Wall of text coming up: Ballet is an almost spiritual art form, and those who are serious about it consider it to be life. Without dance there is no life. Dance isn't necessarily something you enjoy all the time, but you need to do it. It's like breathing. Perhaps there is a similar sentiment in urban dance/hip-hop/kpop dance. The body is also seen as your most intimate instrument. Some people use tubas or oboes, objects as instruments. A dancer's body is their own self. There is something very intimate about that. My analysis of the condition of his body is based on what I've seen in the ballet world. Dancers put superficial aesthetics over function and safety, which ruins their bodies over time. Hyper-mobility is prized in ballet as an aesthetic ideal, but it makes you remarkably weak and unstable. The dancers who have it are put on a pedestal, and all other dancers want to emulate them, so they push their bodies to limit in order to achieve the ideal. This is the same thing I see Taeyong doing: aesthetics over safety. The long term-cost of this (at least in the ballet world) are joint replacements, chronic pain, loss of the ability to walk properly, etc. That's not fun to have for the rest of your life. The analysis was also based on my own experience with injury. I also have hyper-mobility, and I've had my fair share of injuries (although all were, thankfully, not terribly debilitating). Every time I got injured, I would enter a period of questioning. I would feel betrayed by my body. My most intimate instrument was no longer functional. My link to life was gone. There is a kind of terror that comes with this. An existential terror. No one should have to endure that, Taeyong or anybody else. I know what it's like. It's as if the rug were pulled out from under you. I don't want that for Taeyong. When I first started watching Kpop, I would see these kids' bodies and how they moved and I always thought to myself "Well, that's not gonna last long." Taeyong was one of them. I thought, "Well, someone has to say something about it" because no one else is talking about it. If there is only one person saying that something is wrong, that person is usually seen as crazy. I know the costs of speaking up, but I have to do it. I have an obligation as a fellow dancer. The longer I stay in this kpop world, the more I see people like Taeyong as peers instead of idols. I think Taeyong should take a few notes from Haechan, honestly. Taeyong also seems to find artistic fulfillment in music production. If his dance career ends, he always has music. But I still worry because Taeyong isn't as much a musician as he is an all around performer. Only time will tell, and I hope I'm wrong about everything. Side note on pantomime: Pantomime is the explicit acting out of a concept or action. A gesture always has a specific meaning that never changes. I know some other idols kind of allude to things in their lyrics, but pantomime is not alluding to something. It is the literal acting out of something. It is it's own visual language. Taeyong isn't doing *true* pantomime, but it's pretty close for something that's not ballet.

I completely agree, I don’t have hyper mobility myself however I have a few ballet friends that do and I also asked them about it after watching the analysis and they completely agree. Taeyong is by far one of the most aesthetically pleasing dancers in kpop but he NEEDS to take care of his body. Reality is harsh and I’m so happy that people have started speaking up about it. Every time I see Cherry Bomb I constantly think about his ankles and almost shut my eyes, it’s that uncomfortable for me. Again: thanks so much for both of you for slowly making this issue into light. 🙏😊

@@Henry_44 if you see how Haechan executes the falling move in Cherry Bomb, you’ll see that he has his knees pointing he same direction as his feet and his butt is right over his feet when he falls. This helps him cushion his fall and puts less stress on his joints. If Taeyong were to do this, it would lessen the stress on his ligaments and joints so that he wouldn’t be pushing his body to its limits every time he does the choreo. I hope this helps!

taeyong mentioned that he carries a finger brace and an ace bandage in his backpack that he brings to practice bc he sprains his fingers a lot. in 2018, 127 did a segment on nct daily where the boys would go thru eachother's practice bags and explain what the items are and why they're in there. while the other boys had things like snacks, chargers, and earbuds in their bags, taeyong had bandages and finger braces in his bc minor injuries happened often back then, especially with their busy schedule. also, the part in kick it when mark jumping off of taeyong's knee was completely taeyong's idea. the original choreography didn't have that little bit in it and while learning the dance, taeyong decided to suggest that idea to their dance teacher. taeyong does this a lot, like in punch and many other choreographies, in order to spice things up. i hope taeyong understands that the choreo won't always be spicy, but it's sometimes safer to keep the original choreo the way it is.

