The plaintiffs say the defendant is their neighbor. They claims she was supposed to sell some ink cartridges for them and give them a 30 percent cut. When they asked for the money, she claimed the cartridges were a gift. They’re suing for what she owes them. The defendant says one of the plaintiffs said they were gifts and only asked for money when they saw the ink on eBay. She’s countersuing for all she’s out.

@@jehneanyshari1518- Not really. First, the defendant had already stated that during the case (at the beginning, I believe). Second, the evidence CLEARLY PROVED the cartridges were NEVER a gift (and I bet money the defendant actually DID sell them). Third, needing money doesn't matter since the text messages already showed they were clearly never a gift. It's VERY common for people who need money to call in their debts when they need them. That doesn't mean they're not debts (especially in this case where the text messages show they were clearly NEVER gifts). Defendant's exit interview: when given a gift, especially something used, that the plaintiff got for free, you wouldn't need to ask if you can sell them. They would be yours. Throw them in the dump if you want!!!

Anyone suspect that he lost his job because he obtained those cartridges through nefarious methods? The plaintiff made a comment about him not working, I suspect he didn't sell them himself, Craig's List, a local buy & sell, because he wanted distance between himself and the merchandise. All three of these individuals are shady AF!!

Nah. It sounds to me like he was working for a smaller business that shut down or a franchise with a store shutting down, and someone said he could keep them. This happens all the time. A business stocks up on something like printer carts, does not do the business they expect and close. If you're on good terms with the owner, they will probably give you stuff. Because otherwise its them who has to figure out how to store it, pay to take it to a landfill (ink carts are a diff. story and more expensive) or sell it themselves. In the case of the latter, one has to weigh potential return with time spent and as the lady said, selling on EBay is time consuming. Ive personally known multiple people who have shut down businesses and this happens. One buddy of mine closed down a loan place and gave me all their computers. I just had to go there, remove the HDDs and give them to him. Aside from that, i got 13 quad cores that i cleaned up, stuck HDDs in and sold on EBay. I don't see anything shady here.

no the judge read it wrong i think what she was saying was that the tv that broke had a warranty so they were going to just go get another on their own and redeem the warranty but the neighbor swooped in and offered to help so she used her costco card (the lady mentioned the mom had her own costco card so therefore they would have to wait until the mom got back in town, can’t go to costco without the card) and bought the tv for them with her own money. there saying she didn’t have to do that because they would of just waited till the mom got home to use to costco card to go redeem the warranty. they were not trying to swap the broken tv to return it. the judge definitely read that wrong.

The value of the ink cartridges had nothing to do with this case, though. It might have been a point of contention between the parties, but the issue was a dispute over who actually owned the cartridges, not how much they were worth. So the Judge’s knowledge (or lack thereof) was not relevant, and did not impact the case or the ruling.

It is natural to look at any person and identify his or her characteristics (tall, short, black, white, blonde, redhead, attractive, unattractive, polite, rude, male, female, etc.). When someone's characteristics are unexpected or don't seem to align, people notice. Acknowledging this doesn't mean there's a hang-up or an issue with it. It's just being honest. By far, most comments regarding the defendant are about her assertions and demeanor, not her gender identity or sex, which I think is really good.

I agree with the judge's ruling but I feel like the plaintiffs needed to take responsibility on so much of this. Also I must say why were they whispering in court? Not something that should happen. Defendent helped them out with new TV which they have never paid back on and gave the worst excuse about why not pay it back with the insurance. Plaintiffs never paid anything for the ink cartridges so its not like they are out any money. They were not clear up front with the Def on what to do with it I bet. Especially expired ink cartridges which don't sound easy to sell even for cheap. Once you give something like this to someone else, is it worth making big deal out of? Especially expired stuff that may cost more to dispose of than its worth. So many people out there have inflated sense of what something is worth.
