"Hindi mo kailangang mahalin ang trabaho mo para mabuhay" is what I usually tell people who shared their stories to me about their jobs. Usually, people get burnt out and asks themselves "Para sa akin ba 'to?" "Bakit ako nandito?" "Tama pa bang nags-stay ako sa trabahong 'to?" and to that I say, choose your happiness. I was in the media industry for 6 years, news writer ako, editor, researcher, PA, producer, lahat! Until I asked myself the same questions that I have been receiving. Plus, I was heavily overworked yet underpaid. Until I chose peace. I chose to end my career in the media industry and chose to be a freelancer (at least US based jobs related to my degree). It was not easy, to be honest with you. You would feel the FOMO once you're doing something else and seeing your peers do, see and experience things that you used to have, but there is nothing wrong with that. I think of it this way: we are all different, unique. Same goes with our experiences and struggles, but we can all agree that we can all have the good memories and experiences when we work for it, AT KAPAG MAY PERA KA PARA TUSTUSAN ANG GUSTO MO. There is nothing wrong with questioning your existence when you're unhappy, but staying unhappy and unfulfilled is up to you. Make changes. Do the necessary action. Now, I am at peace, no more anxiety driven work, no more questions (yet), and truly enjoying the WORK-LIFE balance. More time for myself, for family, friends and more landi with jowa! LOL, saan ka pa! It's never too late.

When he said, "I'm at peace." I can totally relate. I studied bio hoping to go to med school, I thought I was all-in with med. A lot of people were saying "sayang." But after losing people in my life, I realized how short life is and I don't want to be stuck in a practice that overworks and underpays you. I value work-life balance, flexibility, and also good pay and benefits. I'd like to be able to do the things I love outside of work, I don't want my life to revolve around work. All I can say is people who switch careers, especially if they invested so many years of schooling for it, are brave.

just try and try stuff. youll never know what you like if you havent tried them. the sooner u try things the quicker u can cross out yung mga things na ayaw mo gawin. ma aanalysis paralysis ka lang kakaisip ng kung ano ba passion mo 😂

Hi I've experienced the same thing (Not that Im saying we experience it in same ways) But Based on my experience di mo talaga makikita agad ang passion mo pero ang makikita mo is something you like. When there's something you like or find cool or intriguing try it. Then soon you'll find yourself falling in love on that "thing" kasi ang passion is another form of love. And Love is an emotion that develops in a long run. So just try new things or things na matutuwa ka. Di mo need isipin kung ano passion mo isipin mo lang san ka nag eenjoy now then it will transform into passion. Remember no rush, Try lang ng try hanggang sa makita mo. Goodluck on your journey, we are here all together 😊

Here's my pieces of advice to Gen Z 1. Do what you love. Love what you do. 2. You will never get tired of something you're really passionate about. 3. Changing your job is both a risk and a gain. Whatever the result will be, it's a leap of faith. 4. You choose what you think is best for you. 5. It's okay to prioritize practicality over passion (if needed) but know that you will always have your way back to your passion. Kudosssss to all the game changers, environment shifters, and risk takers

Changing careers isn't an easy feat. Many struggle to adapt to a new work environment and a new set of co-workers to butt heads with while trying to come up with ideas and strategies. Their insights help us in knowing if switching careers is something that we can also take into consideration first before taking action.

Changing career but worried on finances? I was an HR officer before but realized na it was really not fit for a person like me who always has new ideas and creative. I shifted to Marketing and now I'm an assistant Marketing manager for 3 years na. I can express my strength an now I am one year away on finishing my Masters degree. When I was still a staff, I write thesis papers and charcoal portrait just to make sure that I am still financially capable (bumaba sweldo ko from my pervious work e). When I got promoted, my salary increased and I already have lots of connections for thesis writing all of that while helping ny family financially. It is really all about self discipline, time management and grit.

A career shift is one of the most crucial and delicate processes in one’s life. If you are planning to shift your career focus from one domain to other, always make sure that you are up for the challenge and know what you are doing. MONEY: - The Company in which you're going to shift pays you more than the previous one. Work-Life Balance: - Work life Balance must be equivalent or better than the previous one. Job Profile: - Make sure you're getting a job of your interest. If you're getting job that pays you two times the one, you're interested in then it's of no use. Experience: - Make sure you're having enough experience/skills for that job. Not all career changes are equally difficult. The hardest is to move to a field where none of your previous experience is relevant. Often, though, you can find a way to build on your previous experience while doing something new. Consider staying in your industry but moving to a new role so you can play up your industry knowledge. Or you could keep working in finance, for example, but for a biotech company instead of a publisher. In that case, you can show that you have already done the job, even if the industry is new. Hope it helps!!!

I love how this interview showed two "major" drivers when changing career paths, financial stability and passion. That said, life is basically not a one size fits all type of thing. We have different reasons for staying or moving on. We just have to learn that there are no absolute wrong answers in life, we just learn more of ourselves as we move forward.

I was in the IT Industry for the past 7 yrs then I started my business last 2020 start of pandemic. Honestly for me right now, its about trying to learn new things and gaining knowledge to the people around you. Doesn’t matter anymore what people thinks of me as long as i am not hurting anybody. Learn new things! It will lead you to the path that you want. Im not that successful yet, but I can say that the things i am doing right now is what I really want. If you’re still young, dont chase for money. Look for experience that will help you grow your personal skills.

I was told na I am lazy because I left my teaching job. The one who told that is the lola of my boyfriend na wala naman na ambag sa pag papaaral sa akin and I am a scholar in college btw. It so sad and na down ako until now. I convinced myself na di ko need marinig ang opinion ng iba about sa ano gusto ko. Now I am learning cybersecurity. I am a Bio major btw got my license in teaching na din. I got to go for it cuase it fueled my curiosity. I like computers and hack 😎 wish me luck.

From being a Restaurant Manager to Entreprenuer to BPO Manager.... Roller coaster experience but its all worth it..and dami kong natutunan and I'm glad hindi ako nagstay sa dati kong company. Just DECIDE, panindigan mo, enjoy the ride, be financially ready, choose your people and just know that you are doing it for yourself... The biggest struggle is on finacial side cause bills just keep on coming... I even experience a 0 balance allowance.... so make sure that you are Financially ready when you want a career change

Ang hirap makahanap ng employer na maayos. A lot of us are struggling just to have work. Always make sure to find the right balance of work and personal matters. And recheck up to when can you stay in that company. As For me, I started doing amateur vlogs just to ease out my stressors in life. Sometimes talaga mej nakakaburnout. But at the end of the day, always choose your peace.
