I will be landing in Osaka and will be taking a bus to Kobe from KIX. 1) Can I buy the Icoca card in Sannomiya Kobe station instead of @ Osaka? 2) Taking the Special Rapid Train from Sannomiya Station to Kyoto Station can I use the Icoca card or need to buy a ticket from the machine?

Thank you for the video ! Our family will go to Osaka in september. So we buy ICOCA cards for 3 adults + 2 kids. If the card is lost, is there refund ? Besides Osaka trains + bus, can we also use this to travel to Kobe + Kyoto ? Or do we need Kansai Thru pass ?

Yes you can buy icoca for you and your kids. Make sure you need to bring your kids passport for kids icoca. Can be refund if you go and tell at their office. But the amount of someone use, can’t be refund. Can you icoca at Kyoto and Kobe. But better check which is cheaper.

@@japan_halal_foodie thanks. Looks like ICOCA is suitable for Osaka only. Hankyu tourist pass is suitable for travelling from Osaka to Kyoto & Kobe. And now i found there is Osaka metro pass. ICOCA, Hankyu, metro pass.. Quite complicated 😬

Icoca can be used for purchasing stuff at retail stores such as convenience stores. Anyway enjoy your trip in Osaka. Come visit my hometown Kobe too.

suica can be bought at Tokyo regions. ICOCA is the one sold at Kansai regions. It's same function. However now suica stops distributing now.
