Would be viable in player hands with the right character builds and hullmod. Leave the hunter-killer to the other officers in attack oriented frigates, and anchor ships or fire support platforms unofficered with support doctrine if preferred to stay within 240 to take advantage of fleet skills.

Harbinger needs some good skills and mods to extend the CR. It's my favorite ship when I make it have more CR than non-phase ships, and it's Triple-Threat Phase Lances are almost as long as an Ion Beam.

I have never seen those ships yet. My initial thought is that you are using mods for that, but I will have to take a look at your ship layout video. Also, if you are not using mods then this has probably been patched by now. I did noticed that spinning your ship may have reduced the flux generation, but I'm not sure. It could also be that they fired off their best weapons early on. EDIT: I just noticed that you made this video exactly one week after GrumpyThumper made his on the Monitor. I see, I see. Still, nice video.

@@Soulsphere001 It is a great ship to use as a distraction. Cheap to deploy and even in AI hands can soak up capital-grade firepower for extanded periods of time. Best used with agressive officers with the shield skill (elite) and without any weapon (so flux wont be wasted on pointless shooting); without an officer they are far less effective (as they then cant vent as much flux while keeping fortress shield up and may be a bit more hesitant to go in the enemy's face). And thats how monitors are supposed to work or they wouldnt pack the same fortress shield as the paragon on a sluggish frigate that has only 2 light guns and 2 built-in flak guns (so bad firepower against anything bigger than missiles or fighters), with an unique built-in hullmod allowing it to vent hard flux with shields up built in, so while they could get nerfed how they operate is very much intentional :p Even its in-game description cites it as being a ship focused on pure durability, for better or worse. And yup they are vanilla ships, although they tend to be a rather rare find. Mind you even with mods the only ship i know of that can do better at its job... is literally a monitor variant (great houses monitor, main edge being a faster timeflow on the ship making everything on it operate a lil bit faster including passive flux venting, thats pretty much it)

Other frigate's or ships just die except for maybe some of the slowest ships of the century which then gets trolled by the terrasect due to superior speed... I was contemplating on using monitor before but I have no points left to spend on combat skills... Those fighters are annoying as hell though... Wish I could refit it to my fleet Xd
