Hey blackie how do you know if the wad is seated correctly under the ball
@BLACKIETHOMAS5 жыл бұрын
usually when i load it i push it down into the cyl about a 1/16 of a inch..so the ball or bullet will push it further down

Great video thanks Blackie. I got the cartridge converter for my 58 sheriffs 5 1/2 and shoot cowboy loads when i want or need a bullet but want to get that mold so I can cast my own. can you do a video on what is needed to cast the bullets and show us the process?

i am not sure youtube has stated they don't want any videos on reloading or bullet casting..i will see if i can do it

Hi blackie I have an Armi San Marco 1851 colt .44 with 3" barrel snubnose and birds head grip on a brass frame (the only snubnose I could win an auction for). I'm looking at some conicals that are .457 made for a Ruger .45 I think. Do you think that would be too large? The seller recommended 1 set over the others, "wheel" something alloy to reduce "leading." What do you think, please?" I want to use conicals and a 25 grn charge. Not going to shoot much, just a few loads to get familiar with it, then it's going to have to my only self defense firearm (9 month wait for permits in MA right now). The gun is in good condition hasn't been fired much. Please advise!

A bit of a light load as a 30g, and a longer barrel would give better results as well as a faster moving round, personally I use the 58 remington army steel frame and use paper patched 35g with the Johnston and Dow, and that seems to work wonders for me

Hi Blackie, I thoroughly enjoy you videos and have learned a lot. I have a Richland Arms 1851 Colt Navy that I've been shooting off and on for years. My dad gave it to me back in about 85 or so. But now the nipples are pretty much wore out. Also the hammer face is a little buggered up. The markings indicate it was manufactured by Armi San Marcos. Do you know what nipples will fit this thing? And will hammers for Uberti's or Pietta pistols fit my Ami San Marcos?

to be honest i do not..however if it was me with this problem i would go to dixie gun works and ask them..for many many yrs they were the go to people i asked when i had such questions..hope this helps ya..safe journeys

Doesn't look like the Remington rammer is doing much damage to that bullet. I may have to try some in mine.
@BLACKIETHOMAS5 жыл бұрын
it does blunt it a bit..but i find the flat nose does better on game..the point is far better to penetrate in a military application since i might go thru one and wound another..but i nhunting i want as munch energy dumped on my target..not passing to the dirt beyond
