Not only does stemone work extremely well for creating a realistic rose accord, it is also a must have when trying to make a fig note.

I like your approach of "no rules" in perfumery. I like it because it's true. If a formula smells good to you, then it's right. There are those who "science" everything in their lives including their approach to making fragrances. I'm assisting a few folks right now who, for all intents and purposes "wing-it" with mostly real ingredients ( except for those bought pre-diluted ). Their perfumes smell really good and are definitely worthy to be sold in the small, but growing Indie market. Keep making your vids bro. You're likable and have taught yourself very quickly how to understand your material and use them effectively. Good job.

@@bkscents7050 You're welcome bro. You're channel is taking a lot of the "mystery" out of crafting fragrances and I can only assume there are "some" who don't like that....lol....

@@bkscents7050 Bwahaha. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a Basenoter. Nothing against the members there, but there's always elitism and pettiness with certain folks and that's just the way it is. I don't interact there anymore for that reason and I'm talking from "certain" mods on down. Anyway, if you ever have something of "yours" reviewed objectively, let me know and I'll review it on my blog at Il Mondo di Odore.

Question: how do I go about prediluting fragrances for the purposes of oil based products, such as beard oil? I read that the alcohol doesn't mix well with jojoba and other oils. Love your videos!

I have dabbled for years. Now I am getting more serious. And your channel is perfect. I know this is a long shot. But I am asking whomever might know. I am from Denmark. It is easy for me to get all sorts of materials for cosmetics and essential oils etc. But I simply cannot find any supplier of the molecular, synthetics and isolate fragrances, which you describe so often. Basically I am looking for perfumers apprentice inside the EU (which does not include the UK anymore). It is very expensive to get these materials from the US because of taxes and fees plus most of the concentrates are considered hazadous materials, which are extra expensive to import. Do you by any chance know of such suppliers?
@bkscents7050
@bkscents7050 2 жыл бұрын
You should look into 'Pell Wall'. They are based in the UK (i think) and are one of the most trusted suppliers in that region.

@@bkscents7050 Strange how I did not come across them in my search. They do indeed seem to have everything. Bloody Brexit. The world would be a smaller better place without custom fees. Thank. You very much

comparing cis 3 hexenol with cis 3 hexenol acetate, what differences do you feel?
@bkscents7050
@bkscents7050 3 жыл бұрын
I Don't have the acetate variety to compare with. I have isovalerate and salicilate versions.....but not the acetate
@connorpowell6338
@connorpowell6338 3 жыл бұрын
I imagine, due to it being an acetate, while it may be similar there is probably a slightly fruity thing going on?
@thiagoribeiropereira3229
@thiagoribeiropereira3229 3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps it has a more fruity aspect. But because it is acetate, it is not always that I have a fruity characteristic. For me, isobornyl acetate has nothing fruity.

@@thiagoribeiropereira3229 Fair enough man, I could be wrong! Just an observation I've made among my own materials and a characteristic I now associate with them haha
@connorpowell6338
@connorpowell6338 3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps what is registering with me as "fruity" is the tendency for acetates to be rounder, less fresh than alcohols but not overly heavy either. Who knows, we all process things differently and make our own associations
