I loved the mini therapy session in the middle of this application. It put me in mind of a teenaged girl I managed while working front end for a supermarket. She was ready to quit because of a customer who was nasty to her every time she got on her line. She was in tears many times after dealing with that woman. I gave her a "tool": I told her to smile and be super polite to every single thing the woman said. She wasn't sure, but I explained to her that if she lost her composure and said something bad to her she would be in the wrong and get herself in trouble, and give the woman the satisfaction of getting her upset, again. The next time the woman was on her line, she tried out my "tool", and was the most agreeable, sweet, smiling person you could ever meet. She couldn't wait to talk to me later to gush about how mad the woman got about how nice and unflappable she was, and that by not losing her own composure, there was nothing the woman could do except try to upset her and frustrate herself when she failed to land anything. By the end of the transaction the woman learned this girl wasn't a good target for her venom, and this girl felt so powerful and in control of not just her reaction to a nasty person, she felt powerful and that she was able to apply that simple advice to every aspect of her life. BTW, that woman no longer went on her line after that. You're right in that 'hurt people, hurt people', and also in the fact that they will continue to do so, right or wrong, until they have no targets. It matters only how we accept or reject what comes at us. It's difficult for many to get there, but soooo worth it when we do. The technique you demonstrated here was beautiful. Thank you for being so generous with your expertise!

I haven’t watched any of your videos in a while and that’s only because I haven’t had to (I’m not a colorist, a hairstylist etc. I teach myself). I just wanted to say that I see a HUGE difference in you, whether it be, you’re perspective on life has changed or your own introspection has become more acute, it’s clear that you’ve grown, incredibly! I know that, for me, that kind of growth follows awareness of pain. If this was the case for you, then I am so proud of you for not becoming stuck there and giving up or into negativity but instead have grown into a deep, transparent individual, who’s kind, honest and is looking for solutions to the problems that cause harm. You spoke of how you, as an adult, we’re hurt by the words of your peers, who for w/e reasons, felt that attacking you would pump up their ego. Well, I have a 14 year old daughter in jr high and 2 boys in high school, another graduated last year. My daughter is most open with her current life and I am disgusted, sickened, by the meanness of the words said to others on social media, things that they’d NEVER say to the face of that person! Suicide is going up in #’s among our children and then parents look back and think, “WHY? I never saw any signs. Did we love her/him enough, did they feel our love enough, did we say it enough?” Well, most likely, it had very little to do with the parent(s) although, maybe being aware that our children/teens are fragile, and need to be 100% positive, beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are loved unconditionally, no matter what, that we have their backs, that we are on their side and that our allegiance is to them, only, because when they’re being taunted online to the point where they feel they have nobody who even likes them and they can’t take any more hurt, they’ll start to think that suicide could be the answer and then the next thought will be, will I be missed? Will anyone give a sh••? My hope is that that, right there, will be what stops them. That as parents, caretakers, friends, have positioned ourselves to be their reason to keep going, that we’ve made every effort to be sure that those we love, our children, the children in our lives, know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will always be their safety net. That our love will sustain them through the cruelty of the mean people around them. It’s scary and you are so correct that they need to be teaching this in school, how to treat social media as you would if you were speaking in person. My mother always taught me, never put anything in writing that you wouldn’t want everyone and anyone to read and I remembered that! Why do people not get this? Once you say something online, it’s yours forever. It will either be proof that you were/are a horrific person, someone you’re ashamed of, or that you were someone who your employers, family, future children, yourself, can be proud of? Rather than teaching politics or sex education (not health education, not same) but about how to treat our peers with kindness and respect, online and in person, because “we’re”beginning to losing our humanity!

So, Guy just too curious; if one was to do this exact color, but add a drop of the pink in with the purple, would this create a more champagne blonde color, or a warmer blonde (as that’s what I’m picking up here, and makes perfect sense). I know experimenting is ALWAYS so much fun, but I thought I’d ask before, just in case I’m totally off base! Thank you Guy! And, you’re so right when you say “hurt people, hurt people”. Same with jealous people, as they’re often jealous because they feel inferior to the person they’re jealous of. I guess it’s natural to be jealous sometimes, like when your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife becomes attracted to another, but to be jealous, just because someone possesses something you don’t, well… to me that’s a sign that one should do some self care, some self evaluation, and maybe even work a bit harder to find their own best talent, or gift. I have followed Guy for years and I hope he can read this. I think your channel is amazing and I had some advice for you to better gain more followers and interest on youtube. Please seperate out your music videos from your hair videos. Some of us do not watch them (no offense at all - we just come here for hair videos!) It would really boost your channel if you not only seperated them out, but you can do music related videos on one area, and all your hair in another. This way you can grow both aspects - you can do interviews, behind the scenes, inspiration, making of in one youtube channel, then just hair related videos in another. Not only this, but I really would like to see you return to circa 3-6 years ago. Showcase celebrities and influencers with major hair changes, awesome colours, and short interviews with them while they get their hair processed. You can announce and promote via marketing on social medi, do polls and surveys of who people want to see get a makeover and more. I think the old format you did worked really well and helped rise you to larger fame. I would love you to become the go-to hair inspiration channel again. People want to come back to Guy tang for ideas to show their hairdressers and to mimic. Keep making content, I will glady watch all your videos forever - A Big Fan

My hairtexture is exactly like that. it is “frizzy” and zigzag in the texture. I Can lay it Down with cocooil or hard wax,but then it flatten too much. And i have thick hair,i have used every antifrizz product and use haircare Daily . It is though softere and shinyer. If i dont use Daily it goes Monica from friends frizzy episode .
