When they bust out the chains and saws you know it's going to be a good one. Nice work. MTA uses busses to get around closed track sections, but yeah there are going to be a lot of people late for work and school. Legend has it that MTA and Caltrans are still out there.

No doubt the tracks had to be inspected at least
@fissure2563 жыл бұрын
It happens at least once a year. There's a project under study to raise the barriers, but it's pegged at $425 million because Caltrans used the shoulder for a carpool lane and violated their own standards on sight distance to be able to do it. So they have to do a bunch of special crap.

The catenary wires for trains are designed to be turned off in sections remotely, in case of emergency; that's an upside to being in this spot. Working under commercial primary power lines, it's much harder and takes longer to shut down. Great job! 👍

That one was in a tough spot. Well done. I see one thing, there on the rear of the van unit you had you blocking sitting long ways, I had a bad issue with doing that do to it rolls real bad. Always lay your blocks the other direction which would be like across the bed. Just use another set or two if your worried the weight would cut thru. One more thing if you have the arrangement to do so. When you got a front end knocked out, have your come out unit load two 12 by 12 by 7 feet. You want have the issue with your blocking on the front. Just bore a hole in the end of each and run a rod thru them to load up. Hope that gives you a idea. Lot of great team work at your place. Great job.

That’s going to be a pretty hefty bill for the crashed trucks. You got tow and recovery, OCS department has to do a power down, track department has to come out and inspect the track and ballast and make any necessary repairs, and you have the lost revenue hours for trains running through.
@aaronj.brooks19773 жыл бұрын
Nice work there guys 👍🏾 this isn’t the first time that happens many times cars or big rig trucks would often get into accidents and crash on to the gold line tracks you would’ve think that metro would’ve put a giant fence up and down those tracks or at least put them on of those k-rail barriers like they have on the green line that through the 105 freeway

@ANDREWLEONARDSMITH2 жыл бұрын
This is an accident waiting to happen as whos stupid idea was it to run train tracks down the central reservation of a motorway? This would NEVER be allowed in the UK as it appears that the US has no proper knowlege of basic road & Railway safety thank god there were no trains passing when this happened as this would have caused a massive derailment. Roads & Railways should be kept well apart & be properly protected by adequate barriers that are fit for purpose.