Yeah, when I first laid eyes on him, I noticed it almost immediately. I've got severe hypermobility, to the point where even my organs are effected. When I was just becoming a teen, I was told by an orthopaedic surgeon, as a level five competitive gymnast no less, that I couldn't use my hands anymore like I had been do to the overuse strain on my wrists and shoulders. No more basics handstands. No more pushups. A couple years later and I couldn't even do taekwondo anymore, when I was about to get my third dan black belt due to my knees and hips. It was heart breaking. The only way I've managed to keep my joints in shape and not have to wear a brace daily is by weight training and swimming, but even then I can't do all of the things someone even in their forties could do. So seeing any idol as "flexible" as someone like Taeyong is really scary, because it's a different type of flexibility. It's easy for me to see the difference in a more healthy flexibility versus someone with a potential genetic defect like I have. I just hope that SM sees what Taeyong has been going through, and that they've been giving him proper physical therapy to prevent degradation and pain.

Taeyong seriously worries me so so much. Like you and Shaky Raindrop mentioned, Taeyong can "break" easily. And especially knowing him, being the selfless person that he is he will always try to improve and put fans before his own health, which can lead to serious injuries.

Videos like shaky raindrops and yours and ones done by other dancers etc are so needed. Although kpop fans already have a lot of concerns and complaints about how companies treat their trainees and idols I feel that people assume that main dancers or main singers know exactly what they’re doing. That’s not the case at all, they’re still learning and I so agree on the thoughts of shouldn’t the choreographers look out for these things. There’s been so many injuries regarding dance in the kpop industry, I know Irene from red velvet had something done on her back with monster when she leans behind seulgi. Ever since shaky raindrop I’ve tried to leave comments on posts, with taeyong currently resting it scared the heck out of me. It’s already been revealed that taeyong has issues with his back and for the first time he didn’t participate in a performance. (It was a recent kick it performance). Not sure if it was for mental or physical health but either way it was terrifying thinking that something bad could’ve happened. Although we’ve finally had an update from him it’s still concerning. I’m glad I stumbled upon shaky raindrop or I would’ve never realized. And I really appreciate your thoughts as well. Sorry for the long comment, but please, we need to look out for others and our beloved idols.💚

Yes these choreographers really need to think about these things, they need to make sure the moves they are teaching are at least safe or tell the idols that they should be careful, although taeyong does put a lot of imput into the choreo and he suggest dance moves so taeyong may need to do a bit of research as well, he seems like he acts on instinct when he dances so he doesn't really think that if that move is bad for him physically or not, as a dancer I know a lot of dancers like taeyong who move on instinct and will do all these ungodly moves that freak me tf out lmao anyways I hope taeyong is okay and healthy and keeps improving in that aspect

@@floramorgan6112 I think LTY Bar, Taeyong's big chinese fansite/fanbase, wrote a letter to SM pleading to stop the knee move in Kick It choreo. But Taeyong assured everyone, on his vlive days later, that he's okay with it. But yeah, like we all say, Taeyong is very passionate about dancing so he tends not to think too much on the potential dangers. We need someone, a mentor, to come to him and teach him that safety comes first before artistic expression. For now, we can only hope that he'll be okay.

I was so glad when this video was made because I've always noticed how he emphasizes his movements by bending his ankles in unnatural ways. He tends to dance on the SIDES of his feet a lot, and it always gives me a heart attack. In fact, it was how I identified him in the blackout dancer Hello 82 video thing. SM infamously doesn't do well with taking care of the physical and mental health of their artists. We've seen Taeyong in neck braces, Taeyong having to get massages backstage, Taeyong buying bandages, and now Taeyong is having a break for his health but we don't know anything about his condition. Also, TyongF (Taeyongs fandom name) are especially protective of his risky dancing not because they're not worried about him, but because he specifically asked us not to worry and they're trying to respect his wishes and trust him. Like, with the Mark jumping off his knee move, after TyongFs were really worried about it, Taeyong reassured us that it wasn't hurting him and he was fine--- but do we really think SM sprung the extra money to teach Taeyong about his body condition and safety measures? We're talking about the company infamous for human rights violations accusations-- which have caused SEVERAL of their artists to leave. We're talking about the company that let career destroying false rumors about Taeyong circulate for the past 4 years-- only now deciding to break their silence on it. As a fan of his, I don't just want to blindly believe everything is okay. I want to hear directly from him that he is aware of the risks and is taking them into account. I've noticed him going less hard in practices lately and I hope that's proof of his knowledge-- but I'm also worried it's just evidence of how overworked he's been.

