How much polyphony , if one desired, could be created on xmx, versus on the ssp? I love the idea of polyphonic modular with patch memory. Also is there a means on the ssp/xmx, to tune oscillators at audio rates so polyphonic performance i.e. playing chords, would sound consonant? I hope there will be superbooth videos in the coming days, demoing the xmx. So far I'm yet to see one but I understand it was a very busy weekend.

I dont know what videos were filmed by percussa at superbooth. from my side, as indie dev... polyphony is highly dependent on oscillators used etc, as dsp varies a lot. for a couple reasons Ive not really been focus on comparing SSP vs XMX. a) I need to get trax running on ssp b) Im will optimising core usage on xmx. what I can say is, im happy with the xmx performance, but its not quite as powerful as the SSP. (but 1/4 the price ;)) audio rate tuning, sure.. ,as a virtual modular, it has v/oct (audio rate) cv on oscillators.

oh they made it anyways. remember when they had this up on kickstarter and it didn't reach the goal. was supposed to come w/an app for editing/creating patches on the computer. would've been nice.

yeah, originally, Bert thought the screen would be too small to patch effectively on, hence the idea of the editor. but people did not respond well to the idea of a needing a computer to patch. so, the idea evolved, to have patching on the module itself. the clip you see of synthor on this video is very early build, its not evolved quite a bit.... and looks good. its quite similar to how it is on the SSP, but the 'patching' of two modules has been simplified.

Very tempting, at the price point it's almost a no-brainer but not sure how I would get along w that interface..

as I mentioned in the video, there will also a version of Synthor (by Percssa) which has an alternative UI. also my UI is still in dev, and I hope to work with the community to improve it. (obviously xmx was under NDA before release, so I could talk to anyone during that dev phase!)

Current SSP UI is terrible. Really looking forward to seeing alternative approaches as the SSP is powerful but it completely stands in the way of user flow and creativity.
