VF was esports before esports in the fighting game genre. It was also the #1 3D fighter forever until 2012 when they stopped making games. I cant wait for Harada to have his friendly competition back. It is his favorite fighting game, after all.

I get what you're trying to say BUT I think the "esports before esports" goes to Street Fighter II. While "going pro" was not considered a viable career until the massive success of Street Fighter IV brought higher prize pools and greater prestige, players have competed in fighting game tournaments since the release of the original SF II all the way back in 1991.

@ KBD sucks, even more than it did in 7, which it also sucked in, sure side step got buffed but moves track even more so it basically doesn’t matter, in VF when I step something…. I actually step it. Tekkens movement was what kept everything else in check.

Towards the end of the vid he says it’s clunky bland and no wow factor. Apparently it needs to look like a rave from a night club with every hit on the opponent or whatever. My only argument about the series is that we never really got to know the story of the game just snippets from the manual in the game or online. Yet most players will say I don’t care about story I just want to play. Then don’t gripe about these characters not having any personality. It’s one thing to play a game and not get it the first time but not really trying to learn and say the game is crap that’s a disgusting take to have.

Beating low level players by just mashing like a 5 year old really can’t give you a flow of the game. Best part of VF is that it's one of those games people shit on till they actually pick it up and play it. I was 16 when I first played VF4 Evolution for the PS2 as a gift from my uncle for my birthday. He described it as Street Fighter since he was talking to me through the phone while I was home and picking it up from a swap meet. When he gave it to me ofcourse I thanked him and all, and when I saw the cover and manual It looked sick as hell so finally playing the game I noticed how iffy it felt for my scrub ass at first. I kept playing for days, weeks, and months after learning and having so much god damn fun.

Tekken it's a combo game, while VF it's a fighting game, so u have to fight most of the time instead of juggle the enemy. So that's the news tmm, u have to fight baby Back crouching dashes add tons of defensive options while in tekken u can only crouch forward, so a tekken player can't even imagine they can escape while crouching. Also, players are balanced and 100% coherent with they fighting style, no stupid patch moves added to compensate the missing balance like in tekken. And let me say, tekken has 80% of useless kidz characters in the roster from 6th chapter on.

People forget that everything DOA and Tekken did that people love, VF did first. It was so innovative, and not just because it was the first 3D fighter. I'm so hyped that it's finally back, and stoked for VF6. I've watched MMS for years, and will continue to watch him, I like his stuff, but he hates everything that isn't Tekken. I've learned a long time ago to never take him seriously when he talks about other FGs.

My love of VF is the only reason I bought Tekken 2. Tekken didn't reach VF2 levels until Tekken 3. When T4 was bombing, I was having the time of my life playing VF4. VF5 is a deeper fighting game than T6 and TTT2. My point is that Tekken has never left Virtua Fighter in the dust. The Clive guest character reveal has me wanting VF6 more. A good VF game might encourage Harada to chill out with the anime shit.

I play both tekken and virtua fighter 5 on ps. And I can say with certainty that the vf community is way more welcoming. I have met so many toxic players in tekken pluggers, etc. When I started vf I had guys that were like 20 levels above me, letting me win some rounds and teaching me the game. They could have easily just destroyed me and moved on. but they like sparred with me almost in order to teach. it was really cool.

I can't believe the complete lack of inhability to transfer any fighting game knowledge. I can't imagine hes this bad. Hated tekken 7, I did like 8, great game that creates a competitve environment and enables people to learn rapidly via the replay system. With that, not sure if he has ever played DOA, or hate to say, MK (a single 2P on hit) into Mid strike/throw. I am no experienced VF player, played a bit on PSN, but in those ranks literallly you win with 2P, P, 6P, and throw and can frame people out. My Jeffrey i put on today and got to like rank 18 with a 75% win rate. Man, Tekken players really can only play 1 fighter.......Also, VF5 and VF in general is a top 3D fighter, honestly, mechanically better than Tekken 8, way less Unga. Only shit mechanic IMO is stagger.

I saw that and watched his stream and the previous ones with VF. It looked like he went in there with his mind made up to trash the game before he'd even played it. This is kinda why I don't like TMM other then being a typical kazuya player I always hated his attitude towards other games. I admit I don't care much for vf5 but that's because I think it desperately needs to be updated and they've released the game 50 times I'm actually hype to see vf6 and its updated sound and animation. That being said asides from doa6, tekken 8 prob my least fave 3d fighter right now I just feel like the 3d plain is poorly implemented when u just clipped by so much stuff. I've always preferred Sc6 and Doa5lr for 3d games. Big hopes for sc7 return

Virtua Fighter could be Tekken's rival in this age. But it all depends on if the new entry is or isn't dry. Absolutely nothing stands out from the rest of the competition. Unless they widen the appeal and brush up on certain aspects like the bland character names, designs and personalities, uninteresting looking combat, and the odd looking animations, then I don't see a future for virtua fighter. The new VF looks nice from the gameplay snippet though. Hopefully it's not an esports focused game, that would immediately ruin any chances it had.

This is a lite remaster of a 2006 game. They barely touched anything besides the visuals. It is a re-release of the remaster in the PS4. Some things will feel outdated. But gameplay is solid.
