0:05: The SIL is both stupid and inconsiderate. She definitely should replace the swing. And the husband still should have taken his wife's side. He needed to take the side of the wronged instead of the wrongdoer, even though the wrongdoer is his sister. (This first story has me thinking of the statement, "This is why we can't have nice things!") 5:23: What's the big deal with twins wearing different colors if it only means people can tell them apart? It doesn't seem the mom is stifling their individuality. Plus, the boys seem to enjoy this. 8:10: Delaney is your typical bridezilla. If I were this girl, I would tell Delaney to not only find another flower girl, but she wouldn't be attending her wedding. I'd wish her a nice life, though. Plus, I wish this girl all the best.

Some things can hold people or things above the weight limit without immediately breaking(even with such a vast difference between the limit’s and the person’s weight), but it speeds up the “wear and tear” process significantly(think needing to replace it in one year rather than the expected five). If I were Op, I’d tell the husband and SIL that the swing isn’t “just a swing” but is actually the special gift my 16 year old(meaning he started saving at 14) saved up for and bought just for me because he thought I deserved something nice, and SIL just spit on his hard work without a shred of guilt or empathy.

The story about the girl losing her hair during chemo hit home for me. When my mom had breast cancer for the third time, she had chemotherapy and lost her hair for a good while. It was about shoulder length before chemo and she cut it short to prepare for her chemo. Her hair started coming out later on in clumps due to the chemo. My stepdad shaved it off for her and she was bald for the rest of it. My sister was also engaged that year, but wouldn’t be married until about a year later. But because my mom has naturally thinner hair and there was also a chance her hair wouldn’t come back, my mom was really worried that she wouldn’t have any hair to style at the wedding. I did offer her my wigs, but she preferred not to wear them because they made her scalp itchy. It grew back in time and now her hair is down to her shoulders. I honestly hate that the girl in that story has to be dealing with cancer, especially considering she’s only 13 years old. And that cousin of her’s…..let’s just say Delaney is lucky she’s not my cousin.😂

That last story just made my heart break. That little girl has cancer and all the "soon to be bride" cares about is her wedding?! How heartless can you be? I really wish that the husband overheard the whole ordeal to take the necessary actions. I can't help but sympathize with that little girl and the emotional turmoil she just went through, above her physical ones! 😭

It's rude to shame someone for their weight but the comment in the first story is completely justified for sure.
@misachitachibana7214
@misachitachibana7214 2 жыл бұрын
She wasn't even shaming, that was factual, if the SIL was about 200lbs more than the weight limit on the box it is indeed in the least possible way the hammock could have withstood her weight. Maybe it might have been okay if she was only 50lbs over the limit. Shaming her would be more of telling her, "If you weren't so fat" and so on. Although to me that would not have been justifiable but understood.
@zebnemma
@zebnemma 2 жыл бұрын
@@misachitachibana7214 It's possible that the weight limit on the box is lying so that the company don't get sued by their product constantly breaking and people injuring themselves, so they aim lower so that their product will not break as easily. Cuz let's say the actual weight limit is 300 pounds but it says 250 on the box. But if you actually weigh somewhere between 250-300 pounds it's probably not a good idea to sit in the hamock regardless as it's dangerously close to the limit and that means it could break easily regardless. Like if you weigh 301 pounds it's suddenly DANGER but if you weigh 300 exactly it's "safe"??? Hahahah omg. If I weigh within close proximity of the absolute limit I would not use that item cuz I'm not gonna be a test dummy for how durable this object is and risk getting injured lmao. That woman is pretty dumb honestly and also in denial it sounds about her weight in general. According to Google this is how to calculate: Pressure = Force ÷ Area Force = Mass x acceleration Those tiny strings don't care about your weight, it cares about the physics. (Force divided by area)

I'm a twin and when we were little our mom would dress my sister in blue and me in pink and only put us in matching/semi-matching clothes for special events, like photos or parties. I don't remember how old I was, but I think that at around kindergarten age, she started encouraging us to have our own senses of style and whenever she took us shopping she would ask if we saw anything we liked and go from there.
@Frovael
@Frovael 2 жыл бұрын
That's so sweet! Honestly I can see why parents do this, because as someone working at a kindergarten and having triplets in the group in which the twin girls are completely identical and the mom always dresses them to match, color, style, everything, it's a real hassle trying to figure out which kid I'm even looking for 😅

Something that bothers me about the first story is that ops family (and by extension, her HUSBAND) knew that she wanted that swing for two years. Why was it up to her teenage son to get her something so expensive when her husband probably had the money to spare? I think the husband is more shady than most people realize, and op definitely needs to have a serious talk with him.

