24:08 I think the small handle on the shoulder strap, which makes changing the orientation of the bag easy, could also help prevent the accidental opening of the fidlock buckle, as you mentioned earlier in the video. It appears the loop is large enough to operate even with gloves on.

Purchased this bag hoping it would be amazing. The strap is not great. When transferring from the back to front position on your body, extra fabric by the clip folds over making it catch on your clothing. Additional the clip that holds the excess length of strap is useless and doesn’t stay in place. It’s a small bag, why is the strap so over built with padding?
@Youknowthebo7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience with the bag. I agree with you: the strap end organizer isn't that great

I really love the look of this bag……but yah the strap it’s a bit to much 😂 an handle to grab an handle ? I also think they should have went with a blacked out heart and arrow logo instead of the Carryology x Bellroy. Either way it’s a nice looking bag.

Glad I'm not the only one that has an issue with the clip that holds the strap. It's pretty bad for a sling that was so expensive. The strap falls out of it so easily.

My favorite upgrade on this is the strap and choice of connector. I hope Bellroy decides to update their venture sling line with the same changes. I have all three sizes of their existing ones, but the strap and the fidlock connector aren't ideal. I use the 2.5 liter sling every day, but when I put my backpack on, it frequently unbuckles.

I agree with a lot of your criticisms of the bag. I do not like that “water trough” on the outer pocket, where I live it can rain a bit and water will absolutely collect there. I was also quite shocked at how “open” the main compartment of the bag is to the elements. I understand it is necessary for the self compression and 2 way zipper to work, it is just surprising is all. I do love the materials and build quality is top notch. I agree though. This bag is in a weird spot. It is either too big or too small in my opinion. But like you said I’ll probably just end up using it as a personal item for the plane.

Thank you for the PSA on the leak potential with this bag. It seems to me like they don’t want to make too many design changes out of cost, which seems stubborn to me as a consumer. I think I’ll look elsewhere for a sling. This bag has a lot of potential, but they decided to do a carryology limited run which is absurd.
@sh1fu7 ай бұрын
I think they should have used the heart and arrow logo on the front and keep it more simple. That checker board pattern on the front leather with the logo writing on it gives it a childish/juvenile look.

Hmm, you did not manage to completely clean off the white spots right? I saw that the smaller ones are gone, but there seems to be one bigger white spot remaining? Asking this from the perspective of material longevity.. Also, love your videos. The negatives are articulated perfectly. The rain gutter does feel weird but i guess (?) its part of their characteristic? Haha. The auto-compression does make accessibility tight (i have a lite sling 7L and venture sling 9L), thus i felt that the 9L would have been a better choice for this, althou i know the increase in size would probably make you scream haha! Lovely editing, great presentation of content. Top top top EDC channel as always!

I honestly love your reviews and perspective about sling/bags and also enjoy talks with Aaron you do. But one thing i have to critique is aproach to water resistance in slings. And its something that is aplicable to almost all reviewers. I feel this insisting on wateresisting, pointing waterproof zippers as a must have feature, is driving the market in wrong direction. Almost every manufacturer includes them now as if we all live in a rainforest 😂 Realisticaly your audience is urban dwelers who have umbrelas or a posibility to hide from the rain… I currently have bellroy venture sling 6l and don’t zip the zippers at all becouse they are unquestionably harder to zip than normal zippers that are not water resistant. I’ve had more than 10 slings up untill now and they all had normal zippers and were much much more user frendly in context of opening with one hand. I understand your argument about biking in the rain but that is such a limited use case and I would opt for a specific sling/bag in that circemstances and have a “normal” sling for other situations. I have a feeling that water resistant zippers are more now a marketing tool for companys which hinders usability, than actual impruvement of use… Just to be clear I was cought in a rain multiple times over the years with my slings and never ever was the normal zipper a pathway for the water to come in… Rain also never came in a slig becouse I don’t live in a rainforest and I have option of taking un ambrella, raincoat, entering a bar and waiting for it to stop, enter a shop, ordering uber, boarding a city train etc. etc. All this waterresistance for me is a gimick that hinders usability. And those gaps on the side of reviewed slings zipps unable it to open wide and fit cameras, waterbottles, edc more easily for example… much more useful than protecting me from standing in a rain for an hour and being surprised that I’m wet along with my belongings 🤣 All in all a sugestion and a friendly reminder that as a reviewer you influence customers and market 🤗 As a comic relief at the end and a side note, not having water resistant zips was not a negative for your selection of elegant (business) slings… cant I be cought in a rain while in a suit 🤣🤣
@Clintonguyen7 ай бұрын
Some fair points you have, but when it comes down to any carryology collab, it is expected for them to go all out on as many features as they can, and a no brainer would be water resistant YKK zippers over regular ones
@BrZi385017 ай бұрын
I understand what you mean but again same types of zippers are on regular bellroys, even hip pack that Bo mentioned, and waterresistant zippers have become un industry standard for a good sling… thats my problem 😅 A side not, if colab went all in on materials, why not include magnetic key ring like black amber does 😉 again a much better quality of use improvement than a sticky waterresistant zipper

Thank you very much for your constructive feedback. I totally understand what your saying and also my position as a reviewer. I get that aqua guard zippers might not be that important in all areas of the world. But considering the prices and values of most of the bags that we review and how much more expensive the items that we put inside have become, it is important for me to mention all of the choices of materials. The furthermore to cover all my bases. Because if I won't mention a specific part of a bag (in this example a aqua guard zipper) I am pretty sure at least one viewer will comment on that. The cool thing about bags is that it really emphasizes how we all have different needs for what a bag needs to bring to the table. Different packing styles, different climates and therefore different needs of choices of materials. So I guess brands want to cover as many needs as possible. So while not everyone might need aqua guard zippers, there sure are a lot of customers who really want them. Thanks again for your constructive feedback. And for watching ✌️
@BrZi385017 ай бұрын
@@Youknowthebo thank you for your warm respone and I totaly agree with everything you said… its of most importance to mentiony all aspects of your expirience with the sling and all its features. Just to make my position more clear, I think that water resistance should be viewed as an added feature that some my appriciate and not as a general point for positive or negative grade for all slings 🤗 I acctualy am looking at getting alpaka waterproof sling at the moment becouse I want a safe hip bag to put my camera when I’m at sea with my 2 year old gremlin 🤭 but I wouldn’t look at its lack of internal organisation as a negative… its specific usecase sling not everyday one and it cant dream of replacing my venture sling😉

I get your point, but to be fair: there is a huge difference between your eyes and a Camera. Just because a camera with only window light to illuminate the scene does not have enough dynamic range to show the interior and therefore I use a flashlight to brighten the scene, does not mean that your eyes can't see what's inside the bag. If I would have used my soft box to light the bag from above opposed to the window from the side, I wouldn't have needed the flashlight. So I am at fault that the interior is shown this dark in the video

@Youknowthebo7 ай бұрын
I didn't either in the beginning. But from a utilitarian standpoint they are a great tool: for me carrying a camera has become a must. Or since having a bigger phone and wanting my pants pockets empty. Just for those two reasons alone the slingbag is a great bag. Furthermore, for flights and keeping your valuables close they are a great recommendation. That being said, I get what you are saying in terms of looks, which is why I prefer smaller ones.
