It should just work. 3. Lotion. Bc why is lotion like $8???? Jergins and Vaseline better count their days 4. Decor. Absolutely no reason a pillow should cost that much. 5. Carrots. With cost of living so high some people can't even afford to buy or rent a house so I think this is why people are finding joy in the little things even if it's a stanley cup that they don't need or a pair of shoes

I have some ideas for your problems. However, you may be required to visit your neighbor's trash bins fairly regularly: 1) Take used thrown out olive oil from your neighbors' trash and filter it through several layers of old used t-shirts and you can reuse the olive oil for cooking. 2) Just collect your neighbors' trash bags under the premise of helping them sort out their recyclables, remove the recyclables to create the space for your own trash (Added bonus if you can get some money for the recyclables) 3) Use cloth towels 4) Make friends with your neighbor, buy a repeater to enhance the wifi signal and go halfsies on the wifi bills. If you really don't want to pay at all for wifi then hack into their wifi network and use it for free 5) Buy a prepaid phone and just pay for what you use and you will never have to pay a phone bill again Hope this helps...

Dave Ramsay is only correct about one thing, people have an income problem, not a spending problem. The economy is so unbalanced, you would need to be making minimum $250k a year as one person to even have a chance at capitalizing on your gains. When you have a mortgage and children, society is draining you of thousands of hours of wasted labor. I have reduced my spending, it still doesn't change the fact you need to make more. Making money is the hardest thing one can do in life. I don't care if you speak 4 languages fluently or invented something, it will be easy in comparison to being a rich parasite.

Stop spending . Maybe stop living ? This country is suffering from the epidemic of loneliness. People have to treat themselves to something nice to feel good for a little bit. Each to his own. If I buy lots of shower products, cause I am a soap enthusiasts , I spent money , but it gives me a pleasure when I shower with a good quality soap. That is why consumerism here is rampant. . It is a surrogate mother of what people need , social interaction, family, friends etc.

We have to be accountable, I'm not innocent myself. I'd rather minimize expenses and make as much money as I can in the 40 years I have left of working before I'm old and useless. If the United States collectively adopted a minimalist mindset, Wall Street and the World Economic Forum would have their heads explode. We as a people need to take the knife to the heart of the problem.

The crazy thing is alot of stuff doesn’t even feel the same when you buy it. The dopamine hit is not dopamine-ing like it used to. When I go shopping now I just get irritated; I can see the same shirt or similar I bought pre-c19 or during lockdown and the price has doubled or tripled. My solution was thrifting & buying vintage but that quickly turned into spending HOURS going through racks of low quality clothes from stores like SHEIN or H&M because that’s all that’s being donated now, just to find ONE reasonable piece. And the cost of vintage items is going through the roof. Shopping is sooooo tedious now I don’t even enjoy it as a previous shopaholic. I used to go to Old Navy every year to get a heavy good quality coat…last week I went in and the “wool blend coats” are basically light weight sweaters that are wrinkled like crazy! Even the home decor is infuriating & expensive now!!! Im sure I’m keeping online stores like Amazon in business because I now only shop online if I have to.

The woman who helped her parents go through their stuff is so right when she says we need to do gifting better. I cannot tell you the amount of random crap I’ve gotten as gifts that collects dust in the back of my closet. And then I feel so guilty for wanting to get rid of these things that I end up holding onto them for years just to take up space and make me feel even more guilt. When I get other people gifts I do them very thoughtfully (I usually make something) and give them only 1 thing, or just don’t give anything at all. Sometimes I’ll ask the person if there’s somewhere they’d like to go or some experience they’d like to have and I’ll take them to do that instead of giving a material gift. Not every occasion calls for giving gifts, too. Some people have this weird notion that you have to give everyone a gift for every occasion and it doesn’t matter what it is as long as it’s something, anything. Like the boomers say “never show up somewhere empty handed!” Or whatever it is. That sentiment needs to die.

Speaking of baskets. I also collect and use baskets. I fill them with preserves and canned goods and give those out for presents. I ask for the basket and jars back, and then reuse them the next year for more gifts. Most people I know don't need anything. Its so easy to get cheap goods and many of us have just crammed our lives with stuff. I want to gift people healthy food using reusable containers. Cuts way way down on waste and helps keep them out of the grocery stores.

I been good with money since I was 13. I always knew what I was earning and my goals of what I want to spend it on. Didn't had a job at 13, unless you call a paper route a job. I hustle at 13 and made money. Living with your parents, money goes a long way. Collect glass bottles, aluminum cans, metal junk. I mow yards, rack leaves, shovel snow. I even sold box of candy door to door. Made more money then what I was spending. I am now 61 and guess what, I make more then what I am spending. Didn't get a real job until I was 21 and move out from my parents. I also hustle still, of course different hustling over the years. Right now my hustles are buying and selling. I mainly work at a flea market every weekend. I also build and repair PC's and even build websites. Will slow down from the workforce at age 67. But even at 61, I am not doing jobs like I was in my 20's and 50's. I was mainly in construction work. I'm in my 60's so now I settle down as a caregiver. It's not paying as much as a construction worker. But it still paying my bills and plus I still do the hustling. Live within your means people and be frugal.
