I think the sign is referring to the cross street. That is to say we are actually looking at an intersection and the sign is telling you that you can turn left there and it's a one way street.

Childhood, when i was in grade 3 my entire street became frozen over, watermain up the street blew out and soaked the roads, because of the construction the plow couldn't salt the road, when i was coming home from school i slipped and slid all the way down my street since it was slanted , 5 minutes later ever kid is on the road sliding

@@CassiTheNerd yes, the fibres of your socks will creat more friction on an icy surface than the soles of your shoes. Once you've gotten past the steep slippery surface remove your socks and put your shoes back on.

They make some cleats that strap on the bottom of your shoes for traction in these conditions. I couldn't find any where I live so I put a string of screws around the bottom edge of a old pair of tennis shoes it worked great. Have a nice and safe day everyone.😊😊😊😊😊

4" thick and a glass-like polish. Spiked boots could not penetrate it. If you tried, you fell. Impossible to get both feet on it and stay upright. If there was any slope you were sliding down it. Pouring rain freezing on contact. Fun in Oregon!
