I've never played a Virtua Fighter before and after playing the beta all I have to say is: 3D fighter with a simple attack scheme, block button, and movement that doesn't feel like trash? Soulcalibur, is that you?
@newphonewhodis7152Ай бұрын
Icons wrap my head around the Block button, will have to relearn that
@robbierotten2024Ай бұрын
I’m not sure I would call its attack scheme simple lol. It makes up for the lack of buttons with an absolute crap ton of moves and input styles. I thought the same thing for a little bit, until I went into the training lab and realized my favorite character had 6 pages of moves, with the first page having like well over 30 moves on it. I would say street fighters control scheme is way simpler. It seems intimidating at first for new players cuz many button + motion input, but at its core it’s a very straight forwards and basic system. QCF/B, HCF/B, DP inputs, 3 kick strengths and 3 punch strengths and you’ve gotten like 99% of inputs down. This game has like, 3 buttons. One punch and one kick with a block button, but each button has 30 something move variants attached to it involving holding a direction including diagonals, flick inputting a direction at the same time as the button input, directional inputs like in SF, motion inputs like in SF, multi button inputs, lots of inputs based on special conditions involving their dodging and grappling system which is fairly dynamic, and many other variations I don’t remember enough to quote. With many of these systems being used in the same move input. Maybe other characters are just much simpler than the one I chose or something, I’m playing as the Drunken Fist guy

I once won a match doing nothing but Goh 6K counter-hit into 2 P+G crouch throw (pickup into clinch) into P+G (release to +12). Looping that over and over killed my opponent, and the only thing they'd have needed to do to break put at any point is just touch the block button. They never did.