1st story: the fact that the SIL did not even apologise to OP for breaking the swing. and the swing was bought by OP's son, to which she cherished. I'd probably force her to pay or just straight up won't allow her to step foot in my property. I feel bad for OP, since her son bought it 2nd story: imo i don't think OP is wrong though, like she said at first, she and her husband are forgetful and she was scared of getting them mixed up. furthermore, OP says that she will give more colours to the twins once their personality & traits are there - basically once the twins each have their own personality & traits, it'll be easier for OP & her husband to identify who is who and will give a wider range of colours to them

I love watching your videos. First story. She is not in the wrong it was a gift given to her by her son on her birthday. The sister-in-law should have listened to her in the first place. When the sister-in-law broke the swing she should have apologized & compensated for the swing. The husband is also in the wrong... his sister just broke the birthday gift that their son given to his wife & then he sides with his sister and says it's just a swing. The wife was right to be angry. Second story. The mother in this story is not in the wrong. If they are identical twin boys in toddler years they might not have a big difference in their personalities yet so having a designated color for one twin like blue for Atticus & green for Ezra is a great way of telling them apart. The boys even get to pick the designs on their shirts so it's not like everything is the same. The mom even said the designated color would stop at age 2.5 or 3 (by that time they probably can tell their twin sons personality differences). It is not as if the designated color would last until adulthood. The cousin of the husband has no right to question a parents choice of how they dress up their children during the toddler years. Third story. The girl (13) with cancer in not in the wrong. It's her hair... her body she has the right to shave her own hair because losing her hair in clumps due to chemotherapy was bothering her. She also already has a wig the was the same color as her hair it's not as if she is going bald for the wedding. She also didn't choose to have cancer. To her cousin named Delaney grow up girl you are about to get married & here you are acting like a child because your cousin cut her hair without your permission. You know... your cousin who is diagnosed with cancer, who is undergoing chemotherapy & losing her hair in clumps because of it. The same cousin who already told you what was happening with her hair.

the story about the girl losing her hair&getting yelled at for having cancer made me so mad. its not her fault she has cancer, its not her fault her treatment caused her hair to fall out and look like a hot mess, it wasn’t her fault she shaved it because she didnt like the pain. and the fact that she said that to a child is just- i hope delaney made a complete fool of herself at the wedding 🤡 ty for listening to my rant, and sorry for any mistakes as i am not native english speaker

That swing story pisses me off every time I hear it. I am also considered morbidly obese, and I can tell you that the sister-in-law was being a total asshole. That or she’s delusional. The twin story though! I think hubby’s cousin is trying really hard to stir up drama. OP is right, those boys have No Idea about fashion yet, and that’s normal for such young children. Once they start forming personal opinions about their cloths, they will certainly let their parents know. 🤣 At 1.5 years old, they’re probably still all about how quickly they can shed their cloths! 🤣

My MIL did something similar with a birthday gift as in the 1st story… makes me mad every time I think of it: Once in a while I splurge on myself as my husband and I live mostly frugally. It was my birthday and I bought myself a $150 cooking pan (yes I know it’s too expensive but I wanted it for over a year and was so excited to have it). I used to leave it on the stove as I thought it looked nice and when guests visited I’d put it away. My MIL visited once and saw me put it away commented how nice it was. I agreed but told her I didn’t want to use it with others as the washing of it CANNOT be scrubbed otherwise it’d remove its nonstick function. I went to work and came home late that day after a long day and saw her aggressively scrubbing it… she said she had wanted to try it out as she was impressed with how nonstick it was… I calmly took it from her, dried it and explained that scrubbing would remove that feature. She laughed saying I was exaggerating. Literally took out an egg and fired it to show her how it stuck and charred now on the pans surface. She immediately burst out in tears and locked herself in the restroom. I couldn’t help myself and I went to my husband and started laughing at how pissed I felt, I couldn’t help but just laugh. She slept over and would cry whenever she made eye contact but never once apologized or tried to replace the pan. It’s been 2 years and she has not once mentioned it. I love this woman so much but Omgoodness this memory upsets me immensely