I didn't stan any kpop group until I had to chaperone my daughter and her friends at a Super M concert. Taeyong's performance was mesmerizing and I had to look into him more... Which is what got me into the NCT and more. It's amazing how Taeyong carries the group. When he was on his break and didn't perform Kick It with the group, you can tell that it was not as energetic as the previous performances. I'm sure the group was feeling the lack of his presence, not having that "center" to keep them in the right mindset. I hope he takes care of himself. He is such a great performer and can bring so many people (like me) into the marvelous world of K-pop.

Thank you so much, Jeff! As someone who's also"bendy" (term we hypermobile ones use for ourselves sometimes) I couldn't stop worrying for Taeyong after watching this. The thing is that it is completely possible for a severely hypermobile dancer to continue their career minimising damage. Yes, his weight helps him but it's also his level of fitness. Because the tendons, ligaments and joints are looser, muscles are weaker. There are specific ways to build up the muscles to do the work of those ligaments, tendons and joints. Reumatholigists and physiotherapists are for the most the experts in this and I'm sure that if they were to explain the safe way of doing things to someone like Taeyong, it would help a lot. Unfortunately, SM had got a bad track record of injured idols like for example Tao, ex EXO. As a martial artist, he already had some injuries but he was pressured to do stunts and tricks in almost every choreo and this ended up costing him dearly. This is one of the main reasons why his parents sued SM and why he left. That's just one, quite extreme, example. I really hope all this makes its way to SM and/or Taeyong himself. He's truly a unique artist. We really, really don't want to lose him as one. 💓💓💓

I personally have hyperlaxity and everything said in the video is pretty much true. For some people that may doesn't look so serious but in reality it is because you're basically very likely to break a bone and also you get bruises way easier than normal people do and it takes way more time for them to heal. It's very important for someone with hyperlaxity to exercise but at the same time not to be put under a lot of pressure because with the time your bones start degenerating and you have to take a lot of care of yourself in order to be healthy like everyone else. (At least this is what the doctor told me when I went to see why I am being like that). Basically your flexibility is your weakness and it can harm you 🙁

I DIDN’T KNOW TAEYONG HAS HYPERFLEXIA, ME TOO (on my arms) and it’s problamatic sometimes. It’s common on arms and hands, but i rarely see it on legs, i only know my synchronized swimming teacher. Honestly it’s annoying bc i can’t put all my weight on my arms like others, since when i stretch them they go backwards and i’m scared i might hurt myself putting to much pressure on them (like breaking them backwards oof) so I have to make extra efford on putting my arms on a straight line position. Also when creating figures, it would be nice if i could just do a fast movement stretching my arms and it matched my teammates’, but i always gotta control my strength so i don’t look BROKEN 💀 ps: everytime i stretch my friends go “eww” LOL.

I wanna see you react to their more vocal-foused performances as well. End To star for example. But I think No Longer or Long Slow Distance or Blow My Mind would be great

The initial remix of the NCTmentary videos and audios honestly gave me chills the first time I watched it. Also, what Shaky Raindrop talks about... she has said that the only way she knows how to correct it is though completely breaking him down and using long years of ballet training which TY probably doesn't have the time or resources for. With Yuta saying the reason TY was missing from that performance was because he got injured in a dance practice... I hope he and all members of NCT take care of themselves because really the journey has just started for them. I would like to recommend this videos as well for a potential reaction: - Who danced NCT 127 KICK IT the best? A Dancer's Analysis: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3a9l5WIhbSmd9U ^ This is an analysis and ranking of NCT 127 dancing Kick It. I found it very interesting and the comments to be very direct and straightforward with no sugar coating- which I like. It is around 7 minutes long. This is the NCT DREAM Ridin' analysis and ranking as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZzLhYCkmaygfrc. It is a bit shorter at around 6 1/2 as there are less members but there is a lot of comments to unpack in both. Since they use videos from Weekly Idol, WayV TBT doesn't have a video. However, there are also other analyses for Ateez, SKZ, etc. As well as individual analysis of dancers like J-Hope and Kai.

