The part they're listening to in Man of Constant Sorrow is NOT this lowest part. The next part where the rest of the guys come in is even an octave lower after he sings "while I'm sleepin' in my grave". Most people miss it completely! He's amazing!

I love watching these compilations of Tim's insane bass. I felt the same way when I first heard him too. None of the other bass singers come close to his talent in my opinion. A lot of them learn techniques to go low whereas with Tim it comes naturally. I am impressed not only how low Tim goes but how long he can sustain a note.

tim and geoff castelucci (Sp?) both had to train their voice to be able to go that low into subharmonics. yes they have a naturally deep voice, but they still had to work to get it THAT room-shaking low.

@@jackclark1994 Geoff has mentioned several times in interviews that he is a not a natural bass but he found the technique of subharmonics to get low. Tim does not use subharmonics. He is the master of the growl. They both work on their voices just in a different way.

Dagmar Tim's bass just sounds more "real" not forced like Geoff's sometimes. Second favorite is Avi....

The funniest thing is - most of these people are voice teachers and singers, which are usually exactly the people who have the most priceless reaction to hear Tim's voice for the first time as they know exactly how rare it is. The live performance of Ring of Fire was from the Sing Off competition and yes, the reactions of the judges to Home Free as a whole, their arrangements and Tim hitting low shaking the ground (or high) were priceless too.

You should totally react to that live version of Ring of Fire done on the Sing-Off! It's totally different to the music video they did with Avi (and, yes, it's also a half-step lower than the music video version)! In fact, you should react to their whole Sing-Off journey! Even back then, they were so good, so professional (because they were professionals)! Obviously, they've gotten better since then, but I hope you do react to their Sing-Off performances. Also, you should react to PTX's Sing-Off performances, too (their growth since then is even more apparent for reasons you'll see when you watch/react to it)! Use the channel mrduckbear to find all their performances with their interviews/backstories and judges' comments

There are a lot of good singers out there, but Tim's voice trickles down to the top of my feet - WOW! This guy has incredible vocal control. I've never favorited a singer in my entire life. There are a lot of top artists. But everyone has good songs and not so good songs. But with Tim (and Home Free), I couldn't find a bad song so far. He has a unique talent. Thanks for the reaction!

There are so few natural bass singers out there. Joe with Disney, Bobbie Waters on Tiktok, Elliott formerly with Homefree, Avi Kaplan, Tim Storms, Peter Barber who sings opera (quite a few in that genre) the Russian Oktavists. It's pretty unusual. No wonder everyone is amazed by Tim.

What's interesting is how the majority of reactors are getting off on his voice during his solo verse in "Man of Constant Sorrow". Yeah.... women get off on that Barry White sexy vibe, but only a couple noticed that HE DROPS A FULL OCTAVE when the rest of the group joins in for the echoing chorus immediately after the solo. Oh, yeah....During his live performance of "Ring of Fire" on "The Sing Off", he goes a full step lower than in the recorded version with Avi. It's no wonder the judges freaked out. I've performed "Misty Mountains", and Tim lands a full octave lower than what our arrangement called for... and WE were proud to have found a bass that could hit that E2 that the song LEADS with! If I didn't enjoy Tim's performances so much, I'd be bitterly envious of his range.

I hope I don't come off as rude but some of the women in this video are vocal trainers and give very sound critique of the vocals. In man of constant sorrows in particular there is a double whammy of the no-harmonica of Adam Rupp and then Tim drops his verse. the women I remember that were vocal trainers that was their first time watching these guys. :) the video gives off the impression that they were just super into his voice. and some were, but just like anyone else that's preference.
