Respectfully disagree. I in the midst of the vocal and synthesizer quirkiness there has always been a tight and capable band of musicians to make it work. Yes, the roster has changed many times but whatever the lineup it always provided a solid foundation upon which Thomas can construct and explore his unique vision. By the way, I actually got to spend about 30 minutes talking to Thomas back in 2002. He actually approached a friend and myself after a show. Not quite sure why he picked us out. He was very friendly and funny, and it turns out that, despite his reputation for being all of and in another world, he was quite down-to-earth--a rather regular guy. We chatted about music and playing in bands and all sorts of this-and-that.
