Great job with the sprayer! Just a warning that you are going to want to put a polycrylic on the cabinets if you want to wash them down. They will wear fast without it. Learned this the hard way.

Great video. I would suggest priming the oak so you don’t get bleed through (if you don’t want the wood to show) but in your case it turned out great!

Never mind the oak.. she painted latex over laminate doors. Anything looks great when it’s freshly painted, in a couple months they will be trashed and have to be ripped out. The inside of the cabinets will all peel.

I think this is a great idea! Not necessarily as quick or easy as it may appear in video, but in the long run, more efficient and more pro looking than doing it with brush & rollers. And that spray tent is fab!

Yes. TY..I've bought sprayers in the past but had problems /the flow as the sprayer would cIog up constantly. Now I know which might be a better spray-gun to go with. Also, I didn't know that Wagner had a 'paint-tent,' & had 4gotten about the 'skirted' blue tape, which makes painting cleanly a breeze. So again, thanks for the info & the demonstration; I now have confidence to do my 'paint projects!'

Very nice. My apt has the exact same cabinets. Place was built in 1988. Landlord won't let anyone do something like this so I'm thinking of just covering doors with remove-able vinyl. Something I can just peel off when/if I move.

There’s a reason the landlord won’t allow to paint.. because you will surely paint them as she did in the video which couldn’t be any farther away from the correct way. They’re laminate cabinets, latex paint will not adhere to that surface.

This is good. I’ve been doing construction work my entire life, and have had to fix so much “diy” work. It’s good to see someone actually detailing the prep, I’ve been in houses where they painted the whole thing with the doors still in place. And finding the right hinges!! Make sure you add shelf liner to the cabinet shelves. It's much easier to wipe down after a renter leaves!

as a renter I use Saran Wrap on the all shelves crispers ,& including door shelves inside fridge. This way every few months I remove & replace with fresh wrap. This sure saves on wiping down the door shelves since many bottles & jars are put back messy. Cheap way of keeping it clean.

Nice job! And anyone doing this gets to pick the paint colors and cabinet hardware style and color. And if there is enough money in the upgrade budget, like OP had, the person doing this type of project also gets to pick out counters, backsplash, and appliances. Although there is a lot of work involved, it's still fun to design your own upgrades, and then see the finished project. This is a tip I heard about a while ago: If your appliances are in good condition, but you want a different color, they do make appliance paints, so you can keep the appliance, but change the color. There is even black board paint that will turn a surface into a chalk board. This would be fun to use on a fridge door. Bonus tip: If your fridge door art gallery runs out of space turn the dishwasher door into an annex. I have a relative who keeps bringing over photo magnets with family photos already in them. I finally had to annex the dishwasher door. Most of the pix on the dishwasher are of HIS last dog, who died a couple of years ago. She was a nice dog, but was never my dog. I still don't know why he gave me all of these pix of his dead dog.🤔 Maybe he ran out of room on his fridge.🤣
