After reading the comments, how can you drivers say he was legal? He's grossing 131,000? In what state can you get a permit for that on 6 axles? Surprised he wasn't taken to jail in CA. Pepe, proper flag etiquette is to not let it touch the bed of your truck and get filthy. @Peter Hathaway to be honest I'm not sure.... Different tow companies charge different rates... Like I got stuck in the middle of the night and had to be pulled out $350 just to hook in three or four dollars a mile to whatever other charges but it was somewhere around about five hundred bucks right down the road... I'm guessing this would be probably over about 2k not sure how much tho .. just a guess

First of all!! Blame the Shipper/Broker for not posting the right Truck/Trailer needed for this load. Second, Now blame the Driver for Not refusing to take this load because He MUST have known He had the Wrong combo for this load. Definitely needed an RGN trailer for this load!!

I work in the export shipping industry. That machine/crate is going for export. It was loaded onto the only suitable equipment provided by the Port/Vessel Carrier that will fit on a container ship along with other 40 or 45ft shipping containers. Lowboy will not get you loaded onto the container ship.

Heavy haul companies will put that container on a stretch 16 tire low bed, its done all the time but shippers will avoid the cost and give it to container haulers.

I agree with the comments about using the wrong trailer and the cg. But I haven't seen anyone mention how far to the inside if the turn that the driver was. Looks like he dropped the trailer in the rut on the shoulder. Then there she went.

Good recovery but you spent a lot of time in the kill zone, especially at the beginning. The area between the rear of the trailer and the back of the rotator is risky. A broken chain or an unexpected slip can make for a bad thing back there. Please be careful.

Outstanding job, but if that truck had that much trouble on a ramp, I'm surprised DOT didn't black flag the entire load until it was shifted to a low boy. Imagine if that trucker had to stop fast or make a sudden veer. Nice how you gave him a shackle as a parting gift.

Can’t believe they hooked him up and went on their way. They should have transferred that load to a proper low boy. Thought this looked like LBC/San Pedro. I work in the ports right in the back of this. You guys should also wear lids and not walk/stand under your loads like that. If anyone on our yard did that shit they might not have a job in the morning. Shit don’t fly. That’s how people die. Literally, it’s happened. More than once.

They should have put that flat rack on a extendable rgn or take the crate off the flat rack n put it on a rgn or lo pro stepdeck. Putting it on a chassis this looks like the typical broker or freight forwarder who knows everything to save a buck.

we haul heavier loads than that on a daily basis (logs) and i know that if that was an air ride trailer he probably would have had no issues. air ride trailers are more stable than spring ride

I was honestly shocked that the driver just back up to it and left without checking anything. As for not going over, it looks like the landing gear wasn't properly put up which saved it.

Drop deck or low boy trailer driver was fortunate, at least he put his landing gear down hopefully on a 4by4 board and dumped his air until the wrecker arrived. Excellent job by the driver of the wrecker God Bless you all stay safe out there!

So many comments about the load being too high wrong trailer etc which is correct but it’s most likely that this machine was strapped to that sea freight base at its port or origin so it could be handled by container cranes. These bases are designed to be transported on container skeleton trailer units such as the one in the video. Fault lies firstly with the logistics coordinator who should have known it couldn’t be transported like this and should have arranged for it to be transferred to a lowboy or heavy haulage unit, then the driver should have refused it but probably didn’t for fear of losing work

Not sure on what suspension is under that truck or chassis, believe tractor was air ride with one height control valve , when hauling machinery you need 2 one on each side . We have had some machines heavy on one side and no way to level with one valve. I see a different tractor hauled trailer away . Thanks for sharing recovery

I don’t think that flat rack container would have fit on a low boy. It’s at least 48 feet long. Should have taken the machine off of the container and reloaded it on a lower trailer. But hell that would ha e cost money.😱

The flat rack under the machine weighs about 11,250lbs and should have stayed at the port. Max weight on the rack is 104,500lbs

MAGGY how many years of CDL hauling do you have? If you have a CDL what’s your CDL DL number. I’ll have my Dispatchers look it up. Then we’ll talk. Sometimes you don’t have a choice. And no, the liability falls on the shipping company, not the driver for a false or un sat load. You would know that if you took a CDL test. It’s on there when you go for your license. Driver was not at fault. The shipper was.

I agree. Low bed with rear spreading axles. Wider trailer profile and low center of gravity gets the job done safety and reduce the risk of an expensive tow truck bill.

The issue is the flag coming into contact with the winch cables, the replacement flag we ordered is too thin so we have to order a new one. We've since put a pool noodle over the cable to protect the flag.

You can get a permit in all states pulling containerized freight for whatever the weight you need and if it's something like a transformer for something electrical that you all love so much the electricity that is the government doesn't even care about what it weighs as long as it gets there

@Amed Tajan Jerk how? That landing gear is very clearly close to the ground. A lot of drop hook truckers are lazy, not all, and will only run the gear up enough to clear the ground by a few inches instead of running it all the way up just to save a minute. My comment here was only pointing out that his moment of laziness ended up saving the load in the one freak incident.

@Amed Tajan Well the him was a she. Maybe put the landing gear down after is started tipping. They didn't seem to have any problems putting it up when they where finished. Think there would have been some significant damage had it been down when the truck was actually moving and tipping ? Might be wrong and probably am but if she was thinking she could have put it down after the fact trying to stabilize it from going over completely

As a flatbedder that was way too much weight with too high of a center of gravity with those little tiny baby straps holding it I would've NEVER left the rail yard with that crap and if that was just the weight of the trailer chassis and load seems like it would be overweight anyway 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ disaster waiting to happen great job guys getting it in place 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
