Throughout the production of Steven Universe, many storylines have ended up scrapped on the cutting room floor, but thanks to the new artbook End of an Era, commentary on the Complete Series DVD Collection and digital panels, we have insight into some of these cut stories and concepts! I feel like 'Perfect Steven' would be a form he reaches after Future, when he's finally overcome his traumas, accepted his mother for who she was, good and bad, and accepted himself. It would be a 'final form' Steven, in full control of his powers. His hair turns pink as a sign of that acceptance.

Looking back I feel like the song “why don’t you talk to each other” is our foreshadowing for the aura thing that Steven does later to convince the Diamonds he’s Pink. The song has Greg turned yellow and Pearl turned blue. During Steven’s singing the background turns pink as then both jump as if startled and look towards each other. I feel like He didn’t know who he was yet and was using his aura to heal theirs, and their colors even match with the diamonds. Like Yellow, Greg was more look forward onto what’s ahead ( in Greg’s case taking care of Steven as seen in his song could never be ready), and like Blue Diamond, pearl was always grieving Rose

Little unrelated to this but becuz u mention pearl being like blue diamond, I always felt that blue diamond and pearl would have either a really great relationship with eachother or a really weird one based on how they both had such strong love for pink I just didn’t get how pearl was phased by Blue diamonds aura given they both felt probs the same grieving pain towards pinks passing

Rebecca sugar and the crewniverse should go work for HBO max. They seem to be much better bosses for cartoon creators, like the fact that they let the creator of Adventure Time make a new series is just so cool and nice from their part. They should do the same for rebecca. I really feel bad for her and the crewniverse because of how CN treated the show.

The one thing i was mostly worried about with Volleyball was the injured part of her physical form, because since it was caused by Pink Diamond i was afraid it was almost the same as gem corruption and that Volleyball's injury would spread to Pearl when they fused, but thank God a permanently injured gem physical form isn't the same as corruption.

Yeah! I saw it as PTSD. That VBall was just still suffering from the PTSD and over time it would slowly crack more. But once Pearl helped a little I think it helped it stop cracking but heal. That's why in the episode of " Stevens here to help" moment they won't show VBalls eye. They have it covered up.

I kinda don't think Pink Pearl being evil would've have added much to Steven Universe future looking at how they treated other villians in the show like Blue bird, mean lapis and Jasper where they either only appear once or in Jasper's case don't show up that often I'm glad they didn't go down that route plus I think it would've been to similar to Spinel. Although I still wish Pink Pearl could've showed up a bit more in future because the show only having X amount of episodes really hindered it.

As a writer... the origins of the diamonds would been tied to the biggest hint we had for ages: "THE WAR" All the reasons why the diamonds did what they did. Not cause they were programmed to.. but because they feared organic life in some way. Try to see them as the "Reapers from Mass effect" They do this so organic life cannot create setient inorganic life that would destroy them. If you put that into place with "The diamonds were made to colonize and make more so the people who made them would dominate more." Then suddenly you come to one huge moment. The diamonds one day revolted... cut off from their masters for some reason. Maybe it was inperfection of organic life. Maybe it was the fact organic life gets in the way of resource gathering. Something dark but simple... or even simpler.. the organics shown kindness , love and such for even imperfections. Something white diamond couldn't stand and it was rubbing off on the gems. Then white Diamond went to war.. creating Yellow and Blue. Yellow to be the army leader. Blue to keep the emotions of the gems in check. Eventually after the war ended... they needed resources since White Diamond had to destroy their own planet for "some reason" ...Or as I see it... Had to make a large Gem weapon to win the rebellion like THE CLUSTER! Now White doesn't like the organics and eventually made Pink to fufill that part she was missing. Something to care for. While White saw organics as a problem.. originally she was to tend to them! That part was missing so Pink was made. And that lead into Era 1. Then the revolt of Rose Quartz happened... and White Diamond was reminded of the organic problem once again and how it was infecting her people. They gem blast earth, put in the cluster and let it to rot. Then if the Cluster Emerges.. they would have another Gem Geode weapon to fight any uprising from organics or their fellow gems. However she was at the same time broken and paranoid and became disillusioned from reality during Era 2. Even when she saw Steven she was like: "Pink was throwing a tantrum again." She couldn't accept the fact any gem could be flawed.. especially a diamond.. especially the one who hurt her in her eyes... Change your mind happen and.. she understands organics now.. and lives with them.. keeping the past a secret since she clearly wiped it to make sure Gems wouldn't revolt and such. So yea.. why do we never know how the diamonds were made? Cause it would make White Diamond even less to redeemable. ...Atleast that's how I see it. The hints clearly show there was need for weapons like the Cluster. But why? The resistance was stomped...and why was homeworld shattered like that? ...Well if we look at the possiblity that the gems were in a war before... It is obivious to me... but that's just me as a writer!

In the end though, this special is meant to serve as the basis for a new antagonistic force, one which will sow the seeds for counter revolution.