Taeyong is the Magician, The Wielder, the Dragon. He is my ultimate bias in absolutely everything especially because of his heart. I hope you watch his individual dance videos. His freestyle dance videos. He is so beautiful there. His is a madman, unique and genuine. You are not going to find anyone like him. Sometimes my heart drops when he dances because I know he's putting his body through unnatural movements. My legs have that issue and I have been prone to injury and even had to have surgery. (And I'm not athletic at all) I pray for him a lot. He creates some of these moves up by himself as he choreographs quite a bit. I feel guilty at times watching him because we as fans take for granted the really dangerous powerful moves he puts his body through. When I saw the video Shaky raindrops did, I actually cried. I just want him healthy and happy. Ugh, tears...Thank you for reacting to our precious irreplaceable Artist, Lee Taeyong. I always watch your videos quietly. Your trained critical eyes and dancing techniques are essential and most exceptional. Kudos!

It's one of the main reason why he is NCT 127 main dancer is because he is the only one to risk it all. My heart, that's why he is my BUBU. He's way to precious and vulnerable and I really worry that he might break one day. There is like one Lee Taeyong in this whole world who is the pillar in NCT containing 21 members. I enjoy you, Jeff, your instructive insights, your astute comprehension of NCT & your growing admiration of Taeyong. You me shakyraindrop & many of us here, recognize that lee Taeyong is...a phenomenal talent...a masterful SHOWMAN on the grand scale of...Bowie...a DANCER with the beast magnetism of...Nureyev...a rockstar with the erotic voltage of...Prince. We have come to REALIZE that Taeyong is that good and it's rewarding to hear people finally...saying so. It's chilling that two of those three didn't...survive...their stardom and their final years took a terrible toll. but my god they burned SO brightly! Fortunately shrewd Taeyong is the most like David Bowie, the one who DID last by recreating himself many times over the decades he dominated. Taeyong will DANCE like that...until he can't. By then he will be a superstar who has earned the freedom to do something different. As part of his rookie training, SM sent Taeyong to an international Songwriters camp and the recording booth is where he spends a LOT of his leisure time...lately. He recently spoiled this demo of...Blue kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIm0dX-ifryfp7c I AM the one who came after you in our first meeting about your KickIt concern. In this context I'd like to explain more fully WHY I objected and start by saying you were NOT wrong about the risk his knee was taking, Taeyong KNEW the risk. So did mark. So did his choreographer. So did SM. Blaming everyone around him is pointless. Anyone IN the arts knows there is NO STOPPING someone with HIS degree of drive. No one is forcing Taeyong against his will. Ultimately, That MOVE was ALLOWED because, in my (and their) esteem for an artist of Taeyong's calibre we MUST assume in ALL things ABOUT Taeyong's Art that HE is...invariably right...that includes his willingness to...risk...everything. (He pretty much DOES that all day.everyday) You don't GET where his IS unless you do. And it's flat out disingenuous for demanding Kpop fans to DENY that what people LIKE in Kpop/hiphop and dance in general and/or sports or ANY form of...excellence...is how...risky...they are. We like risk takers I'm retired from The Arts now so I champion young artists like Lee Taeyong who, as we agree...IS...a genius at his craft. And I do know something about BEING that. In my 40 years in live theater I not only worked with TRUE artists like Taeyong but when I was...Taeyong's age...as an emerging (infamous!) novice American playwright I was SEEN as one. In the Glamrock Seventies of Nureyev & Bowie my scandalous little scripts got called "daring disruptive & dangerous" (In the Seventies, the best art verged on deadly.) I grasp what DRIVES Taeyong on a level beyond health or productivity or career span. I'm aware of The Mindset it takes to DO what Taeyong does. So I'm going to DEFEND his choices...as an artist...at all costs and that will put me at odds with many here who CARE about his wellbeing (bless them!) I care too, but I worry more that INSTILLED PERFORMANCE FEAR not loose bendy joints is the fastest surest way to...cripple...an Idol. Been there. Did that. I HAD been a playwright who won slots in national festivals that I didn't enter. I could WRITE but I didn't HAVE the stamina certainty or competitive spirit Taeyong has. I slammed into a writers block & went "silent" for a decade. Maybe that's why I ACCEPT his chosen path and just clear the way for him whenever I can. It's also why I UNDeR STAND mentorship and thank SM, knowing "TAEYONG!!!" would have never come to be...without them. NCT, Neo Culture Technology, is literally the BRAND NAME of the state of the art SM Idol Program perfected over Lee Sooman's 30 YEARS of scouting recruiting training grooming promoting & managing Kpop Idols, many of whom are STILL active and...healthy...in the SM Family. We DON'T know near enough to DIAGNOSE Taeyong's CONDITION (as shakyraindrop presumes to do without BEING a legit Occupational Therapist or Sports Medicine practitioner) We do KNOW a bit about Taeyong's healthcare. A nurse TOLD us he is adored on a first name basis at his ortho clinic where his fitness is routinely monitored & managed. We SAW that he had an OT backstage to