To anyone getting laid off with no income please go to the government website and apply for Medicaid instead of being ripped off by cobra. My husband was laid off last December before Christmas and I went to the Gov medical website and we qualified for Medicaid. He got hired last month so we will have healthcare again 1 Dec. please don’t go without healthcare.

Yeah… not surprised about these people being laid off from their “tech” jobs. I work in tech and it’s impossible to find anyone decent for a reasonable pay. And we have lots of perks like working remote. I do feel bad for people in IT though not “programming” bc companies are trying to outsource IT jobs completely.

It’s so bad out here. Even worse when your parents swear up and down you’re being lazy when you’re literally trying your hardest. I started job hunting 3 months before my last one ended and 2 months after still no job. I graduated 5 months ago with a bachelor’s and did several internships before graduating as well.

I’m going to mention for those that need to hear it that not all jobs offer severance pay. I have been laid off before and have never been given severance pay, just a day’s notice that I was being laid off and told to go file unemployment. I had to live on $500 a month for about 5-6 months 😢 try doing that once in your life!

Lol passion should be reserved for something else more worthy, such as healthy hobbies, I.e. walking, hiking in nature, being with friends and loved ones, etc. people really think they are important and some don’t even take vacation time, because they’re so important for their work place. @@whyme7862 ok, local small businesses do not have these issues! Actually it’s quite the opposite. The most cost effective thing for a small business to do is to contract someone with a trade. I know this because I talent hire for 17 states and over 1M small business clients. There is always local businesses hiring someone contractually, so long as you are good “at something”! JOB REMOVED….CAREER LAUNCHED!

Hired the 22 yr old college drop out, 5K a month + bonus based on performance, she essentially posts content for the local business every week and responds to Google reviews! Come on. Businesses have easy problems, receptionist, phone appointment booking, reputation management (respond to customer reviews from home. I actually launched my first business for 7 local barbershops, all I did was respond to reviews for home $399/month, I used Google TOOLS to set up auto responder and got Rich very quick. So, why cry about something you can fix!

On one cruel side, I’m going to benefit from being oblivious, on the other hand the uninformed will lose severely during this new world order.