It's CN's fault for treating the show badly. They forced the crewniverse to end the show quickly. In my opinion, rebecca and the crewniverse should work for HBO max instead. HBO max is the reason why Adventure Time Distant Lands exist. And i really think they can help rebecca make the episodes that never made it in the original and future series.

Theory time... The diamonds are an archive from a civilisation that was dieing, as a means of being remembered in some capacity. Home world was their home and by the time their creation was fully realised they were long extinct from their own destructive ideologies, ideology that was passed onto their creations. I agree a second movie should totally focus on the origin of Diamond and Stevens relationship to them. But I'd also like to see a focus on Connie and Steven’s relationship as a whole, explore how a relationship that was based so much on innocence and learning from each other becomes once you loose said innocence and have nothing left to learn while tackling the mature side of a relationship. Connie got screwed over in the movie and future, we saw Connverse kiss now we just need it set in stone that they will be perfect for eachother for the rest of there lives. I'm sure they can fit both into one movie though.

Lion does have an origin story actually!! in the episode Buddy’s Book it’s shown that Rose Quartz had a bunch of lions, and after Steven heals Lars and comes back home he realizes why Lion is pink. basically Lion was just one of her ordinary lions that died and was brought back to life

Don't think of it like that, hate is a harsh word. ( as an example) the hate behind Steven universe's core was about taking its ideas and themes and finding a new way it could be better. I also want to become a writer, and I would think of it like different ways it all could have turned out. Do what you think works and what people would like to see. I think that “hero Steven” would’ve been the perfect ending to SU future. It’s like the middle ground of normal Steven and Diamond Steven, and feels like it could’ve been a good way to show Steven accepting his new Diamond powers in a healthy way?? Maybe that’s just me lol

I'm honestly really bummed that we didn't get any kind of peek into how the Diamonds formed. What needs to happen for a diamond to form? How did they come together to form a matriarchy, or were they made for that from the start? If there's more diamonds out there, how do they govern and what would happen if they visited Homeworld? There's so much potential there it's insane. I really do hope we get a story expansion to delve into the lore that couldn't fit into the show.

You know what I think would be cool? It’d be nice if they could make another series that’s a prequel and shows the backstory of the diamonds and such. Maybe Pink could basically be the main character. I know we’ve seen her past but it would be nice to see her before she got Earth as a colony and hung out with the diamonds. I’d love to see that tbh. Then maybe this series could end with Pink turning into Rose and being pregnant with Steven idk. Just an idea I had :)

I think it would have been fun to see a rejuvenated Jasper. Without constantly being told she is a perfectly formed gem, without being born into a war and immediately fighting, and without the pain of losing her gem who she had been conditioned from day 1 to lay her life down for. It would have been nice to see Jasper be a lot more innocent and nicer--basically the good person hidden deep down within her or the person she could have been. And it also could have been cool to see how she interacted with other gems- especially Lapis who would obviously remember her. It would be especially cool if she was really inspired by Lapis and wanted to hang around her since she clearly adored her after they split from their fusion (not saying I want them together it was unhealthy). I'd love a slightly socially awkward Jasper basically. Also last thing: since Jasper has signs of corruption on her maybe she would have the opposite ideas of herself--she wouldn't understand what is wrong with her and maybe it would get to show how she actually feels about her corruption. Her whole life she was 'perfect' and now she is permanently damaged. Even though it is cured the scars still remain

I honesty still prefer these Storylines over what we got, ESPECIALLY that Thnaos Sandworm-ish creature that ended up Into his "Beastly" Form. Seriously It honestly didn't do much nor destroyed that much buildings! Lord Dominator's Giant Mecha battle was more promising then this and we still didn't get that Epic Mecha Battle.

I would have loved to see SU Future get fleshed out with more episodes. They could have still focused on Steven's arc as the main story, but I really wish we got a Lars space adventure, more Volleyball, and ESPECIALLY more Jasper! Seriously, after all that Rebecca said about Jasper having these deep-seated issues about her own worth, I think it's a crime that she never got any real development!

@Chase Conner no because Stevonnie is taller than amethyst and pearl but slightly shorter than garnet and we can see this when we were first introduced to Stevonnie. Pearl is as tall as pink diamonds leg and we can see this in the episode “a single pale rose” when she reveals she’s pink diamond. So technically pink diamond is 2x taller than Stevonnie.

Honestly I wonder if after the revolt on earth there were any other revolts In my head I had this idea of an alternative world where the diamonds actually destroyed earth and the stories of earth and the idea of world without diamonds rule and a revolt by pearls that would be crushed and after this a secondary class of gems who are lower class but gained power through hard work they were resented by gems like emeralds and a anti diamond movement formed under them eventually leading to a civil war between diamonds and a anti diamond democratic movement

Honestly, Perfect Steve sounds so fucking awesome. That could be tied in with the Diamond origins, maybe Steven could find out little by little about the origins of the diamonds and homeworld, and maybe that could unlock Perfect Steven, which he would use on the rare occasion taht the world/ universe is ever threatened again.

