No words for the plaintiff. Our family hadn't heard from my sister-in-law in a while. Because she was a senior and it was hot, i told my husband to request a wellness check. Thankfully, the family didn't wait. My sister-in-law had a seizure and was undressed after taking a bath the day before. All her windows were shut, and it was hot as heck in the apartment. If they didn't do what this plaintiff was upset about, she could have died. She was in rehab/nursing home for about two months or more for her to get back to herself because of the seizure. People always ask about how someone is homeless with families. This is one of the reasons. The family cares, but they can't force someone to take the support from them.

The plantif just said his grandmother is his emergency contact person. Wellness checks normally do not burst in doors unless they contact the person who called.. the police were not going to just burst in that door. Thank God he wasn't home. Grown children do not appreciate when their parents or relatives are worried about them. They get angry when we check on them. Police do not break in.they will knock on the door and say "WELLNESS CHECK"!!. IF THEY SUSPECT FOUL PLAY THEY WILL CONTACT THE PERSON WHO REQUESTED THE WELLNESS CHECK BEFORE THEY ENTER. THEN THEY WILL BREAK IN. POSSIBLY WRONG ADDRESS. CHILDREN DO CAUSE WORRY AND STRESS. POLICE WHO SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DOOR. WHEN WE DON'T SHOW CONCERN. THEY GET AN ATTITUDE. IF WE SHOW CONCERN. THEY GET AN ATTITUDE. We do get to the point, when we stop worrying. But never really stop worrying. He is a fast talker. The defendant isn't going to stop worrying, but maybe will just cut back on her concern. This is not unusual.

His mom probably didn't and hasn't like his lifestyle (sexual preference) and that's probably why he is mad..

@@servantsofthemessiah720a mothers love can transcend a lot of things…his disrespect towards her is worst than his sexuality but still his lifestyle has nothing to with her concern for him. I don’t have to agree with my daughter’s choices but I won’t love her any less because of them. You must not be a parent

He's lucky He's an adult with both parents still alive and worried about him. I lost my dad at 12 and what i wouldnt give to have just 5 more minutes with him. I have my mom but things have never been the same. I have living grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings that havent contacted me in years. He needs to count his blessings.

As a mom of a boy, I have to make sure he doesn’t turn out like this. They must’ve spoiled him growing up and didn’t teach him work ethic. I also think he may be kinda off for his grandma to be called. He probably get checks

To the “hourly employee” question. I am NOT required to answer my phone for an employer after hours, unless I’m being paid, says the damn union! Now, bosses have to answer the phone to to their boss, as they are given company phones to be reached.

There is ALWAYS a reason someone doesn’t talk to their parents/family. JM needs to get real.

There is obviously more reasons why he wants nothing to do with his family. Which is fine, but his mom will always be his mom and be concerned. I don't understand why they would kick down the door unless someone said he had a gun or something 🤔, but it is what it is and it's not his mom's fault.

Well when they're brought out to do a wellness check specifically, they will typically try to do anything possible to make possible contact with the suspected missing person, including kicking down a door if there are no signs of life. Unfortunately people often pass away in their apartments and aren't found until a wellness check is done, or some people may even just be injured with no way of getting help, so that's why.