work on his back injury on the NeoCity Tour. We also KNOW from Heechul, a senior Idol in SuperJunior, that SM Idols HAVE therapists to help them cope emotionally with the demands stress & online bullying of BEING Idols. It's simply...not true...that SM does not invest in & take good care of their idols though, tragically, there were times, Heechul admits, when nothing SM COULD do...was enough to save one.. Given what he's BEEN put through, Taeyong has one of the brightest mental outlooks I've ever seen from a performer. Perhaps because somebody in SM DID teach Taeyong that "Thoughts Become Things" He obviously manifests with considerable success. As for his "unfit" body, it was Baekhyun who, upon hugging him, expressed shock at how "manly" taeyong is (not frail as expected) He has the broadest shoulders & has proven (twice!) that he is the second STRONGEST member of NCT127 (only far taller heavier Johnny wins over him). And fitness can mean very little. For It was healthy TEN who blew out his knee early on, it's sturdy HAECHAN who got sidelined when he broke his leg & Jungwoo missed a big hunk of their tour with an undisclosed (mental?) health issue. Now both SuperM's & Taemin's solo comeback are sightly delayed cause HE fell a few weeks ago in rehearsal and broke a bone in his wrist!!! Regardless of Taeyong's risky stunts on stage or whatever injuries he was nursing, Taeyong had never...ever...been rendered UNABLE to perform. He has NEVER missed a stage..until now. I'm having an ironic flashback here cause I recall how often AS an emerging writer my head was messed with & my confidence jarred by being TOLD I was "Brilliant but that "I didn't really know WHAT I was writing about (!?!)" Much as...here we sit...NOT his dance instructors & evaluators NOT his doctors & therapists NOT his agents & managers & NOT him...yet WE are second guessing A MAIN DANCER (maybe the most brilliant dancer in Kpop) as IF Taeyong is still a...rookie...with NO informed understanding of his HOW his OWN body works, the BEST way to employ it and what his capacities & frailties are. As if NO ONE who TRAINED Taeyong to THIS level of excellence ever mentioned to him that his greatest strength has a potential for injury. I THINK HE DOES KNOW. (BTW, I agree with YOU, Jeff, that at under 130 lbs, one of Taeyong's strengths is that he IS essentially weightless.) Despite is passionate persona. he actually moves with an absolute minimum of effort And when I watch the exactness efficiency expertise = elegance with which Taeyong USES his body I don't feel the urge to cringe the same way you guys are doing now that shakeyraindrop drawing on her OWN fears from the brutal training of Ballet (with no MEDICAL degree or records or examination or basis on which to judge a Kpop dancer) has SOUNDED THE ALARM that "Taeyong's career is In peril!!!!!!" I see this dancer quite differently, as a childlike savant throwing wide his kiddish arms, locking his coltish knees flexing his angled ankles with utter DELIGHT in the ODD way his very special joints move. He ENJOYS moving this way and could he really DO it IF his body WAS on the brink of broken? Most of all...I think...perhaps the REASON Taeyong is so at ease is HOW he THINKS about his body. I see a MASTER OF HIS OWN FATE who applies the Law of Attraction and controls his THOUGHTS & ATTITUDE to remain relentlessly POSITIVE at all times and see the GOOD IN ALL THINGS, I see the embodiment of an inspired engaged well endowed artist living in daily humility & absolute gratitude for the PERFECT instrument the Magnanimous Universe has blessed him with to PLAY the music in his marvelous mind. When I look at Lee Taeyong, his perfection is all...I see. Perfection is fragile. I literally pleaded with shakeyraindrop to TAKE DOWN her second segment because I found it so emotionally dangerous to Taeyong & deeply disturbing to his fans. A few days after she posted it for the FIRST time since he debuted taeyong missed a performance SM cited...a health issue. I believe these things are related. Not because of her assessment of him but because of the ALARM it set off in the TyongF, his devoted fandom. He loves & needs his fandom draws his strength & inspiration from us. The idols are depressed by covid restrictions that forbid touring and contact. By Now he has sent cards bubbles a selfie...but despite his anticipated birthday & the fourth anniversary of NCT he has not appeared in person to his frantic fans for over a month. I found it irresponsible for a NON medical NON OT professional to put this DIAGNOSIS OUT there and literally terrify Taeyong's fans who (as you can see in this thread) suddenly can't THINK about anything BUT his weakness.& potential doom. Who can WATCH him dance...now...without worrying? The LAST thing he would want us to do. OUR Thoughts (and fears for him) also become Things. And suddenly the very fans who love Taeyong most and care most deeply about him support him with our well wishes are THINKING SAD THOUGHTS that he will BE crippled BY his dancing. NOW in addition to everything else he gladly bears, he must carry the crushing weight of OUR worries, OUR fretting, OUR scolding, OUR demands for reassurances that he can't honestly give us that he will be okay...forever.. OUR bitching & blaming his company (that he loves!) cause some dancer told us at youtube that his...joints bend too far. Maybe THAT burden is what Taeyong found himself...unable...to face right now. What a terrible thing to DO to drag down a magician who floats in the heavens soars in long flights & conjures his art from thin air.

