+Cali Latet If the acupuncturist is skilled, you won't be able to tell when the needles go in, especially with Japanese acupuncture. With Chinese acupuncture, usually you can feel them go in and that's a bit more of a jab. At least that's been my experience.

Hmm, well there might be a bit of a jab... With the Chinese-style acupuncture I received was by someone who was relatively new at it though, so that might have affected it as well. I've heard generally that Chinese-style is more jabby than Japanese though. I think the sensation is sort of the same in quality as getting a piercing, but way less painful.

minnie4298 You have to check your sugar levels about 2 times a day. So you have a machine that punctures your finger, you put the blood on a machine and that determines your level. Doing this everyday, your fear of needles should fade. Hope this helps.

Erin ?? It’s that but also acupuncture really works! I go to PT and they use the “dry needle method” where they stick acupuncture needles into the irritated muscles. After it my irritated muscles or tendons feel so much more relaxed... although I’m pretty sore the day after.

They would probably lose their license and btw if you ever get acupuncture NEVER get it from a doctor. They only need to be trained in it for I think 2-4 weeks. Get it from someone who actually had to go through the whole program and it doesn't hurt when they put the needle in, at most a slight pinch if they put it in right

I am really amazed with acupuncture. I first went when my mum forced me to go to a session because of my period cramps, as the acupuncturist told her that he could fix that. I went and had 1 session of 30 minutes each week. The first period after the first treatments was less painful. The big change was when the 2nd period came after starting the treatment. It was a drastical change. No pain and everything was really smooth. I really wasn´t expecting that effect on me.

I get acupuncture every week and love it! I have complex migraines, which sometimes causes my body seem like its having a seizure. I was at a point where I had a migraine every day and nothing was helping. I tried all different kinds of meds, medical steroids, pain killers, everything but nothing helped. I hate needles but was finally desperate enough to try and its amazing! My migraines have gotten so much better. By putting the needles in different pressure points it relieves the tension that causes the migraines. Doesn't even hurt a bit :)

Here's a story: one time my sister put on final destination my 9 year old little mind thought I could be brave so she put it on so there I am playing on my pc then I look at the tv so I ask my sister what is about to happen and the little punk that she is she didn't tell me next thing u know I'm begging her to turn it off I couldn't sleep for at least 2 weeks. What i saw I will never un see

I have massage training and I love learning new techniques. But the instant I hear "It bring balance"...."I helps your chee and healing"...."it opens your chakra"...I immediately stop listening lol. Im all about the physics and what will physically happen..not what your needles will do to my minds eye and juju or some bull like that. And the tongue thing and It being able to tell you whats going on inside the body...its connected to a hyoid bone and is a different type of muscle that rarely, if ever, wears out or gets tired. So that's just some rambling to make you think she knows something you don't.
