6 minutes at 325. in the oven and it cooks it fully in the small pan. I have one like it and it works great for sandwiches and such. No flipping necessary.

I agree. I fiddled around with cooking an egg on the stovetop with this skillet with unsatisfactory results, then recently discovered I can simply plop it into my toaster oven, 350 degrees for 10 minutes and it's the perfect sandwich egg!

If you have three of those, and you have an induction stove top, you can cook three things at once on the largest induction thingy. So, if you were doing sausage and egg muffins, you can do three at a time. You don't need to flip btw... you can just put it under the grill. A good quality seasoned beef sausage, taken out of its casing and pressed down into that pan would make a nice sausage patty.

I had got one of these things with the exact same idea in mind. Had pretty similar results too. It worked although it was a little tedious. To finish off the egg I could flip it with or a fork or add a few drops of water and then cover quickly. The steam kind of poaches the rest of the uncooked egg. Might be useful if you wanna try again without needing a second frypan.

I LOVE mine! To make it non-stick, the first thing I did was SAND IT SMOOTH inside, and re-season it. Now I just fry a sausage patty in a 10" pan, while melting a pat of butter in this small pan. I dump out the excess butter, then add the egg, barely breaking the yolk. When the sausage is almost done, I drop the muffin into the toaster and turn the egg out into the pan frying the sausage. The result: a perfect egg McMuffin in under 12 minutes without having to wait in line!

When I cook an egg in my 6' cast iron skillet I coat it with a thin coat of oil then heat it on medium low until hot. Then drop in the egg and immediately cover it with a small glass lid and turn off the heat. the residual heat from the skillet and the trapped heat will cook the whites thoroughly to sunny side up with a runny yoke. Don't want a runny yoke, keep it covered longer.

That is a good method. I have used an ice cube under the lid when I have done it that way before

Have you tried flipping it with a little rubber spatula? Looks like it holds together enough it would flip easy. I need to get myself one of these tiny skillets for eggs. I love making egg and cheese McMuffins. I like that it’s the perfect size. And mine will have American cheese lol

don't waste your money on these, the surface quality is absolute garbage...there's a bunch of weird rough pimple shapes sticking up from bottom of the one I just got so I had to strip it, grind off the defects, and reseason it...embarrassing that these are made in the USA

I received this as a joke. I use it to cook 1/4 slices of bacon for garnishes. Still experimenting with eggs. This inspired me to try again! Thanks!

Get a round Rome pie iron I use one on my stove I cook my sausage first then toast my English muffin in it then cook the egg put together your sandwich and you can heat the entire thing inside if you want also you can make awesome desserts and other sandwiches they are made of cast iron and come in many shapes and sizes but it's perfect for what you're doing.

Most of these I have seen were used as ash trays, not for cooking hence those little round notches and less smooth finish inside.

I bought two of them last week and did the same thing. My wife loves those Egg Muffins. Going to bring them with us on vacation at the cabins for simple breakfast. Not much to do low profile and throw them back in the container in the trunk. Thanks for the tip.

Hi, good video thanks. is the base of this pan big enough to fit a standard hamburger bun? Any idea? A standard bun would be 3.5 but this skillet looks smaller.

Put a piece of tin foil so the yolk can get hard or less runny so you don’t dirty any extra cookware

I have a 4 inch nonstick skillet that had been around at least 10 years in a child's cook set and thought I would give it a try and I love it for cooking eggs and whatever will fit in it! Have baked a biscuit on stovetop, air fryer, oven. Covering egg with a saucer eliminates any other step! Lids for these are outrageous in price! Happy cooking!!
