years now (better recently) and speaking just for me my eating habits and depression are related in the way that they both feed into each other. My depression gets worse it's harder for me to eat well and that makes the depression even worse and often when I'm able to start eating even a little bit better (which sometimes is due to depression getting a bit better and sometimes I just burn extra spoons for it) it makes my depression better. Sawdust is NOT THE FUCKING WAY to do it. I understand helping someone (with CONSENT) to eat better if that's not something that's easy for them, like maybe you can make sure there's a salad around so if they want to add that to their plate they can and things like that. But yeah, that sort of thing needs to be done with consent and clear boundaries, something like that is a violation on so many levels and she absolutely should leave him. Good his brother is going to make sure she finds out.

For the first post, the man doesn't just not know how to be a father, he simply doesn't know how to be an adult. By the sounds of it, the house wasn't just messy, it was disgusting. My house gets messy sometimes, having 2 kids that just happens. However, it's only ever toys being around the house. It's never dirty. The dirtiest it ever gets is if we have a baking day and there's flour in the kitchen. Sometimes you run behind and are late for things, that happens with kids, but getting to the point that the school call is outrageous. I used to be late for school on the day that my mum didn't have work (we lived too far to walk and my mum trashed my bike as a punishment, side note I paid for that bike with my own money) it got to a point I'd walk in and say "mums not at work today" the lady in the office would sign me in and just move on because it happened literally every week. I usually have to sit in the car for a bit or go to the local park because we are so early. My children will never be late for anything important.

If he only wanted a partner to have sex with he should not have gotten married and certainly they should not have had a child together.

I don't know his life, so I can't say if he did or did not have any kind of mental issues or neurodivergency or whatever else. The main issue we're pointing out here is fully assuming he didn't have any issues and it's solely his moral failing to not manage the situation correctly. That kind of attitude can be unproductive and harmful in the actual situation (maybe he specifically needed to be told off, I don't know), but more importantly broadcasting that kind of attitude sends a cruel and potentially harmful message towards the neurodivergent and mentally ill by invalidating any struggles one may face maintaining "normal" function.

I always love your earrings! You've inspired me to make my own earrings (I'm a crocheter and like to microcrochet little charms sometimes, which work great as earrings). I bought a couple six inch skeletons from my local craft store and am going to make them into earrings as soon as I have something I can attach them to.

This vid is honestly helping me get through my sinus infection, lol. They happen all the time (whenever the weather changes), but this one has been a bit rough--so thanks for making fun content I can enjoy.

Is it me, or do people go STRAIGHT to the internet instead of therapy??? 😭

Because therapy would actually help them and confirm they are, in fact, an asshole. Reddit likely won't.

Why would you go to therapy over an AITA issue? There may be many reasons why I maybe ought have therapy, but I've never go to therapy to resolve a problem typically share on the sub-reddit.

With that first one, I will say, vacuum, washing the floor, cleaning surfaces, that sort of thing, even cleaning the wc, you only need to do it once a week. That's enough, at least once a week. Shouldn't be that hard. And if you keep it clean, it's much quicker and easier to clean, than if you let it collect dust for a couple weeks or months. All the other days that you don't clean, it's just a matter of looking around for things to do. Things you should do every day is, get the kids to school on time, getting them home again, providing the kids and potentially the rest of the household with breakfast, dinner, and potentially lunch. Dishes should be cleaned at least once a day. I live alone, so I just collect dishes throughout the day and wash them after dinner. If you can keep up with this, that's good enough. It's much easier to keep it clean, than to clean.

As someone who was already feeling like a do-over kid in many regards for my father, I cannot imagine him giving me the same name has his first kid. My half-brother and I already don't have much of a relationship. How much worse do you think it would have been if when he met me for the first time my mom told him and his mom that I had the same name? Nope, sorry, that's creepy at freaking best. Both of these kids are going to resent their father, I just know it.