Videos like this are so informative for non dancers. It is so easy to bust a knee cap or ankle with the tiniest misjudgments. While certain risky moves add to the impact of performances, it should be kept for special occasions only. An artist needs to create and sometimes risk their own health/body to execute more and more complex moves. Thank you for reacting to the analysis and sharing your honest and professional opinions. I hope more dancers will be aware and take care of themselves if they intend to dance for a long time more.

20:32 (And I was early to comment this. Lol) In Kick It too! Bridge part, wherein Mark steps on Taeyong's knees. Since that part is a fast series that also needs energy to execute the character of a fighter, Mark has less time to measure the right spot in Taeyong's legs where he should step in. Let's say it does not matter at first, and Mark is as light as a feather according to Taeyong. But doing that on every Kick It performance? With the speed, energy, and execution? That must have atleast an impact on Taeyong's legs or knees. But what I'm proud about Taeyong, is that after that part of the dance, he goes back to Madman Taeyong seeming unfazed of what happened. But yeah, being his fan, we are really worried for him. We do not want to lose Taeyong. His talents should be recognized more and longer in this industry. We don't want him to overwork himself. One thing I am thankful for SuperM, is that the group has all the amazing dancers and fiery centers. The pressure is not that heavy for Taeyong. He needs to sport his art when his part comes in, and the people won't see the lose of energy or won't miss Taeyong's presence. We have other members in SuperM that can grab their attention for a while and would have that stable presence and energy for the song.

Voop yes but we were at the height of the controversy and the person was now threatening his family as well which is why Taeyong decided to finally take legal matters against the person and why SM put out a statement about it and even Dispatch put out an article clearing him and it was also about to be his birthday so he went to his hometown and to a resort to take a break and be with his family. That's the video I mentioned some time earlier. Before watching this analysis video I never looked at TY's flexibility from that perspective - that his "asset" may truly become his weakness in the long run. Got me really worried, cause that's not only my bias we're talking about, but just a talented young person that I really wish stays healthy and active for a long time. I truly hope that he himself realizes the potential risks and pays attention to his wellbeing. The same thing goes for his company - I hope they pay enough attention to their leading artists' physical and mental conditions to not work them into an early grave, metaphorical or not.

Honestly the reason why Taeyong became my first NCT bias was the first look he gave to the camera with The 7th Sense when is start dancing I'm sure NCTzen know what I'm talking about. What's more, he really has a unique way to perform and it works so well! But he is not cautious enough with his movements and nobody seems to teach him this type of things. We don't want a broken dancer right? But I don't work at SM place and I'm not a choreographer... I would like so much to tell him to look after his body but also his mind. Being great imply to know how to do things well in a way of taking care of yourself!

I remember that tweet. TY took a break from a single music show, more likely due to his mental health after everything he went through than anything else, and she immediately made it about herself. Not only did she not apologize for it, she kept defending herself and doubling down even after a lot of people tried to very nicely explain why the tweet was so uncalled for. This video bothered me to begin with because it makes a number of assumptions regarding his health and how it's cared for and those tweets showed me she doesn't actually care about TY at all in the end. I lost all respect I had for her at that point. It was rather disappointing as I really enjoyed the videos as a former ballet dancer myself.

