Wow! Next level!!! My ukulele has a wound low g string so when I slap it it makes a tang sound that just doesn't sound good, but doing a little palm mute on the low g and a thumb slap at the same time sounds so good! Thanks you much for this.

Thank you for the lesson! It is hard to find something like this for ukulele. I really would like to learn this technique. I´m little hard time to understand it thou. Should the string touch the fret while I slap it? It also seems really unstable position to the thumb to rest on the string. Can I do the slap above the fretboard, in this case the thumb is more stable but also touches fretboard and creates different sound of percussion?

Ha, I hit that G string with my thumb and it stops sounding. There is no thump sound. If I hit it harder, it rings again. What kind of ukulele do you have? What kind of strings? I need a new one, should get a good one. I get the rhythm, I like learning a new technique, but can’t get that g string to make any sound when hit. In my playing it is a rest count because of it. It just doesn’t sound on my uke. Good lesson.
