@BladezAndrew4 жыл бұрын
eightshvee I highly doubt a Prius which weighs at least 300kg more (400kg more and less hp than jdm ae86) is going to be faster. Actual ae86’s are pretty quick, 900kg and 128hp is a better power to weight ratio than almost all cars from the 80’s including 80’s corvettes, muscle cars, the celica supra, rx7 at the time etc, and even a better power to weight ratio than say, a E46 325i and other sporty cars that are 20 years newer. The problem is people that get ae88’s which weigh over 10% more and make 10% less power making it essentially over 20% like 20-25% slower than an actual JDM AE86 GT APEX, then say “this car is slow” like bruh you’re not driving an actual ae86, AND the engine is like 40 years old not making the same power it usually would. Like this might seem random but it’s like how in Call of Duty, lightweight makes you run 13% quicker. The ae86 is like the ae88 if you could equip lightweight..... twice....
@negativeindustrial4 жыл бұрын
Bladez Andrew You’re delusional. AE86 are fun drift cars but basically all of their Japanese contemporaries are faster. I run with a large all Toyota crew which includes examples of nearly all Toyota sports cars ever made (Including USDM and JDM GT-Apex). I can give you real world experience on these cars. It might surprise you to know that, stock vs stock, MKII MR2 Turbos are quicker than almost every other turbo Celica, SC MR2, IS300 and, yes, even a stock MKIV Supra TT. ST-205 is the next quickest. Then very closely followed by the MKIV TT. AE86, in a straight line are much slower than all of these cars. Lots of fun for a slow car but still very slow, even with a blacktop upgrade. It’s also worth noting that all the turbo cars respond far better to mods than the N/A cars so the gap just gets bigger as the cars are modded.

There is a fascinating little detail about Chinese culture in this video and highlights China's generational differences. The interviewee is Chinese and had a passion for cars as a little kid. Once he was old enough to drive, he wanted a Toyota AE86. His parents thought it was a piece of shit and refused to buy it for him; thankfully, though, his grandfather supported him pursuing his passion and bought it him as a gift and supported him in restoring and modifying his AE86 Grandfather: genuine man carrying old Chinese culture of supporting passions, chasing dreams, and improving yourself Father: unsupportive and blinded by China's culture of face. The CCP has drained all the passion from China....
@frank_58894 жыл бұрын
Damn Millennials probably it’s because his grandfather once did the same thing to his son, but age brings him wisdom. Don’t link most of the bad things to CCP. If Chinese people are living a good life, then whoever governs them deserves a fair comment, and the only way to know that is to experience the life in China by yourself.

thebigeggman that’s why I made this comment, media exaggerated bad things about China and seldom mention China’s effort. Most of news regarding China are in the form of a story which are opinions generated by reporters that take a strong lead in forming public opinion. Go to the streets in China and see it yourself, otherwise you are using others opinions which might only be part of the truth.
@htsun59164 жыл бұрын
@@frank_5889 What he says about passion and culture is true - look at the large cultural output to the world by the likes of Japan, SK, Taiwan, any relatively free country in comparison. When one cannot speak freely without government restriction and approval - whether a cartoon, a political statement or concerns about a virus to colleagues - culture and passions are stifled. "Self-improvement" requires self-criticism, something that the CCP will arrest its own people for.

In a youtube saturated by drawn out videos meant to make money, your channel continues to stand out by providing quality content time and again. Thank you for keeping the passion in youtube!

With all that’s going on in both the US and across the world this was a tonic to hear somebody talk about how cultures can learn from each other.

I noticed the PLUS ULTRA on the Supra wing. I do love this guy, he completely gets exactly why the AE86 is my raison d'être, and seems like a very nice dude.

Once again, fantastic production value that you guys provide to us for free. Also, Jackie's perspective is something we can all learn from. Thanks everyone 🙏

He is disappoonted for failing in a track. I can't even buy a car 😂. In my opinion, driving a slower car is more fun. It takes less money and you can drive to its limit anywhere.

watch the video.. that's the reason why he has a corolla
@matth62844 жыл бұрын
That Corolla is like my little 2000 Honda Civic EX that EVERYONE criticized me for. It's full stock, has some rust and an oil leak and slow af. But I worked really hard for it, and I love it to pieces. I've been improving on every single little tiny problem that it has, from a broken hood latch to broken AC. And whenever I see another 2000 Civic that's been moded with actual taste, I can't help but give them I big thumbs up and they smile and drive away. Coolest thing ever

I had to watch this again. It's just a great video. His message and story are so profound. There's this idea of small, consistent progress everyday leading to greatness; but also, that pursuit of greatness is balanced with passion. He's right; once the thing you love becomes a job, it's easy to forget the passion you had in the beginning of your journey. Also, his message applies to whoever edited this video. The way this video is presented with the shots of the cars and the music in the background, cut scenes etc.... it is just perfection. I'm no filmmaker or anything but that stood out to me.