Honestly, I think exaggerated on the reactions from what she said, people acted like she was "glad" for the fact that taeyong wasn't so well, but what she did was poke some fun in the fact that it happened right after she posts her video.

@@emoshrek8902 Nah. Tweeting 'Taeyong not performing for heath reasons? Interesting... Have I foreseen the future?' immediately after it was announced he wasn't performing on the midyear show and just days after everything regarding his past was sorted out was out of line, end of discussion. She made it about herself from the drop and whenever anyone tried to explain that it wasn't her place to 'poke fun' at someone else's health issues, she cut them off and made up excuses for herself. She compared herself to Galileo insisting the sun was the center of the solar system and everyone trying to explain why the joke was insensitive to Nazis trying to censor her. I blocked her after that one.

She’s odd she literally compared ppl calling her out to media censorship and like nazims and wrote a whole essay sound like a person from mid-evil times , like all that instead of saying sorry for using taeyong’s break and tyongfs being worried for him as a “I told u so moment”. I’m sad tho cus I really enjoyed her videos :(

As a person who has hypermobility, and a person who does a number of sports, it is not a nice condition to have. Although it's a quite common, it ranges from either being a few joints, or pretty much the whole body. By looking at Taeyong, it seem like he doesn't know about (or at least haven't addressed) the condition of his body. And by the looks of it, it's the whole body for him. I am not sure how much hypermobility affects him when he is performing, but looking at stunts he performs, it can't be healthy and i doubt it isn't painful. Taking myself as an example, every time i run i WILL sprain my ankle, because of how loose the joints are, and the intensity will range from; it will hurt for 20 minutes, or ,it will hurt for the whole month or possibly even more. I hope Taeyong goes to doctor to address this, because having this condition is pretty much accidentally injuring yourself all the time, and even if the injuries are not that severe, constantly stretching a loose rubber band will lead to it breaking, like it said in the video.

Taeyong and SM really need to watch this. I'm so worried about Taeyong and his future if he still overwork his body like they mentioned in the video. :(

I really want these videos to blow up in the hope that some small portion of the concerns voiced make it back to the artists, and especially their *handlers*. Taeyong isn’t the only example, but he’s certainly one of the most talented and skilled, and it would be a crying shame to lose him because of an easily avoided injury. I’m praying for positive change.

Yes, his leg structure compared to ballet dancers are almost the same. I practiced ballet for almost thirteen years but I have to stop for the reason that I felt pain at the back of my knees up and a lot of injuries occurred after it. Comparing my legs when I started ballet, I wasn’t originally HYPEREXTENDED. Due to overuse, I also feel pain on my knees. Just like my colleagues in ballet, some of them are inborn with hyperextended legs and some just had them after years of practice. But one thing is common, we all feel pain in our knees due to overwork and overstretch. Originally, people think that when you are flexible is that you are less likely to have any injuries. But based on experience, overworking our body can make us flexible but also more likely to experience injuries.

And let me tell u knee injuries NEVER go away NEVER (this from experience mind you). They can get better but it will almost always hurt best thing to do is avoid them at all cost so I hope he takes precaution cause they really hinder mobility.

you know how recently Taeyong's had to take time out of promotions and performances? this video is even more proof that it's all starting to take a toll on his body and i am very scared for him 😐

long text oop- One of the things I learned in rehearsing over and over to do lifts and spot in cheer routines, is that it's always better to risk the creativity of your work than the safety of your performer. This was especially true when I spotted for a particular lift we were trying out and ended up with the flyer injured and unable to participate in the actual performance. I still have flashes of the scene running through my head whenever I think of things I wish I could change. In the end, we were able to deliver a great enough performance, but we were one member short and that part hurt me more than the fact that they had to use a different set of people for the final stunt. Taeyong is the face and (as the video mentioned) the artistic backbone of NCT. He is not only their leader but the overall center and core of the group- the team and the concept revolve around him. Flashy and daring might be what makes him stand out among the rest, but learning to adjust to cater to the body's limits can also bring out a different form of art. Limit is the mother of creativity after all. It's a scary thought- Taeyong not performing one day- and it's often not a welcome one. We do not like to entertain the idea of losing an artist to any reason and I hope that the company, the choreographers, the members, and most especially Taeyong himself realize this. These risks may make one hell of a stage, but what if it becomes the last one?
