I’m really glad you posted this. I ended up getting this tool In a box of supplies to bend the handle of silverware into rings on Facebook marketplace. For the whole box of supplies the person was selling inpaid $40. When I got it I was like hey I know that brand name! I wasn’t sure how to use it and I’m glad to see how it easy it is to use, I’m going to make my first purchase of silver soon!

wow, that's so awesome!! What a bargain! 😍 Yes, using this tool is super easy, and honestly, there's so much more you can do with it than just rings. It's useful for any bending you might have 😃 Purchase some silver and have fun with making and bending my dear. And thank you for watching ⭐

How did it go with bending spoons?
@melodyrose19854 жыл бұрын
@@casadonnelly2498 so I don’t have the tool fixed to a table and the silverware is not very flexible and I wonder if it needs to be annealed (I think that’s the right word). But I did actually bend the band of a ring I wear all the time pretty badly and I was able to make is circular again very very easily. My work bench is set up for my stained glass projects, im not set up for metal smithing yet!

I’m so late to this review 😢 BUT glad I found it, I’m rather small and don’t have the best upper body strength my go to at the moment has been using my bale shaping pliers I just don’t get along with half round, but this has just changed the game for me, this little silversmith in training can now make her chunky rings of dreams, thank you hun and thank you Pepe 😆💓🙏

What are some cheaper alternatives? But something that is good quality and going to do a MIGHTY FINE job
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing4 жыл бұрын
I don't know any, sorry! From my experience it's hard to find something that will offer both. It's either cheap price or good quality that does a mighty job 😃 When I first started, I obviously went for cheapest options. But I can tell you, while there's lots of great cheap tools, there's also loads withc which you end up paying twice for replacements or upgrades. They will damage your metal, they will break, they won't be of good quality. If the ring bending tool is out of the budget for now, I would really recommend putting the monay towards a good quality ring bending pliers, rather than a cheap knock off of the tool. Good ring bending pliers can do a great job and won't damage or mark the metal.

Hello! I just got started with a similar tool Unfortunately I don’t have anywhere to bolt it down to. You mentioned a bench vise in the video, could you elaborate?
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing11 ай бұрын
oh yes, you can hold it in the bench vise, but the opening needs to be more than 7cm I believe, mine was too narrow and I couldn't fit this tool in there

Could you use this to bend cutlery into rings? or do you need to use thinner metal?

Of course! This ring bender is perfect for spoon rings. I have two videos about making spoon rings on my channel and there's lots of videos on KZbin 😀

I noticed a lot of movement in the "bolt" when you are making the ring. Is that normal?

This is incredible! Do you have this bolted to your table?

I do, the ring bending part. OItherwise it would move constantly and I wouldn't be able to do any bending 😆
