Been trying to find out but wasn’t not able to see anywhere, which rotisserie brand or model you are using? My GMG Daniel Boone is not rotisserie ready, I’m sure it’s easy to modify but not sure which road to take. Any inputs ?

GMG sells their rotisserie kit. I’m sure you could find it on Amazon. Might have to drill a couple holes through. Thanks for watching!

Hey there, nice and easy to follow video, thanks for sharing! I have the exact same setup, all the way over in The Netherlands and I'm going to do the same. The chicken is already brined. I'm wondering though, what temp did u set the GMG to?
@RicsBBQSpecialties2 жыл бұрын
Hello and Thanks for watching! I had the temperature set at 350
@bs50642 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video, fantastic! I have the exact same Daniel Boone (Ledge) setup with rotisserie. But I'm new to this so will be my first time doing a bird on the rotisserie. I understand that you put the weight down on the thick side of bird, but how do you determine where to place the counterweight along the length of the rod? Also, if I put two birds on the rod, is a counterweight needed?
@RicsBBQSpecialties2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Two birds should be fine, but I would put the reverse of each other. Breast up on one and breast down on the other. And I was told that o put the counter weight on reverse. Thanks for watching!!

Hello David. I do brine from time to time and when I do Use Sucklebusters brand (Area 51 Bird Brine) you can get it at Sucklebusters.com and save yourself 10% by using my discount code (RicsBBQ) at checkout. Thanks for watching! 👊🏼

Going have to convert my pellet smoker to use a spit,, FYI, weight goes on the light side of the chicken, like the back side, to counter the heavy breast. Keeps it from flopin. 👍👍

You’re crazy three hours at 350° there will be nothing left at the end of three hours other than a piece of charcoal. You said you’ve never tied up a chicken before I’m going to guess you’ve never smoked one either.

...unless it was a 9lb bird. About 20 minutes per lb should be enough - I did a 5lb bird for about 1 hour and 40 mins - starting off at 400 for 15 mins, and then reduce to 350. It was perfect!
