Section 8 is funded by taxes... which people on Section 8 pay. Poorer people often end up paying a larger relative share of taxes to their income than middle class and wealthier folks. Funny how folks with their child tax credits and new homeowner credits and well funded public education etc. etc. don't consider all that "charity."
@spacecase87912 жыл бұрын
@@knkytht Section 8 is literally funded by taxes. When someone on section 8 pays taxes, they are just repaying a small amount of taxes that they already took from actual hard working tax payers. There is a difference between a hard working tax payer and a person that solely lives on the taxes that other hard working people had to pay to support them. Big difference. Why our society justifies laziness is absurd. Stop making excuses for lazy people that just leech off of others.

I’d love to know how much the handyman charged for the bifold doors. Because the defendants were ripped off by the handyman, which means the plaintiff is being ripped off as well. I run my own handyman business, and I have contracts with several property management companies where I go in to rental properties between tenants, and make them rent ready. I repair and replace bifold doors daily. You can definitely purchase the tracks separately. Home Depot sells them for $15-$20. It’s the track with all other hardware for the doors. I encourage all property owners that rent out their properties, as well as anyone that is a renter, to do their research and see how much things cost. There are a lot of shady contractors, and handymen licensed and non licensed that love to rip people off. It’s horrible how many crooks there are out there, including landlords. Always take before and after photos, report damages, or fix them yourself prior to moving out, and document everything. Landlords, property management companies, and apartment complexes love to keep security deposits.

Handy man could inflate price for his labor, but there's no incentive to overcharge for parts if he's submitting legitimate receipts.
@headstampballpythons37832 жыл бұрын
@@hottuna2006 There’s nothing that shows he actually submitted the receipt of purchase to the customer. If the only thing that needed to be replaced was the track, that’s all that he should have purchased. By Lying to the customer and telling them that the only way to get a new track, is to purchase a new door, then he overcharged the customer, because they didn’t need new doors. We don’t even know if he installed the new doors on that job. The customer may have only received a new track but paid for new doors as well. There’s plenty incentive for the handyman to lie there. He could have done it to make the job bigger so he can make more money. He could have lied and had that customer purchase the bifold door as well because he needed new bifolds on his own house and this way he’d get them for free, or he could have used them on a different job, where he charged a different customer for them so he made even more profit. Like I said, there’s a lot of crooks out there. People that are in it for themselves and they lie about what needs to be done, or how much it costs or they just overcharge for services. Charge for work that doesn’t need to be done, the customer doesn’t really know. They don’t actually do the full scope of the work but they get paid for it anyway because in the end it works fine. I encounter things like this a lot. I have been outbid on jobs, customer hires the painter with the lowest of 3 bids they received to paint the exterior of the house. My price was in the middle. There was no way the hired painter could give excellent quality work for their price. My price was higher but I wasn’t going to profit much at all. Well the house gets painted and looks great, until a few months later. The customer called me to come look at the house. It looked as if it had not been painted, well the painter used either really cheap paint, or, most likely he watered down the paint a lot, so that he could end up with a profit. Customer had to hire me to redo it because he get get ahold of the other guy, the crook. I have had to go and fix roof leaks that customers have already paid a previous roofer to fix. There was literally nothing done on that roof. Guy went up on the roof for a couple hours and made noise, came down and said it was fixed and got paid. Next rain it leaked again. Same guy was called back and “fixed” it again. Got paid again. He would show up unannounced, go up on the roof, then knock on the door and tell the customer he had another leak. The customer asked him to fix it. He ripped this customer off numerous times. This happened to a nice man in his late 70’s. He didn’t know any better, he was in poor health. He finally was referred to me, I went there, I put a brand new roof on for this guy. For far less than this customer had paid the other guy for all of his “repairs” combined. It had rained several times with long heavy rainstorms, finally no leaks. The original guy returned a few months after I had done my work. He went up on the roof unannounced, then knocked on the door and told the customer that he noticed he had someone else come work on the roof, then said there was more work needing to be done., customer told him to leave and never return. Well the next rain storm that came, 13 months after I put the roof on, he had a leak. I went to take a look. The other guy had gone up there and caused damage to the roof, to ensure it would leak. I fixed it for free because I felt horrible for this guy. These crooks get creative. They only care about themselves and making money. No pride in their work, and they don’t care who they screw over.