Honestly i would love another movie or series to actually complete all the most caring/unsolved mysteries about mostly all of this. But this would be like an alternate storyline and spreate to where we left off. Other thing i want to happen (in my opinion) is a movie that tell's the story of Rose/Pink Diamond as an actual story telling movie but actually seeing it ourselves without like being just how the series did many times. I think that would VERY AWESOME and spreate to everything we are now but this time in the past. A bit more content of the franchise for us that would actually make so much sense, who knows, but i think it's not over🌺

In a fanfic I'm writing called The Contest of Champions, Steven DOES get a form akin to this "Hero Steven" idea the crew had. But here is what MY idea is like, instead. Long story short; during the contest, Steven and five other heroes from other worlds (or TV shows) are trapped within something called the "Mindscape;" which is a term meant to describe their combined state of mind. There; the Crystal Gems, Greg, Lars, the Off Colors, Connie, Spinel and even the Diamonds (along with the other heroes comrades) see what their friends have been keeping hidden from them for years; their anger, their anxieties, their self-loathing and of course, the embodiment of their their overall fears. This is shown in the form of child-like versions of the heroes. In Steven's case, it's the Baby him we saw from the theme song video (complete with the band-aid on the cheek and the missing tooth.) This part of my fanfic also includes a tea ceremony scene akin to the one we saw in the final season of Samurai Jack. For those who've seen it, the heroes each make a cup of tea using all the right steps and ingredients. But in the end, they're told that they've neglected the most important one...balance. After one final confrontation with their darker selves, the heroes are released from the mindscape. By achieving spiritual balance, they are also given new forms. In Steven's case; he's now as tall as his father with a blue shirt, long hair (which almost resembles the hairdo Greg once had in his youth,) his trademark jeans and sandals. At the center of his shirt is Steven's iconic star...but it has rainbow colors, instead of it being just golden yellow. The rainbow is meant to represent his love for all things, especially his Gem family. Personality-wise, Steven still harbors his heroic maturity. But he's also brought back his Classic Steven traits, which was something sorely lacking in Steven Universe: Future

And Steven universe the movie they could have used volleyball as the villain volleyball would come to Earth to seek answers and love from Steven which pink used to give her when she gets there she sees Pearl and all the other gems spending time and having fun with Steven that she spies on them for a couple days and soon as she sees some of the stuff that pink used to do with her she starts to get her crack starts to grow more and more as she gets angry and angry and more mad at what pink get to her now pink left her so after that she's finally confronts the gems so you could say and she shows how the pain she's feeling and it actually corrupts her and she's a bigger fight than they can actually handle so she poops the gyms and they say food from time or she could have cracked the gyms a little bit and Steven has to heal them Steven couldn't go up against her so he retreats and the movie keeps going on there's no rejuvenator or anything there's no killing the Earth but she's still very strong and she actually does get some kind of weapon just in case she would need it to come back her up and these weapon in with the dance with her little ribbon thingy or whatever and it starts deflecting pain on the earth that makes everything all the it doesn't like kill the Earth but it makes all the plants and stuff and all the animals start to get weaker and there starts to die and water starts to dry up and all that kind of like what the thing did but like they kind of cracked their the cluster starts to get the gems starts to get shattered even more from the cluster and if Steven does all the all of his powers to get the gyms back to normal he finally gets them back and they're back to normal but now they have corrupted cards on them from the paint well Garnet has them and Amethyst has them from the pain that Rose brought to them by finding out that roses actually pink diamond and but they still okay but they're weaker so Pearl has to really push through and save the whole squad they couldn't fuse because they were too weak so after fighting she's the other part is not corrupted as much anymore she's her corruption starts to go down cuz she starts to feel like she's getting them back getting pink back to say from the pain that she's gave her so she's putting the pain back on pink is that that's what she feels so it is something this big battle and the Earth's kind of decaying and it's like going back so they fighter they win they Steven becomes her friend Steven starts to treat her right showing her that her mother still loves her cuz she thinks that Pink's gym is the one that's doing it pink is done getting inside of Steven so he becomes her friend she treats her rightshe starts to get back to her mom she's getting her normal room her eyes starting to come back but she still has one little scar over her eye that can never be healed never over anything never be held it's just one of the scar alone that goes over her eye she still she has eye now though it can open not a lot not as much as the other one but it can open but she has her eye and it's so scar over it sooner than later the diamond show up and white apologizes for what she's done and she comes back and she likes spindale when they sing the song and now they're back to normal and they remind her of pink or whatever and know how to love her or whatever and I feel like that's would have been that would have been way shorter but I feel like that could have actually been just an episode but like that would have been a better movie in my opinion or like a little episode in my opinion than the movie but the movie was great I love the movie but I that was pretty good that's it so I have to say
