I never would've known that Thomas calling Percy a "green caterpillar on wheels" in the series was actually low-key the author quarreling with the illustrator. Also, I love watching these videos. I've been a fan of Thomas & Friends since I was 3, and I'm fascinated to learn more about the franchise as a whole as I get older. I didn't know very much about the Railway Series books as a kid, as I was a lot more invested in the TV series, but I did read some of the books, and found them interesting.

Here's some interesting trivia about the television adaptation of Percy's Promise: 1. It, along with Time for Trouble, were originally planned for the second season. 2. In the original script, the floorboards came from Clarabel as in the original story. Presumably when they finally got a chance to adapt in Season 3, David or Britt realized that was too dark, hence the brakevan.

@NorthWestern19194 жыл бұрын
@@stepneybulstrodemusic1761 Yeah, I see your point. Besides, Henry not looking completely like a Black 5 makes sense, as opposed to Percy not looking completely like Trojan, considering Henry was built as a failed hybrid of an A1 and a C1. Besides, both Henry and Percy look more faithful to their real-life counterparts in the RWS. Except for poor C. Reginald Dalby, who, as we all know, portrayed Percy as a little green caterpillar.

For the record, the purpose of a 'backing' signal actually means 'line clear ahead at next signal'. Interestingly I did not base this conclusion on studying railway logistics, but using the expression of how one backs someone up in a case to support them. In this case a 'backing signal' basically performs the same function. Also I believe the screaming audio clip comes from Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining'. Regards, Samuel Farris.

A) Between 3:07 and 3:11, much like Thomas' face in Down the Mine, James' face in Percy and the Signal looks like it's about to come off and looks really strange dangling from the front of his body like that. B) Between 5:22 and 5:32, I'm surprised you said Thomas' name but not Toby's name like Sir Topham Hatt says in the episode (he probably says it in the book too I just don't remember). C) Between 6:12 and 6:32, I'm surprised that you didn't say that Henry is all alone with both Duck and Percy instead of both Gordon and James being at his side as well teasing Duck as they're passing by (like in the episode). D) Why would the guard want to kill Clarabel?? That just makes no sense whatsoever. Just because he had an axe in his hand does not necessarily mean he wants to kill someone, he probably just also has it for safe keepings such as tearing down trees or becoming a lumberjack or something like that.
