Perhaps the slide action on a 2011 doesn't matter that much compared to a Glock

Tighter tolerances are nice but requires more attention. A 2011 will not run dry as reliably as a Glock will. They sure are nice to shoot, though. Enjoying your viewpoints, I agree with a lot of them.
