The plaintiff claims she stored valuable items in the basement of her friend’s house, and then the defendant decided to throw them out. She is suing for part of her belongings’ value. The defendant claims she promised to hold onto five or six boxes for the plaintiff, but she ended up leaving more than 20 boxes. After six months of keeping the abandoned boxes in her house, she threw them out, and thus she doesn’t owe money. The defendant is countersuing for storage, lost wages, and defamation of character.

Since she was downsizing, she really should have just taken the time to evaluate what she needed to keep and needed to let go. She could have snapped pics of some of those so called "sentimental" items and made herself a photo book. That would have gotten rid of the clutter and freed up tons of space.
