The plaintiff says he and the defendant have been friends for years, so he loaned her money to get an apartment, but she got arrested for beating up her boyfriend. He then loaned her bail money, but she hasn’t repaid that either. He’s suing her for all he’s owed. The defendant says she and the plaintiff dated, and the money was a gift. She insists he’s just jealous, and she’s countersuing for mental anguish.

This guy is fooling no one. Something is wrong with the defendant and he saw opportunity to get supplemental income for himself by having control of her finances. She might have thought she was going to have help with things, but he was 50 steps ahead of her because he's slimey and thought he'd found a way to get money out of her. He thought that POA was real and just tried to save face. Thank God this did go to court- he would have tried to ride that wave until the wheels had come off. Ugh.

PEOPLE, READ WHAT YOU SIGN! EVERY TIME. Every time I sign a document, I read it. EVERY TIME. Even long ones. I remember when I was signing up for a gym, and they had a long contract. It was a legal size document with both sides printed on it, with very small print. For some reason, they wouldn't let me take the document home to read, so I sat there and read it, every word, before I signed it (even though they looked at me like I was crazy - too bad). You should never sign anything without reading it. Even long documents. It's important to read gym memberships as well, because you could be signing something that says you can't cancel. You might be locked in for the entire year or possibly longer than that. And if you can cancel, you have to know the terms. A pretty average term is giving 30 to 60 days written notice. Also, you can always revoke a power of attorney if you're of sound mind.
@CharisToTheWheeler
@CharisToTheWheeler Ай бұрын
I’m the same way. I show up 15 minutes early to an appointment so I can read each thing I’m signing. It seems like people get annoyed when I stop and read each piece of paper. You know how they explain it then you sign. I still read it and ask questions.

It should be an immediate hard-red flag anytime someone says that they will pay when they get income taxes. If they have to pay with a tax return that means they have no money now and are unreliable with finances. Also, if it's a personal loan don't trust them because some loans can automatically be garnished from taxes, and or they likely won't be giving it to you. Also, everyone is ways like "I think I'll get back $5,000", and then they only get back $200.

I have a heart murmur. It certainly doesn't stop you from getting work! In fact, I have a lot more than that. I get dialysis, have two slipped discs in my neck, and a smaller heart issue. I'm currently on disability, but I'm looking for work. I had my dialysis time changed to after 5 so I could get a full-time job. I don't really have a choice, since disability in Canada doesn't give you enough money to live, unless you're living in somebody else's house, and don't have a car. You've got to love these women who say, "I don't know what I signed, I don't remember signing it"... are you an adult or aren't you? I don't agree with the judge when she says, he had no business dating somebody 40 Years his junior and she had no business looking for a sugar daddy. If everybody is upfront about it, I really don't see a problem. Although, it doesn't usually work out well. And if you do have a sugar daddy situation, and then the guy loans money to the girl, he needs to get a promissory note. Otherwise, how does the judge know whether it's pay-for-play or an actual loan?😢

If you are poor, the gov gives you money for up to 2 children every year during tax time. It can range from 1-200 to 3k per child depending on how much you made last year.most of our countries taxes are taking from the working middle class. The very poor and very rich pay very little. Ain't capitalism fun!

@@TopherGrant the more you make the higher % you pay in taxes.... How is that paying very little? My dad pays at least 45% in taxes every year. That's outrageous considering my dad busts his a$$ to make what he makes.. he works 7 days a week and hardly gets a break.

Who would have thought they would lie about honoring their promises and not pay back borrowed money, who can believe it???????

Yes, they are grown but it does make him look bad cause it makes him look like he likes very young women. Think about it they are 40 years apart. When she was like 16 he was 58. It just seems awkward. I'm 24 and the highest appropriate age I would date is a man that is 32. Their relationship was based all on money anyway.

Yeah these two deserve each other! What the Judge said is exactly what it looks like! She was using him as a “Sugar Daddy”! Her claims of “I don’t remember signing anything” & “he told me to do things & I did them cause I just thought he was wise”, say what now? How dense is this woman? If she don’t understand something, there’s plenty of other places to get help, she stayed with this man cause she’s not very smart (go back to school sis!!)! He clearly used his helping her with whatever as a way to control her! Ladies, don’t be a loser like this where you feel like you have to depend on some man, especially one that’s going to abuse you, cheat on you, take advantage of you, etc.! Go to school, learn a skill or get a degree, you can do it!