Hell yeah her weight is a problem in this situation along with her attitude. She needs to grow up and replace that swing, if she really wants to, maybe one that can hold her so she won't destroy it again

Even if the SIL in the first story fits the weight limit, if OP told her specifically not to sit on it, she shouldn't sit on it. It's their house and their rules, she's just a visitor. She openly disrespected OP, so of course she shouldn't expect to be treated with respect in return.

Ugh if I was the girl with cancer I would have either not gone to the wedding or have gone to the wedding, threw the basket of flowers at Delaney then if I had the wig, I'd rip it off, give her a face, then run away crying

I’d like to think that in the first story, the op was thinking more about safety. What if the SIL got hurt?

My kids could tell very good what they want to dress with 1,5. If we did dress them in something they did not like, they just did not work along with us or undress the minute we turned around. So I think the twins like it

1st Story: It's totally okay/fine for OP to be angry. Someone saved up money to buy them that nice gift because they (OP) rarely get nice gifts. OP's husband should be siding with OP instead of siding with OP's SIL (sister in law). OP told SIL what the weight limit was (even showed SIL the box) and told her not to sit in it. SIL sitting in it anyways and the item breaking/ripping as a result shows disrespect towards OP's property/possessions. It's SIL's own fault that she fell on her butt. It's also SIL's fault that the item broke. SIL should've compensated OP for damaging the item or at least apologized. 2nd Story: The husband's cousin shouldn't have complained. There is nothing wrong with the wife and husband having most of the shirts be a particular color for each of their kids. 3rd Story: It was wrong of Delaney to say those things to/act that way towards OP. OP can do what she wants with her hair. I agree with Kyutie (Ellen) that cancer is a lot for a teen to go through and that the girl didn't want to lose her hair.

the 3rd story, the girl (13) i feel so bad for, her cousin had no right to get mad at her like that, it's not the cousin's hair so she don't get a say in what happens with it.

10:20 WOW thats just plain rude. my mum had cancer three years ago, it was one of the toughest times, and if anyone had said anything about it that's not nice, I probably would have started crying. If I was having a wedding, and the flower girl got cancer, I would let her choose, what she wants to do, I wouldn't mind if she wore a wig, if she shaved her head and didn't wear a wig, just as long as she is comfy, and not self conscious. I wouldn't have gone to the wedding if that happened to me.

None of these people are wrong. The swing one is just insane. I'm around 245 lbs. but I have been 300+ lbs. before. It's difficult to find things that can hold your weight, but the point is, if it can't hold your weight, it can't hold your weight. There's no way around it. I struggled with this issue when looking for computer chairs. She warned her it wouldn't hold her weight and she didn't listen and thought it was funny. Are you kidding me? I've had people tell me that something won't hold my weight and I just didn't sit there. Simple. And if I did happen to sit somewhere and broke the chair, I would offer to pay for it or at the very least half of it. Ellen, you are amazing and I love your videos. It brings so much joy to my day when I get a notification that you uploaded a video.

I never knew that loosing your hair was painful. I spent years pulling out my hair(it was a stress/anxiety response to what was going on in my life) and it never really hurt. I never really knew that having your hair fall out could be painful in any aspect but then again my hair would constantly be cut because of the bald spots so for years I didn't have to struggle with tangled hair.

Like the sister-in-law couldn't respect the person's rules and like she's lucky she didn't just kick her out cuz she could have and I probably would have done it after what happened and I would argue with like my husband saying like why are you on my side I'm right and like I told her not to sit on it but she still decided to and like if you're at where at anyone's house you should follow their rules that doesn't mean that you're going to agree with them but it means you should just do that to be respectful
