I have 2 new red ripples and another type. My green one gave me a flower spike. So it made me happy to know it was happy. I love mine.

I picked up a mini silver crumpled peperomia at Trader Joes recently. It's in a tiny pot with a string attached and it sits in another slightly bigger pot. Instructions say to keep the outside pot filled with water. The funny thing is, there was no description of what kind of plant it was, and it took lots of research to finally identify it. After watching your video I see that I'm going to have to repot it and water it like my pilea plant, which is thriving! I'm loving peperomias. They have gorgeous foliage and seem to be easy to care for. I do wish that sellers would identify the plants they sell so you can research how to care for them properly.

I just ordered the "Luna red" version of this 2 days ago. Sometimes KZbin is creepy, but I'm glad this video was recommended in my feed. The watering cue is very helpful, I tend to overwater.

Thank you, had I watched this before... I just killed one! :D Actually I hope to save something, I cleaned all the mushy parts and stuck the tubers or rhizomes in soil, loose chunky soil with bark like you said. The thing is now to chose the right moment to water it again! Fingers crossed! :)

My first one was a Rosso and I definitely killed mine from over watering. Once you get the hang of it, they become very easy plants. I hope you get success!

I have a frost and its doing ok, but I think its to close to the grow light now because its growing little leaves and a lot of them. I'm going to check the roots its been in same pot for a year. Also maybe its from over fertilizing. I'm not sure.

Νice video. My peperomia is very small and the soil drys really quickly, so i wanted to find another method/sign for when to water it 💚

Thank you! The only 2 visual cues I know of are wilting and leaf texture. Otherwise the traditional potting medium tests like weight, texture and good ol stinking the finger in to check moisture. I don't like using moisture meters on these since the roots are fickle

I don’t know if you’ll see this but I just got a peperomia silver frost about 2 weeks ago and i think the watering is going well but I’m not sure how to go about the lighting- I can’t find any recommendations online for growing with grow lights which is what I’m using for her as I get almost no sunlight through my windows. Do you have any advice on the distance or angle this plant should be from the grow light?

My experience with this plant is that it like a high medium type light. So it will really depend on the strength of the grow lights. The ones I use are not very strong (table top type) and I have my plant directly under the light about 6-8" away. If you have a stronger lamp I may suggest pulling away to maybe 10" away. If you notice the silver getting kind of dull you most likely will need more light.

I need help! My peperomia is leggy and often droops. I repoted it. A few leaves have dry, brittle spots on them now. 😔 The soil feels moist?? It's near an east facing window.

I can only guess...I'm guessing it's overwatered. Maybe a boost in light and some warm weather to help. Leggy usually indicates the leaves are reaching for more light. I hope it gets better 🙏

Oh no! Once it's over watered it's hard to fix. Try aerating the soil a little to let it breathe, but be very careful around the roots. A well ventilated area will help it dry out faster. If it continues to deteriorate, you may need to propagate and start over 😞. Peperomia are notoriously sensitive to watering.
