Thanks for the tips! It was my 1st time making votive candles using Soy Wax 464 and the freezer tip really worked and it made it easy to remove from the mould. Cheers!

This is just superb, I've been looking for "what temperature does soy wax melt" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Peyaniel Psychological Predominance - (do a search on google ) ? It is a great one off guide for discovering the trick to be a candle maker for profit minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my mate got great results with it.

Great demo, thank you so much. I would love for you to make some beeswax videos. They are hard to wick and the wax is a precious resource, so it would be great to have a pro like you show me the ropes. If you are not interested in working with beeswax but you know some great educational resources, I would really appreciate some referrals. Thanks again, Tim.

I guess I'm too obsessive compulsive but the wick pins leave a little ring around them that is sometimes asymmetric. I tend to trim that off with a knife.

Yeah it's so hard to keep the OCD in check!

Thanks for the video! I have a couple questions, I've used the votive pins before, but they don't fit snug in the mold and leaves a little edge of wax, do you do anything about them? Also, do you do anything to prevent the wick from falling out?
@TimberRidgeGifts6 жыл бұрын
+TheSchneek I’ve had that issue with hobby store brands, but the ones I got from CandleScience fit pretty snug and the base is thin enough that it doesn’t seem like it would cause the same issue. The metal wick tab fits pretty snug in the hole so I haven’t had any problems with the wick falling out. If it were a problem, a half second blast on the bottom of the candle from the heat gun would probably solve it and hold it in place.

What am I doing wrong? I am using soy wax, Golden Wax 494 and wick pins and sometimes the votives come out easily, other times they won't come out at all and they don't slide off the wick pins like in your video. I usually have to tap or hit them on the countertop which sometimes damages the candle!!! What mold release do you use? All of the mold release I see is for silicone molds! I've been making soy candles for 8 years and I'm suddenly getting a bunch of orders for votives. HELP!

Hey Tim ! thanks for the video I was just wondering whether you knew how many ounces (approx) if you were making 10 votives but with paraffin wax? :)
